What To Do For Constipation Relief

The first steps you need to take for eliminating constipation are outlined so that you can start right away to eliminate constipation. So many people have constipation and this is where the majority of illnesses begin – in the colon. It doesn’t matter how old you are, maintaining colon health is first priority. But in some people poor liver or kidney function can affect colon health. Then these organs become first priority. Here are two things to start with when you have infrequent bowel movements and this will help you prevent further constipation problems. First, you need to eat more fiber. In some cases, certain people will not react to more fiber and their constipation will persist. But, eating more fiber will increase the bulk of your stools and cause you to have more bowel movements. Fiber also makes your stools softer, reducing their hardness, so that they move through your colon easier. Fiber is the first step you need to take to eliminate your constipation. Fiber will also help to trap excess cholesterol, estrogen, bad bacteria, and toxins and move them out of your colon. Look to eat corn or oat bran over wheat bran, since these other bran’s are more effective trapping toxin matter. You can also get the best fiber from eating more fruits and vegetables. Cooking fruits and vegetables softens the fiber and makes them less effective. You can supplement your fiber with natural fiber supplements, since it not always possible to eat fruits and vegetables all of the time. Once you add more fiber to your diet, then start taking more vitamin C. Vitamin C will increase the number of bowel movements that you will have. Vitamin C has a laxative effect. If you take very little vitamin C then take about 5000 mg per day. If you don’t see any change in your bowel movements then increase your vitamin C to 7000 mg. If you see your stools are runny then back off the vitamin C by 1000 mg at a time. There you have it, first steps for eliminating constipation.
