1 Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen One of the Netherlands’ oldest museums hosts a rich spectrum of temporary exhibits on a variety of subjects. Its permanent collection of paintings, sculptures, drawings, etchings and objects features many major Dutch and European works spanning the early middle ages to the 21st century, from Jeroen Bosch to Rembrandt, from Van Gogh to Salvador Dalí and Dutch Design.

Pure Rubens The exhibition ‘Pure Rubens’ is the largest survey of Rubens’ oil sketches in the past sixty-five years. Each of the oil sketches displays the brilliant touch of the master himself, revealing Rubens’ unmatched imaginative powers: his ability to tell stories in ways so original and exciting that the viewer is swept away.

This is Cas | Vintage Photography by Cas Oorthuys Get acquainted with Cas Oorthuys – photographer, optimist, world traveller and family man with an oeuvre equal to that of such internationally known names as Henri Cartier-Bresson and Werner Bischof. The Destroyed City by Ossip Zadkine The sculpture (1953) represents a distressed figure with its head and arms lifted skywards. The hole in the figure’s torso symbolises the destroyed heart of the city after the bombings of 14 May 1940. 10

Cascade by Atelier Van Lieshout The eight-metre tall sculpture Cascade (2010) is made of polyester, a material that can almost be regarded as the signature of Atelier Van Lieshout. Drums and human shapes, rigid and limp forms, all melted together into a single whole. 9
12 Santa Claus by Paul McCarthy Santa Claus (2001) is the bronze king of instant satisfaction, the symbol of consumer enjoyment. The design of the sculpture combines high and low culture.

33 Up & Down The artwork at the corner of the West-Kruiskade and the Diergaardesingel was made by the famous Brazilian artist Onesto. He is influenced by hip hop movies from the 80s and comic books.

32 Vincent Vega Meet John Travolta as Vincent Vega from Pulp Fiction, part of the Rotterdam Street Art Museum near the Josephstraat. The artist, Insane51, created a 3D image by placing two murals on the same surface.
34 #makeithappen Faceless characters are climbing up a six story building at the corner of the Schilderstraat and the Schiedamse Vest. Artist Daan Botlek created an interactive wall painting where you become part of the artwork. It’s part of a series of seven #makeithappen wall pieces.

Henk Chabot The Chabot Museum celebrates its 25th Anniversary with a special exhibition about the works of painter and sculptor Henk Chabot (1894 – 1949). The exhibition gives a representative impression of his work, showing both his penetrating figures and monumental Dutch landscapes. The ground floor hosts an overview of drawings from Chabot from the museum’s collection, in which he draws his subjects in a few pencil strokes, reminiscent of Rembrandt. 27 November 2018 - 3 February 2019
