Choirs from across the primary and secondary schools of the David Ross Education Trust (DRET) perform the UK premiere of James Burton’s The Lost Words, conducted by the composer. Inspired by the bestselling children’s book by Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris, The Lost Words celebrates the wonder of the natural world through a series of spell-poems, each describing a word in danger of disappearing from children’s language - acorn, dandelion, otter, bramble - and brings them to life again through song.

This performance, suitable for all the family, will be accompanied by digital art created by pupils from DRET schools.

Conductor Delyana Lazarova brings her dynamic and electrifying conducting style to Northampton with Sinfonia Viva, the orchestra of the East Midlands, in one of Beethoven’s most celebrated works. Beethoven’s Symphony No.3 is a bold musical statement that revels in drama and flamboyance, igniting the spark for what became the Romantic period.

Exciting young Israeli pianist Ariel Lanyi brings his precise and lyrical playing to Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.20, and the concert opens with Joseph Bologne’s overture to the comic opera L’Amant

Join Royal & Derngate’s Youth Theatre and Young Company Musicals at The Big Top this July in a double bill of musical murder mysteries set in the wonderful world of the circus. Brace yourself for twists and turns and toe-tapping tunes as intriguing plots of love, deceit and shattered dreams unfold.

Immerse yourself in the action as you meet suspects and examine clues. Can you identify the culprit? Or will the case remain unsolved? The. Choice. Is. Yours!

Directed by Jonathan Stewart with scripts co-created with Youth Theatre and Young Company Musicals members, this double bill of family-fun murder mystery musicals is sure to test your powers of detection through cunning characters, devious dealings and puzzling plots.

When the young and naive D’Artagnan sets out on his quest to become a King’s musketeer, he immediately encounters the dangerous and wily Milady de Winter. After discovering that the musketeers have been disbanded, he makes it his riotous mission to get them reinstated with ridiculous repercussions.

The Actors Company, directed by Dan McGarry (The Night Before Christmas, Bert’s House, Writing Doesn’t Have To Be Lonely), perform this funny, high-energy, swashbuckling adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’ classic novel by John Nicholson and Le Navet Bete

It’s been 75 years since HM Empire Windrush arrived at Tilbury Docks and Royal & Derngate invite you join us for this vibrant and poignant new piece that will reflect and celebrate the positive impact of Windrush here in Northamptonshire and nationally.

Part verbatim, part theatre and part musical, join the wonderful Royal & Derngate Community Choir and actors from the local community in this brand new show with original songs inspired by local people. Directed by Sharon De Leonardis (Spectacularts) and created with Musical Director Gareth Fuller and artist Weekes Baptist, this will be a significant opportunity to celebrate, discuss and reflect.
