187. Howard Hughes Signed Photograph. Exceptional vintage matte-finish 9 x 7.25 photo of Hughes talking to a man from the cockpit of a Northrop airplane, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To Billy Duane, with best wishes, Howard Hughes, ‘37.” In fine condition, with trimmed borders. On January 19, 1937, Hughes broke his own transcontinental speed record when he flew from Los Angeles, California, to Newark, New Jersey, in 7 hours and 31 minutes, for an estimated average speed of 332 miles per hour.
