THIS IS NOT A TOY. THEvs.YOU is the visualisation of a positive Virus which lives within of each of us – it`s literally just waiting to get activated. The 100% HANDMADE vs.YOU mascot is bureaucratically marked as an desktop-item. Within this official declaration FLATAU goes deeper and defines the vs.YOU as an modern interpretation of the probably most classic desktop-item, the post it. „When ever you find yourself in visual contact or find yourself thinking about the vs.YOU, it is not only meant to remember you of what your Dreams & Goals are further more ment to motivate you in fighting for them, as hard as you can_“

Jack The inspiration for JACK occurred when

I was rooting and rummaging through an ancientbattered trunk and discovered

an old, homemade doll with a marvelous, scary face. I‘vealways loved neon and it seemed a match.

My work is a celebration of the universe as it is, with it‘s incredible vibrancy, worlds within worlds, and mystery. I embrace the physical stuff of the world and love using it to create new vocabularies of form and meaning. My work is made with attention to detail and fine materials: toys, pickled snakes, and used shoe laces; hot pink feather boas, dentures, parakeet bells and garters; fresh water pearls, hair, innards, freeze dried moles, and tentacles ... Some works resonate content, others embody a state of being. Writer Jamba Dunn compared seeing my work to finding a voodoo pouch in his cotton candy. Painter Tony Speirs said „I will have nightmares about this.....and I’ll wake up smiling.“

about spaceship The Spaceship is a small, multidisciplinary design studio from Germany. It momentarily consists of two 24-year-old freelance graphic artists, Christoph Ruprecht (Crispy/ Crystal) and Nikita Milukovs (AstroBoy), both with different backgrounds in graphic design and art. In the beginning of 2009 both decided to put their skills together and to go on a journey of exploration and discovery throughout the visual universe. There are no rules, no specialized fields, no certain strengths to point out. The small designstudio offers a wide range of services, from corporate designs, flash-storyboards or logotypes, to complete visual concepts, sometimes through collaboration with other programmers or photographers.

RUI SOUSA These polymorphous beings surprising, seductive and funny creatures with contours are disturbing, with a scenic and pose a critical message. My drawings carry with it a dark dimension and even absurd. „Compulsive“ is perhaps the word that best defines my work: an accumulation of my thoughts and visions into drawings that result in a kind of diary. The taste for manual work is because depends only on ourselves. The „shock“ that has most of my work is not premeditated, but it is a way to send a message.

MICKEY JACKSON MOUSE Art which makes you think Mickey Jackson Mouse is the artwork by atelier Alessio Blanco for Walt Disney Company. Created few weeks before Michael Jackson died, it has been acclaimed by critics as a tribute to the great artist. The artwork is now at Times Square in Hong Kong for the „Bloc Mickey“ event by Walt Disney. Mickey Jackson Mouse is shaping from the idea that Mickey Mouse is an anthropomorphic mouse willing so bad to look like a man that nowadays can resort to plastic surgery to score his main goal. This sets a deal with Mickey and Michael, even for the assonance of names, though we could have never pictured what would happen few day after its creation. The artwork is just intended to be ironic and is assuming a new connotation about the role of plastic surgery in modern society even if the artist never wanted to make a direct reference to the King of Pop.

2. Urban Contemporary Art

The Munich event agency HERR.KEUNER presents together with the team of “INTOXICATED DEMONS” from Berlin and the Munich „Team from Hell“ the biggest art event of the year! At the end of October more than 15 international galleries and art projects based on “Urban Contemporary Art” will show their picture, drawings, toys and other exhibits together at the STROKE01. STROKE.01 will be the first international Urban Art exhibition of this kind in Europe. 1. A little story first: In November 2008, after two years of struggling and fighting the owners of the Berlin gallery for Urban Art "INTOXICATED DEMONS GALLERY" (ID.G) ask themselves an important question: Is „Urban Contemporary Art“ still only a sub cultural phenomenon for a special selected target group? Almost five months later they could answer their question by themselves. The owner of HERR.KEUNER and the ID.G Gallery in Berlin startet a vernissage in Munich in a special selected location. The name was program – “Kunst im Tresor” was situated in a 650sqm sized safe in an old and unused bank building near the English Garden. More than 1.400 guests and visitors joined the event on May 5th and 6th. (further information: http://www.kunst-im-tresor.de)

www.stroke01.com

castle

Urban Art, used as a general term for different contemporary art techniques and developments already found its way out of the subculture into all media and many galleries. It is already part of a worldwide art movement and maybe the first international art movement ever. Urban Art is demonstrating a new way of a global networking for artists and fans. It is already part of shows in many museums and is traded in auctions worldwide. Nethertheless a lot of Urban Art projects and galleries still work unprofitable. Passion and devotion are still the most important keys to move on and push economical calculation in the background. Because of this the young generation of galleries and art projects still have problems to handle the rules of the international market of art. For us, this is the starting point to do the STROKE.01 exhibition. 3. Our idea to run the first exhibition for Urban Art After the big success of „Kunst im Tresor“ the owners of HERR.KEUNER and Intoxicated Demons started to think about the possibility, to push many German and European galleries to start a new project together and run a concentrate vernissage to present all the different styles and types? Raiko Schwalbe: „We feel confident with this idea and want to start a new platform. Therefore we started STROKE.01 and we like to transport our idea to as much as possible galleries and art projects all over Europe.“ 4. The infrastructure To make the participation possible and interesting for many galleries and art projects, the organizers were looking for a special location to run STROKE.01. After checking different types of buldings they decided to choose a former BMW car selling center at the Dachauer Strasse near the Stiglmaierplatz just 10 minutes away from the central station. The total area covers more than 2000 sqm and is splitted in 3 levels with different types of rooms. With the public transportation system it's easy to reach the location within minutes from everywhere in Munich.

5. Contact: If you would like to get further information’s about STROKE.01 just use the following contacts: - For all inquiries about sponsoring, press or partners: Raiko Schwalbe raiko@stroke01.com Telefon: 01577.388.11.51 - For all inquiries about the participations, the creative concept and design: Marco Schwalbe marco@stroke01.com Telefon: 0176.969.73.44.7 Officially organizer Agentur HERR.KEUNER Marco und Raiko Schwalbe Malplaquetstrasse 13A 13347 Berlin Deutschland Responsible for the INTOXICATED DEMONS GALLERY in Berlin and the organizer of "Kunst im Tresor“. ILLUSTRATIVE 2009 From Neocraft to Graphic Novel Illustrative art festival returns to Berlin Paris, Zurich and now Berlin: ILLUSTRATIVE 2009 will return to the creative capital to celebrate the cuttingedge works of contemporary graphic art for the fifth time around. From the 16th of October to the 1st of November, works ranging from drawing, graphic prints, painting and monumental mural collages to graphically inspired 3D-illustrations, book art and animation will be on show. With more than 60 artists from all across the world, ILLUSTRATIVE brings together an inspiring cornucopia of visual contemporary culture in the Villa Elisabeth located in the heart of Berlin. ILLUSTRATIVE showcases an international scene of artist-designers, whose works have been inspired by subculture movements like comic and graffiti as well as by applied arts like illustration and book art. The exhibition explores the merging of infinite materials and techniques in widely unprecedented combinations, which challenge learned ways of seeing – e.g. the latest development, where illustration and graphics are translated into the third dimension, or new narrative strategies in 3D-animation.
