LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT We welcome you to another season of Hillcat golf, which promises to build upon the excellence we've seen in previous years. The development of our athletic programs mirrors the exciting changes that have occurred throughout the university with a distinguished list of recent milestones that includes: • Developing as Oklahoma’s fastest growing regional university during the past decade while still maintaining the personalized academic attention that’s become the university's hallmark; • Adding new academic programs to meet the needs of Oklahoma’s business and industry, including our first master’s degree program starting in fall 2014; • Constructing two student apartment communities and a dining hall (to open in fall 2014) that serve the Tulsa metropolitan area’s only residential, public university; • Expanding and remodeling academic facilities to provide students with up-to-date academic resources; and • Developing strong ties with the communities we serve in order to fulfill our mission of education and service. RSU’s rapid growth also extends to our intercollegiate athletics, which are a relatively new addition after being reintroduced to campus in 2005. In only a few short years, our Hillcat teams have become a vital component of the university’s DNA providing an infectious campus spirit and a strong connection to the community. The university and our students have invested in athletic facilities, including the new baseball/softball complex, Bushyhead Fieldhouse renovations, expansion and turf installation at Soldier Field and construction of soccer and cross country facilities on campus. We appreciate our entire student body for their support of these campus initiatives, including the student fees that funded the recently completed $4 million renovations of the soccer facilities and baseball/softball complex. Their support signals a strong vote of confidence in our athletic programs, but also represents their investment in the quality of life at Rogers State. This year, our Hillcats begin their first season of competition within the Heartland Conference in the NCAA Division II. We have appreciated the high priority these two organizations have placed on promoting healthy values, developing strong character traits, and encouraging academic achievement among all student-athletes. These are core values for RSU’s programs, and we work daily to impress them upon our student-athletes. LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS Greetings from the Hill and welcome to the fifth season of Hillcat Golf! The RSU Athletic Department embarks on a new chapter during the 2013-14 campaign as the Hillcats enter the Heartland Conference and continue the NCAA Division II membership process. The RSU Men’s and Women’s Golf teams have continuously improved since the program’s inception in 2009. Last season, Coach Lynn Blevins’ squads finished the Hillcats tenure in the NAIA ranked in the Top 25. We are very proud of our Men’s and Women’s Golf team’s accomplishments and are excited to see what the future holds for both programs as we enter a new chapter in our storied history. The support given by the community has played a large role in the success of our Golf program and the Hillcat Athletic Department as a whole. We look to continue that success while raising the bar in 2013-14. Thank you for your continued support of Hillcat Athletics.

Rogers State University: A Great Oklahoma Higher Education Success Story

Rogers State University holds a historic position in the annals of Oklahoma higher education. Since RSU was accredited as a four-year university in 2000, enrollment has increased by more than 60 percent, earning RSU the title of Oklahoma's fastest-growing regional university A dynamic, progressive university with nearly 4,300 students, RSU is widely recognized for its high-quality academic programs, distance learning options and high-technology learning environment. RSU is the only public four-year, residential university in the Tulsa metropolitan area. RSU offers a wide variety of bachelor's and associate degrees. Innovative new bachelor's degrees include applied technology, environmental conservation, military history, sport management and game development. In fall 2014, the university will begin its first graduate degree program, a master’s of business administration. Many students from northeast Oklahoma who plan to attend medical school complete their undergraduate studies through RSU's program in medical/molecular biology. Distinguished Academic Achievements

RSU received continued accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools without further required evaluation for 10 years - a rarity in higher education in Oklahoma and a major accomplishment achieved by few universities. This is truly a testament to the high academic quality of RSU. RSU participates in The Washington Center Internship Program, a nationally recognized program placing students with private, public, and nonprofit organizations in Washington, D.C. Students participating in the semester-long internship earn college credit while they gain "real world" experience within their field of interest and interact with influential leaders and policymakers. RSU is one of only three universities in Oklahoma to participate in this prestigious program.

ABOUT RSU Most RSU faculty members hold doctoral degrees or the highest degrees available in their fields from esteemed institutions across the nation, including Princeton University, Duke University and the University of Oklahoma.

A major expansion and renovation of Baird Hall on the Claremore campus was completed in 2010. The new Baird Hall has doubled in size and contains many of the leadingedge features associated with higher learning today, including classrooms equipped with Smart Boards, a performance studio, an art gallery and an outdoor classroom for learning outdoors on sunny days.

