SIGHTSEEING TOURS Contoy This desert island is one of the most important nature reserves in the Mexican Caribbean, home to 150 species of bird including residents and seasonal visitors. Explore the island, its coast paths, mangroves and lagoons and you’ll observe a variety of flora and fauna. The trip includes an open bar, barbecue lunch and snorkeling. Sailings on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, ask at the tour desk for departure times.
Isla Mujeres Although we recommend several Isla Mujeres trips, such as Garrafón Discovery, Caribbean Fun Day and the Islander Tour, they are very similar. There may be minor variations such as the kind of food served, the type and size of boat used, ambiance and activities, however all include time for snorkeling, (snorkeling is included in the price of some trips, in others it is optional), buffet lunch, drinks and shopping in the village. Cozumel
Travel by coach and ferry to Cozumel, Mexico’s largest inhabited island, famous for its incredible scuba diving and unique charm. Tour includes snorkeling, beach activities, lunch, sightseeing and free time for shopping in island capital, San Miguel. Daily departures, ask at the tour desk for times.
Xcaret Enjoy a day at one of the area’s most beautiful parks. The fun never stops, how about swimming in an underground river, snorkeling, visiting the aquarium, botanical garden and the aviary, or relaxing on the beach? Ek Balam North of Valladolid in the neighboring state of Yucatán, just two hours from Cancún, the Mayan city of Ek Balam is being restored by archaeologists and has already yielded some fascinating discoveries. Climb the Acropolis for a look at the magnificent stone work featuring richly attired Mayan lords. Then it’s on to the historic town of Valladolid. Xoximilco Spend an unforgettable Mexican evening at Cancún’s latest attraction, Xoximilco. Ten minutes to the south of Cancún Airport, this park is a tribute to the famous floating gardens of Xochimilco in Mexico City. Sian Ka’an Wild and wonderful, Sian Ka’an is one of Mexico’s largest biosphere reserves and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tankah A day of nature, aquatic fun and regional cuisine awaits you at Tankah Park near Tulum. Spend the day exploring the turquoise lagoon set in the jungle and swimming in three cenotes. Visitors can ride the zip line across the Naval Cenote and go canoeing. There’s a diving platform and splashdown zip line at Cueva cenote and Azul Cenote is perfect for cooling off. “Tankah” means “the center of town” in Maya and its small temples are testimony to its importance in ancient times.
