RUSSIAN MASTERWORKS The RPO is delighted to be joined by two young and dynamic artists – French conductor, Lionel Bringuier, and Ukrainian violinist, Valeriy Sokolov, each already taking the classical music world by storm – for a phenomenal performance of two of the greatest classical masterpieces ever written. Find yourself instantly swept up in the passion of Rachmaninov’s spirited Symphony No.2 – rich with luscious texture and enchanting melodies. Also featuring Shostakovich’s brooding Violin Concerto No.1 – an intense work full of anguish and despair, legendary in its difficulty to play.