The university’s Honors Program provides an atmosphere where scholars can challenge themselves academically to maximize their college experience through specialized courses, student/faculty joint research projects, and a strong emphasis on service learning in the community.

RSU opened in September 2011 a new student apartment community that doubles the number of students living on the main campus in Claremore. The $11.5 million project accommodates up to 255 students in a three-level facility, located across the street from the present university apartments. The new 87,118-square-foot complex is located just west of Soldier Field. A new student dining hal will open on campus in fall 2014.

The President's Leadership Class (PLC), a four-year scholarship program that fosters personal and professional development, was designed for RSU students who have demonstrated leadership abilities. RSU also offers study abroad programs in Italy and Wales through the University's Studies-at-Large Program. The international study programs provide students with opportunities to see the world, learn about other cultures, and enrich their educational experience.

Stratton Taylor Library, which opened in 2004, features distinguished collections, wireless Internet, study areas, reading rooms, computer stations and classrooms.

A Brief History of RSU

Growth in Learning Facilities

RSU was founded in 1909 as Eastern University Preparatory School in Claremore. The school prepared the daughters and sons of area residents to attend college. Historic Preparatory Hall, known for its iconic gold dome, was the first building on the school's campus.

The Centennial Center, which opened in 2009, has become the centerpiece of the main campus in Claremore. This twolevel, 50,000-square-foot facility combines student development programs under one roof, serves as a central location for students to study and socialize and provides a focal point for the RSU campus in Claremore. The facility also offers ballrooms, conference centers, and meeting rooms for the community.

However, the school closed only a few years after it opened. Taking its place was the storied Oklahoma Military Academy (OMA), which operated on the Hill from 1919 to 1971.

ABOUT RSU

u RSU is Oklahoma’s fastest growing regional university.

Known as the “West Point of the Southwest,” OMA has an extensive register of graduates who became great leaders, both in military and civilian life. More than 2,500 OMA graduates served in the Armed Forces of the United States during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. More than 100 graduates gave their lives in service to their country. In 1971, OMA closed and Claremore Junior College opened on the Hill, serving more than 400 students. The junior college grew rapidly in the 1970s, and by the time it was renamed Rogers State College in 1982, the institution boasted a variety of associate degree programs, distance learning capabilities, a new radio and television station and intercollegiate athletics. In 1999, the Oklahoma Legislature renamed the institution Rogers State University and charged it with seeking accreditation as a four-year university. Accreditation at the baccalaureate level was granted in 2000. RSU offers a wide variety of bachelor's degree programs to students on campuses in Claremore, Bartlesville, Pryor and online.

HILLCAT LIFE PROGRAMS

u Over 120 student-athletes have graduated over the last six years.

Academic Development

The Hillcat Academic Center is located in the basement of Bushyhead Fieldhouse. There, student-athletes have access to a full computer lab with a printer and a classroom that can be utilized for study-hall as well as individual study. Academic advising for all student-athletes is available in the office of the Assistant Athletic Director for Student Development. Counseling for choosing a major and advising for course enrollment are provided, as well as help in obtaining a faculty advisor for those that have chosen a major. Tutors are available for most subjects by athletic department academic tutors in one-on-one or group sessions. Additional tutoring is available through individual academic departments. Hillcat Athletics requires study hall for all freshman and first semester transfer students to attend per week. Weekly study hall time thereafter is required as determined by cumulative GPA.

NCAA Compliance Training

Hillcat student-athletes are educated about NCAA rules and regulations. Including the NCAA regulations of practice and play seasons, outside competition and tryouts, commercial endorsements, boosters, student host recruiting and progress towards a degree.

Hillcat LIFE Programs

The Hillcat LIFE programs are designed to promote student-athletes’ success off the field or court. Each year, RSU introduces a variety of programs to enrich the college experiences of its student-athletes, helping them avoid potential pitfalls and giving them information useful when making important life decisions. The following are some examples of Hillcat LIFE programs: Habitudes for Athletes Habitudes for Athletes is a character-based leadership training program designed to prepare athletes for successful participation in team sports as well as life off the playing field. The Habitudes curriculum uses powerful images to teach important character and leadership principles in an epic fashion that is both engaging and memorable. As a result, the athletes are equipped and empowered to develop healthy life skills that will positively impact their lives.

