In compiling our lists of contributors, we have strived to be as accurate as possible. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inadvertent omissions, and notify Ross School Development Office, 18 Goodfriend Drive, East Hampton, New York 11937.
It gives me great pleasure to write to the Ross School community, whose members have always been deeply passionate, dedicated, and generous to the School. To each of you who committed your loyalty and gave so generously of your resources to support our Annual Giving campaign, I give heartfelt thanks on behalf of everyone at the school: students, faculty, parents, staff, and alumni. Your gifts make the difference at Ross, enhancing the Ross experience we all treasure and making essential elements of it possible. Let me share some examples of what Annual Giving accomplishes at Ross on a daily basis. You make it possible for us to attract and retain world-class faculty and offer a cutting-edge, global curriculum. Thanks to you, we provide unique wellness, athletic, visual arts, and performing arts programs that allow us to nurture and inspire “the whole child for the whole world. Your annual gifts help us care for the farm animals at the Lower School and keep our small class sizes. And student by student, we create life-changing experiences, like Senior Projects and Midwinter Term. While serving as a model global school, Ross has always been, and continues to be, fully committed to our local community. For the last 20 years, the Steven J. Ross Scholarship Fund has enabled children of all socioeconomic backgrounds from across the East End of Long Island to receive an exceptional college preparatory education. This year, as in previous years, more than 40% of Ross students are benefiting from need-based financial aid totaling over $2.7 million. In the history of the School, over $24 million has been dedicated to financial aid for several hundred local children. As at nearly all independent schools, the cost of a Ross education exceeds tuition. Your contributions to Annual Giving support critical daily operations across the school and help provide a unique educational experience that prepares our students to manage the challenges and seize the opportunities of the 21st century. With gratitude and my warmest regards,

Nearly 350 people attended Club Starlight, where celebrities and members of the community mingled with Ross School alumni, families, faculty, and staff for an unforgettable evening. This year’s honoree was Founder Courtney Sale Ross, who was recognized for her vision of changing the way education meets the future by creating a truly interdisciplinary curriculum deeply engaged with the global community. Ross parents Charles Stevenson and Alex Kuczynski co-chaired the event, and Dr. Gerry Curatola served as Master of Ceremonies. Luminaries such as Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Quincy Jones, and Howard Gardner paid tribute to Mrs. Ross in a video highlighting her commitment to the idea of an internationally oriented, progressive education and her success in turning it into a reality. Supporters such as Donna Karan and Russell Simmons enjoyed Roberta Flack’s exhilarating performance. From faculty and staff who have been at the School since its beginning to new parents whose children will one day be Ross graduates, this beautiful evening brought together a community that is dedicated to providing an exceptional education to all children, regardless of their economic background. Proceeds from Club Starlight go to the Steven J. Ross Scholarship Fund. BENEFACTOR ($50,0 0 0)

Nearly 100 golfers and celebrated members of the New York Knicks enjoyed a day on the green at Ross School’s Fourth Annual Golf with the Knicks Outing at The Bridge Golf Club in Bridgehampton on Monday, June 11. The event raised money for Ross programs and scholarships. Key attendees included former New York Knicks players John Starks, Mel Davis, Larry Johnson, John Wallace, and Herb Williams. Interim Head of Ross School Dr. Gregg Maloberti and Andrew Boyland, a Ross parent, co-chaired the event, which was sponsored in part by the New York Knicks and Rolls-Royce. The outing included an exclusive 18-hole golf tournament on the 76.1-rated course designed by Reese Jones, ASGCA, at The Bridge. A celebratory cocktail awards reception and test drives of the Rolls-Royce 2012 Ghost followed the tournament.

Ross School launched its 20th anniversary with a celebration for the Ross community on October 21. Hosted by Courtney Sale Ross, the western-themed event was attended by more than 700 guests, including grandparents, parents, students, alumni, board members, and faculty and staff. Ross was also pleased to welcome and honor two very special guests, Ross mentors and key collaborators in the development of the School’s Spiral Curriculum, Ralph Abraham and William Irwin Thompson. Guests square-danced to country-western music, dined on Southwest cuisine, and enjoyed special student performances.
