Craig’s story

I spent 11 years in the Navy after joining as a 17 year old junior engineer. I travelled the entire world in various jobs both on land and at sea. Civvis don’t live life like Service men do, you miss that banter and nights out with the lads.

Round Table manages to fill that hole and you always get that feeling of being part of something again. Just like when you’re in the Forces, you can do all different things like sports, days out, expeditions and meeting new people.

My experience of being a member of Round Table has been brilliant, you can meet like-minded men who do a lot for the local community as well as having a great social life as well. It’s the same as being in the Forces without the need to go away from home and getting shot at!

They stay because what they find is a ready-made group of friends, from all walks of life, who allow them to just be themselves. Whether you’re new to your area, or are just looking to broaden your social life, your local Ladies Circle group is a perfect way of getting more out of life.

real breath of fresh air for me, as being around men all day talking about football is enough to send you do-lally!

In terms of ex- Forces personnel, what you once had in the mob, the camaraderie, the group get togethers to set the world to rights, that network of friends all over the world that you can pick up the phone and ring and they wouldn’t bat an eyelid, that sense of belonging to an organisation, well, LC has that and more. It’s kind I am still technically ‘new’ of like the best bits of the to LC but in the few years I armed forces, the fun bits, have been a member I have the good bits without the had some great experiences guard duty and the fitness and done things I probably test! wouldn’t have done either on my own or with the RAF. I did not know about Ladies Circle until my sister joined and saw how she was having a fabulous time. I do keep myself busy at work and outside activities and at first I did not have time to commit, but it looked too much of a good thing to pass up so I contacted my local Circle and knew I had done the right thing.

I wanted something outside of the military and a group of like minded ladies getting together and doing fun and sometimes outrageous activities was a