HILLCAT LIFE PROGRAMS

u Athletics has become an integral part of the campus community, with student-athletes serving as leaders on the field, in the classroom, and in the community.

Social Media Training Rogers State educates and prepares student-athletes to make a positive impact through social media. RSU helps studentathletes understand the risk involved with using social media poorly both currently and in the future. Through social media training athletes are educated of the opportunities of social media in developing themselves for the workplace. Student-athletes learn the impact of current social media interaction can have on their job search. Drug and Alcohol Counseling Student-athletes are made aware of the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse. They are given examples of athletes with promising futures who failed to reach their potential due to drug/alcohol abuse. Dangers of Gambling Student-athletes are warned about the dangers of gambling addictions and also are warned against gambling on collegiate athletics, which is a violation of NCAA rules. Community Engagement Rogers State athletic teams develop relationships with charities and community organizations throughout Claremore and surrounding communities to build relationships with community members. Organizations Hillcat teams have worked with include: TOPSoccer, Safenet, Rogers County Youth Services, Claremore Sequoyah Elementary, First Baptist Church Recovery Program, Claremore’s Westside Elementary, Catoosa Special Olympics, the Claremore Community Center’s Blast program, Operation Christmas Child, Claremore Nursing Home and Inola Elementary. Hillcat teams also took part in Rogers State Univeristy’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service events serving at a Habitat for Humanity site clearing debris and at the Claremore Veterans Center playing Bingo.In the 2012 fall semester, Hillcat athletic teams combined to work over 900 hours with community organizations.

LYNN BLEVINS - HEAD GOLF COACH of Oklahoma, the University of Florida and the University of Iowa over a 15-year period before transitioning to the private golf business sector in 1994. He led the Gators to an SEC Championship in 1985 and spurred the Hawkeyes to a Big 10 crown in 1992. Now, after a 15-year hiatus, Blevins returns to his coaching roots to develop a brand new program.

Former Southeastern Conference and Big 10 Conference Coach of the Year Lynn Blevins enters his fifth season as the head men’s and women’s golf coach at Rogers State University.

Blevins served as the Director of Golf Operations at Scissortail Golf Club in Verdigris, Okla. from 2008-2010. As President and CEO of the Buffalo Golf Group, Inc., Blevins has overseen the construction, start up and management operation of five golf courses over the past 15 years.

In just four years, Blevins has developed the Hillcats into a nationally recognized program as his men’s team earned NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 Poll recognition ranking No. 18 in the preseason and receiving votes in the final poll of 2012. That same year the RSU women finished the season receiving votes while also capturing the program’s first team title.

Blevins began his coaching career at his alma mater where he led the University of Oklahoma men’s golf program from 197981. He spent the next seven years at the University of Florida, directing the Gators to a third place finish at the 1985 NCAA Championship after claiming the SEC title earlier that season. Blevins moved to the University of Iowa in 1990 and won a Big 10 Championship in 1992.

Under the tutelage of Blevins, Bradley Phelps (2012) and Preston Bartley (2013) earned All-Sooner Athletic Conference team honors. Blevins brings over 15 years of head coaching experience at the NCAA Division I level to the Hillcats. He guided the men’s golf programs at the University

MEN’S GOLF OUTLOOK For Rogers State men’s golf an influx of new faces has come together with a new mentality for the Hillcats as the 2013-14 season gets underway.

“So far in qualifying, Henning has by far been the number one player. It’s been a huge surprise, I knew he had the potential, but I hadn’t seen him other than on video,” Blevins said of the Norway native. “So it’s really, really good that he has shown and done all of that.”

With five golfers returning from last year’s squad Head Coach Lynn Blevins is looking to redshirt sophomore Trevor Williams to provide leadership in his third season on The Hill. “I think we finally have some leadership. A coach can only be so many things,” said the Hillcat head coach. “I think Trevor being in his third year brings leadership and knowledge of how we do things. We have some upperclassmen leadership pushing the young players along.”

“Will Lecky is from Canada and has already through five rounds of qualifying been solid and impressed me with his golf game,” said Blevins. “He has great work ethic and competitiveness. It is only going to make us better because of the competitiveness.” Ryan Roberts and Austin Wride will look to make an impact as freshman for coach Blevins’ squad. Roberts was an All-State selection at Edmond Memorial High School after a fourth place team finish at the Oklahoma Class 6A State Tournament. Wride was a four-year varsity member of the Grapevine High School golf team, helping the Mustangs to a District Championship as he shot a final round 69. He was an All-District selection and posted the tournament low round.

