Ms. Shahroom Ahmed was born in February 1955 in Penang. Now living in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She was a Video/Film Producer for Local production company for 12 years. She has experienced in producing Movies and Dramas. Later she joined an American Advertising Agency Lintas Advertising, of which the firm changed its name to LOWE & Partners. Over the years, she experienced in producing advertisements with many top brands in the country namely Johnsons & Johnsons, Unilever, R J Reynolds, SaraLee and others. She has vast experience the advertising agency for 27 years. After her retirement, she decided to continue her passion in Arts and Crafts. She has a latent passion towards art and painting from a very young age. She started by experimenting on creating art pieces on glass, metal, paper and wood which she sold at Craft and Flea markets over the weekends. The public response was encouraging. This gave her confidence to “graduate' to canvass as her chosen art medium. Thus, she joined Akademi Inspire to be guided by their experts to finesse her techniques and creativity. She now realises that her sweet spot is the limitless potential of the canvass. She can now express her inner self through her perseverance in still life, design, arts & crafts and portraits. Over the years she has had personal tutors who guide her in different mediums example charcoal, pastels, acrylic, oil, watercolour, Chinese ink painting and coloured pencil drawing. She has achieved in learning all the different techniques. Today, most of her paintings are of mixed medium where she combines different techniques when it is applicable. Her ultimate vision is to be able to share the blessings of this God given talent to many people whom she can get connected with. Her quest is to be recognised by her peers and accepted as an Artist! Maria Carmelli “Melli� Villavicencio graduated from the University of the Philippines with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts Major in Visual communication. In April 2017, she had her first International group exhibit in New York for the benefit of children with disabilities. They conducted a fashion show and art classes for the children with autism. In November 2017, she was a part of group exhibit in Alcala, Pangasinan which also showed art demonstrations to the locals of Pangasinan. It was entitled Pista ng Sining. In March 2018, she had her 2nd International group exhibit held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Together with the FilArts Filipino artists and Malaysian artists, the exhibition was held in Hulo Hotel + Gallery and was entitled 'Art Collab: Rediscovering Art & Culture'. In April 2018, she had another group exhibition with FilArts entitled 'New Beginnings' at FRED'S Gallery in Baguio City. She is known for her colorful and fancy, almost childlike art style which shows her bright personality and creative outlook in life. Currently, Melli is apart time art teacher in St. Paul College, Pasig and also a freelance art teacher for children with disabilities.
