WHO ARE WE ? French Furniture Export Group is a specialist organisation, formed at the initiative of the National Union of French Furniture Industries (UNIFA) and a partner of CODIFAB (the Committee for the Development of the French Furniture Industry). Its role is to inform and promote awareness among all the sector’s players. It also acts as spokesperson and ambassador for the French furniture industry outside France. GEM proposes to group together companies with similar or complementary commercial interests in terms of market or country on a shared assignment. GEM also organizes French pavilion in the most important exhibitions such as the International Furniture Fair in Singapore, the Salone Internazionale Del Mobile in Milan and Moscow and DECOREX in London.

ALSAPAN ALSAPAN (Furniture, Flooring, Worktops) was founded in 1972 and is the third-largest flatpacked furniture manufacturer in France. The company has annual production of some 4.5 million pieces of furniture, 1.5 million worktops, and 15 Million square meters of laminate flooring in its 5 production sites. ALSAPAN has an ongoing capital investment program designed to meet market requirements associated with the continuous upgrading of its industrial processes. The company has always sought to drive and improve its production capacities and skills, and has frequently led the field in the use of new technologies. Long experience and different partnerships set up with international customers have allowed ALSAPAN to build up an industry-leading manufacturing expertise which has led to the company developing innovative techniques in its 4 production facilities: • Panel wrapping of furniture parts: ALSAPAN has 2 panel-wrapping production lines and is the only French manufacturer to have this resource and technology which it developed in 1994. • Laminate panel pressing. • Finish foil furniture. • An exclusive process for glueing edgebands. • Direct pressure lamination of worktops - a process unique in Europe developed by ALSAPAN for its Wasselonne facility. ALSAPAN’s membership of the EPI Group has allowed it to carry out a €25 million capital expenditure program over the last 4 years. There are 5 production facilities with a total surface area of over 155,000 m² dedicated to the production of specific products.

EBAC EBAC, is a medium size company specialized in the bedding industry since 1947. We have 90 employees but highly automated. In the early stages, we made slatted bed frames and then we started to produce mattresses a few years later. Currently, we offer a wide range of bedding products which includes metal bed frames, electric motion beds and top quality mattresses.

LIGNE ROSET ‘Sexy’ had never been a word used to describe a piece of furniture till Pierre Paulin’s curvaceous armchairs and sofa designs were introduced during the Fifties. A hit, especially among the younger generation at that time, Paulin’s voluptuous chair designs were the result of experimenting with rounded edges made of foam, rubbers and stretchy fabric that worked together to cling to and cradle the body. Some of Paulin’s creations have become so iconic that they are now featured in museum collections across the globe, including the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Though Michel Roset has worked with some of the foremost talents in furniture design, and whose own furniture brand Ligne Roset exemplifies the term ‘avant-garde’, says that he only dared dream of the day when he wouId have the privilege of working with the legendary Pierre Paulin.The exceptional connection between Pierre Paulin and Ligne Roset started from an unexpected meeting between Pierre Paulin and Michel Roset in 2007. Roset testifies that Paulin was a visionary in furniture design - years ahead of his time. Their first collaboration resulted in ‘Pumpkin’ -a collection of armchairs and sofas in vibrant hues resembling that of a giant pumpkin. This design is a reinterpretation of seats Paulin created for the then French President, Georges Pompidou, when he was commissioned to carry out the redecoration and fitting-out works of his private apartment rooms at the Élysée Palace in 1971. Roset and Paulin worked closely together on several other designs, up till the Paulin’s death in 2009. After which, his wife, Maïa Paulin, continued working on the collaboration with Ligne Roset. «His work will never be lost -it will echo through time,» says Roset with tenderness. Today, spanning 60 years of design since the beginning of his career in the Fifties, Ligne Roset offers a wide collection of about 20 reissued design pieces by Paulin - a true ‘modernist’. At the China International Furniture expo, Ligne Roset will be showcasing several of Paulin’s designs.