Hagen Barmasse is back after averaging a score of 78.21 as a freshman, totaling two rounds under par in his 14 rounds of tournament play. Jenks, Okla. native Aaron Davis returns for his sophomore campaign after appearing in just four tournaments last season. He averaged a versus par score of 5.55 and shot a low round 69 in the third round of the U.C. Ferguson Classic. Two other sophomores, Thomas Reilly and Taylor Schoppa, return after a combined four tournament appearances a season ago.

Not only does the addition of seven new players bring new faces but also a new mentality according to coach Blevins, “It’s important to them. It’s a completely different attitude this year. I’ve always said the difference between when I first started coaching and now, it bothers me that winning doesn’t excite kids and losing doesn’t bother them. This group it does and I’m excited from that stand point.”

Blevins is excited with the addition of seven newcomers to the roster including transfer Tanner Alder. A junior this season, Alder has already assumed a leadership role for the Hillcats this year. “Tanner Alder has already made a big difference in our program. He has a goal and is very focused on it,” said Blevins of the Eastern Arizona College transfer. “Tanner has really stepped up and he leads with his actions and is a really, really good kid.”

Tulsa, Okla. native Eric Moore, a First Tee Future Leaders Forum attendee, joins the Hillcats as a freshman this year. Moore played alongside PGA Professional Corey Pavin at the famous Pebble Beach Golf Course during the First Tee Future Leaders Forum. Connor Schlegel, a Joplin, Mo. native, was an All-District and All-State selection as a junior and senior at McAvley Catholic High School. Schlegel is one of six freshmen on the Hillcat roster this year.

A pair of international players have coach Blevins excited about the group of newcomers. Henning Hogmoen, a native of Norway, had four top 20 finishes as a senior, including a win at the Ostfoldmester Huseby Championship shooting a five-under-par, 65. Williamston, Ontario, Canada native William Lecky joins the Cats after three top five finishes as a senior at Char-lan District High School.

u Trevor Williams looks to provide leadership for the Hillcats in the 2013-14 season.

Blevins stressed the depth of the team this year, “From top to bottom, one through five, we are way deeper. Our fourth and fifth guys will be interchangeable with one and two so we are just going to be way more consistent than we have ever been.” The Hillcats begin the 2013-14 campaign on the road at the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational in Amarillo, Texas at Tascosa Country Club September 16-17. Coach Blevins understands the importance of every shot with the number of talented teams crowding the field of this season’s tournament schedule.

The fall schedule includes trips Durant, Okla., Sherwood, Ark. and Garland, Texas. The spring slate will begin February 10-11 at the Jack Brown Memorial at Laredo Country Club in Texas. The Cats will travel south of the Red River the following two weeks for the San Antonio Shootout and Crawford Wade Invitational before wrapping up the season in late March and early April in Arkansas.

“Last year we were finishing in the bottom half of tournaments. We have got to eliminate mental mistakes and realize that one shot can make a difference,” explained Blevins. “That if four or five guys make that mistake it can cost the team four or five places. I hope these guys will be more competitive day in and day out and be more consistent.”

About: Barmasse posted scores in five tournaments for the Hillcats as a freshman including a 149 (+5) 14th place finish at the UST Mamiya Texas Intercollegiate in March 2013. He posted a low round of 70 (-1) in the opening round of the 2013 NAIA Contender tournament at TPC Four Seasons in Irving, Texas. He joined the Hillcat Golf team after a successful career at Mayde Creek High School. Among his prep accomplishments was beating current teammate and fellow sophomore Thomas Reilly in the TJGT I-10 Junior Championship played at the River Ridge Golf Club in December of 2011. Barmasse shot 77-72—149 to capture medalist honors. As a junior at Mayde Creek High School he spent the entire season on the varsity team and was named to the academic honor roll. Barmasse said he likes to hang out with friends and play golf. He chose RSU “for the golf and the sport management program.”

