Sought-after ‘blimp-free’ Led Zeppelin poster for their 1969 California Irvine show

4137. Led Zeppelin 1969 Crawford

Hall Poster. Scarce original color 12 x 19 poster for a Led Zeppelin concert at the University of California Irvine’s Crawford Hall on May 1, 1969. Designed by Chris Boulton, the psychedelic poster depicts the band with capillary wave-like patterns rippling out from each of their foreheads, making for a terrifically kaleidoscopic effect. Stylized text to upper portion reads, “Led Zeppelin, Lee Michaels, Thursday May 1, 8:00 P. M., U. C. Irvine, Crawford Hall,” with the lower border featuring ticket information. The upper border is stamped: “The Groove Co.” Professionally backed and expertly restored to fine condition. The consignor notes that this poster was obtained after the show.

This bright and highly displayable concert poster was the band’s last to not include the appearance of a dirigible, the first showing of which occurred the next night in a poster for their show in Pasadena; the Zeppelin blimp then became a staple in nearly all future promotional materials. Starting Bid $1000

Rare fully signed photo acquired at their 1977 Madison Garden show

4138. Led Zeppelin Signed Photograph. Vintage glossy 10 x 8 Swan Song publicity photo of Led Zeppelin posing together backstage, signed and inscribed in black ballpoint, “To Wayne, Best wishes, Robert Plant,” “John Bonham,” “Jimmy Page,” and “John Paul Jones.” In very good condition, with noticeable overall creasing, and pen issues rendering Bonham and Page light, and Jones very faint. The consignor notes that his aunt worked at Swan Song and obtained the signatures for him at Madison Square Garden in 1977 as the band prepared for their performance. Vintage 8 x 10 photos signed in full by Led Zeppelin are few and far between. Starting Bid $1000