About: Davis appeared in four tournaments for the Hillcats as a freshman in 2012-13. He tallied scores of 70 (-1) and 69 (-2) in the U.C. Ferguson Classic his first collegiate golf action finishing tied for 26th. Davis came to RSU from Jenks High School where he played three years for the Trojans. In his senior season he finished third at the Class 6A State Regional while helping the Trojans to a third place team finish in the Class 6A State Championship. He had six top 10 finishes in high school including a second place individual finish at the Ada Invitational and sixth place at the Edmond North Tournament his senior year. As a junior Davis helped the Trojans to a second place team finish. He also won the Oklahoma Junior Golf Tour event at Lincoln Park posting scores of 71-68. His sophomore year he won four times on the OJGT, finished third at the state regionals and again helped Jenks to a second place team finish in the state championship. He chose RSU because “it’s a great place to grow as a student and golfer.”

About: Reilly returns for his sophomore season for the Hillcats after competing in three tournaments for RSU as a freshman. He posted a collegiate career low round of 72 (+1) at the 2012 U.C. Ferguson Classic. Reilly tied for 60th out of the 74 player field helping the Cats to a sixth place finish. He joined RSU from James E. Taylor High School in Houston, Texas. As a prep senior he claimed all-district while shooting low scores of 72 and 71. He captured the club championship at Willow Fork Country Club. He was a top five golfer throughout his high school career playing on the varsity squad. In his junior year he helped lead his high school team to a third place finish at district. That same year he once again claimed the Willow Fork Country Club championship. Reilly said he chose RSU because “it is a good school and has a good golf program.”

About: Schoppa returns to the Hill following a freshman season in which he saw action in one tournament for the Hillcats. He came to the Hill from Clements High School in Houston, Texas where he was a four year letter winner. His best finish was a 14th place finish out of 260 golfers as he shot 71-74 his senior season at Clements. Schoppa was named Co-MVP of the Clements golf team. As a junior he helped lead Clements to a state championship appearance while becoming the first junior to receive the sportsmanship award, originally a senior award. Schoppa said he chose RSU to “play golf and get a degree in my desired study.”

Williams spent the 2011-12 campaign, his first season on the Hill, redshirting for RSU. Williams joined RSU from Mansfield High School where he was a member of a Texas State Championship team. He is the son of Tina and Dennis Williams. He said he chose RSU because “The campus was nice and seemed really awesome. I also liked coach Blevins.”

He posted three stellar top-five finishes during his final year at Char-lan District High School. His top five finishes came in the Eastern Ontario High School Championships, Ontario Open, and the OUGA Junior Districts posting scorecards in the 70’s each contest. William collected a fourth place finish in the Ontario Track Championships in the Pole Vault with a height of 14 feet. He chose RSU because “it’s a great school with a great coach and golf program.”

In his junior season he tallied a second place finish at the National Junior Singles Championships with a (-3) 68. Henning said he chose Rogers State for “Coach Blevins and the great golf opportunities.”

About: Wride comes to Rogers State after a stellar prep career as a varsity golfer all four years at Grapevine High School. That landed him on the All-District golf team as he posted the tournament low round. His senior season Wride compiled multiple top-five finishes and made second team All-Region. He said “I chose RSU because they are up and coming with a good program and a good coach.”

About: Alder transfers to the Hill from Eastern Arizona College. His freshman year was spent at Bellevue University where he compiled five top 10 finishes and made an appearance in the NAIA Regional Championship. The next season Alder was a member of the Monster Golf team at Eastern Arizona College where he had a stellar sophomore season. Named a PING All-American and All-Conference selection, he finished with four top-10 finishes leading him to a NJCAA National Championship Appearance. He was on the honor roll with a 3.5 GPA and chose RSU because he “believes RSU and Coach Blevins are an important step to get where I want to be with my education and golf.”

About: Moore joines RSU after leading Tulsa Memorial to many post season appearances during his four year varsity career. Winning the Conference Championship his freshman year with a score of 77 and following that season up with a State Tournament appearance his sophomore year. The Chargers, led by Moore, would go on to finish second in the conference his junior season making the State Tournament once again. His senior season, Moore got the opportunity to compete in the First Tee Future Leaders Forum playing the famous Pebble Beach golf course alongside PGA professional Corey Pavin. Moore chose RSU “to represent Hillcat golf and become an efficient student athlete.”

In those two seasons he helped lead McAvley Catholic to two top five finishes in the Conference Tournament. He made the Horton Smith Cup team and collected team MVP honors both years. The son of Phil and Kim Schlegel, Connor chose RSU because “it is a place I can grow as a student and be involved with a great golf program.”

As a senior he was selected to the All-State golf tournament. He said he chose RSU because of the “good fit for me, loved the campus and liked Coach Blevins.”

2012-2013 MEN’S GOLF SEASON IN REVIEW

u Coach Lynn Blevins led the Hillcats to an NAIA Postseason Coaches’ Poll No. 22 ranking.

October began with a ninth place finish for the Hillcats at the Texoma Championship at Chickasaw Point Golf Resort in the 14 team field. Owens set the pace for RSU finishing in a tie for 17th while Davis finished 21st including a team best even-par 72. Later that month RSU grabbed a tenth place finish at the Northwood Tangle Fall Shootout at Tangle Ridge Golf Club finishing with a 24-over par, 888 in the three-round affair. Owens yet again led the way for RSU as the Fort Gibson, Okla. Native shot even par for the tournament to finish tied for 15th.

In 2012-13, the Rogers State men’s golf team closed the final season as a member of the NAIA ranked No. 22 in the Coaches’ Postseason Top 25 Poll. Despite not making the NAIA National Championship, the Hillcats made a strong finish as members of the Sooner Athletic Conference. Coach Lynn Blevins’ squad finished third in the SAC Championship, led by senior Preston Bartley who carded a three-over par 73 in the final round to finish third individually. Bartley, a Copan, Okla. Native, earned All-Sooner Athletic Conference honors with the top five finish.

The spring slate saw RSU claim eighth place at the 2013 Claud Jacobs Intercollegiate Invitational as Bartley shot a 228, threeround tournament total for a 17th place finish including a best round of 75. Finishing three spots back was senior Tanner Owens who improved each round finishing with a 229 tournament card for 20th place on February 18th.

The Hillcats finished just two strokes out of second place behind No. 11-ranked Wayland Baptist as Oklahoma City University claimed the team title. The strong finish matched what was a strong start for the Cats in the Fall of 2012 as RSU finished eighth in the 13 team field at the U.C. Ferguson Classic at Lincoln Park Golf Course in Oklahoma City. The Hillcats moved up one spot in the final round of play shooting a three-day best 278 finishing ahead of SAC foe Oklahoma Baptist. Bartley fired a 65 as three Hillcat golfers posted under par scores on the final round at the par 71 course. Tanner Owens finished tied for 15th while freshman Aaron Davis finished tied for 26th on the 6,576 yard course.

A week later Blevins’ squad improved by 18 strokes from the first round to round two of the shortened San Antonio Shootout. The stroke a hole turnaround by the Cats resulted in a fifth place finish after dangerous wind conditions shortened the tournament to just two rounds of action. Owens led the way once again for the Cats shooting a tournament total 152 to tie for seventh including a one-over par 73 in the final round.

2012-2013 MEN’S GOLF SEASON IN REVIEW March saw the Hillcats finish 11th in the 2013 NAIA Contender at TPC Four Seasons in Irving, Texas. After shooting 303-319 on the opening day the Cats fired a third and final round 321. Hagen Barmasse led RSU shooting a one-under par, 70 in the opening round and finished tied for 19th. A week later the Hillcats claimed an eighth place finish in the 13 team field in the UST Mamiya Texas Intercollegiate at Hawks Creek Golf Course. RSU trailed No. 2-ranked Oklahoma City University by three strokes for seventh place following the final round of action. Freshmen Hagen Barmasse and Garrett Fey led RSU shooting duplicate rounds of 76-73—149 as the pair tied for 16th on the par 72, 6,893 yard course. An even-par 72 for Tanner Owens was followed by a 79 in the final round for a tie of 22nd. In the final tune-up prior to the SAC Championship the Hillcat men tied future Heartland Conference foe Newman University for seventh with a team tournament 923 total. Preston Bartley led RSU with a top 10 finish as he tied for ninth shooting a 225 tournament total. Garrett Fey tied at 21st, seven strokes ahead of teammate Tanner Owens who penciled a 237 tournament card and tie for 48th. Five Hillcats are set to return for the 2013-14 season as seniors Tanner Owens and Preston Bartley saw their collegiate careers come to a close. Owens, a four-year member of the Hillcat golf team, finishes his career with a program high 36 tournament appearances and finished with an average score of 75.75 in 89 rounds competed. A three-year member of the RSU golf team, Bartley holds the program record low round of 65, six-under par, twice in his career. First in the first round of the 13th Annual NSU Golf Classic during the 2011-12 season and then again this season in the third round of the U.C. Ferguson Classic.

WOMEN’S GOLF OUTLOOK The 2012-13 season of Hillcat women’s golf could be summed up with one word: Depth. The depth of the field of quality teams in tournaments on the Rogers State schedule this season and the depth of talent up and down the Hillcat roster.

The depth of the Hillcats roster begins with senior Whitney Hocutt. Entering her fourth season with the Hillcats, the Claremore, Okla., native holds career records for Low 54 Hole Total, Low 36 Hole Total, and Low Round Versus Par.

Entering the fifth year of Hillcat Golf, Head Coach Lynn Blevins has compiled the toughest test for his women’s squad in program history with a schedule that will challenge his young team. The Hillcat skipper pointed to the depth of the talented teams at the Hillcats scheduled tournaments for the 201314 slate.

Blevins spoke of his lone senior, “Whitney’s leadership is really, really good.” Sophomores Chelsea Burney, Kelsey Stuever and Raquel Trevino return for the 2013-14 campaign. “Kelsey and Chelsea both provide a solid core of what I think we need to do to continue as a program,” the Hillcat head coach said of Stuever and Burney.

“We are playing a lot harder schedule than we have played in the past,” said Blevins. “We usually finished middle of the pack and even won some. But now playing in Division II tournaments and 12 team fields, we could finish fifth or sixth and it be a really good tournament.”

Stuever played in all ten tournaments for the Hillcats as a freshman averaging a versus par score of 15.55. Burney saw action in eight tournaments, averaging a versus par score of 15.19 in her freshman season on the Hill. “Raquel has the ability to be our best player,” Blevins said of the Houston, Texas native. “I feel good about the core coming back, because it’s something we can build on.”

The season begins September 16-17 at Lincoln Park Golf Course in Oklahoma City at the OCU Stars Fall Invitational before traveling to Amarillo, Texas for the West Texas A&M hosted Lady Buff Stampede at Tascosa Country Club the first Monday of October.

Trevino will look to build upon a freshman season that saw her post a team-best average of 81.25 for a versus par average of 9.45. She tallied a team-best finish at the Diffee Ford Lincoln Invitational tying for fourth with an 83-79— 162 finish helping the Hillcats to its lone team title of 2012-13.

October 14-15 at Golf Club of Dallas, the Hillcats will compete in the Dallas Baptist Invitational before wrapping up its four-tournament fall slate at the Arkansas-Monticello Fall Classic at The Greens at North Hills, October 21-22.

Joining the five Hillcat returners are four newcomers that have coach Blevins excited not only for the upcoming season but also for the future.

The RSU spring schedule spans from February to April, totaling six tournaments, with four trips to Texas. RSU stays in the state of Oklahoma for the Crimson Storm Invitational March 34. The season will come to a conclusion March 31-April 1 at the Natural State Invitational in Hebner Springs, Ark., at The Red Apple Inn & Country Club.

“I’m excited about what we have coming in and I think they have really bought into what it takes to succeed,” said Blevins of the recruiting class.

Another player from the Sooner State, Morgan Brown helped lead the Henryetta Lady Knights to the State Tournament four consecutive years, collecting two regional championships. “Morgan is going to add depth,” said Blevins. “The competition to make the top five is going to be really competitive and is really pushing these girls to work really hard to get better.”

Michelle Tierney made the journey from Ireland to join the Hillcats in 2013. As a junior she helped the province of Munster panel capture the Irish Interprovincials Championship for the first time in 25 years. “The freshman from Ireland, Michelle Tierney, is a real pleasant surprise. I didn’t get to see her in person and only saw her swing on video,” said Blevins. “Her work ethic, commitment, and attitude are better than I ever expected. She is ready to compete at this level.”

Rounding out the recruiting class is Carrollton, Texas native Mica Eastin. The freshman reached postseason play in her three years at Creekview High School. The depth of the women’s team has Blevins expecting more consistency and competition for the upcoming year, “To play in the top five really means something and means a lot to these women,” said Blevins. “I think our women’s team has the potential to be competitive in tournaments day in and day out for the first time.”

Kina Boone joins the Cats from Choctaw, Okla. where she finished in the Top 10 of the Oklahoma Class 6A Individual State Championship as a junior and senior. “Kina Boone, I think, will be an exceptional player as time goes on.”

As a sophomore she was named team MVP competing in all 10 tournaments averaging a score of 81.67 in 18 rounds including a low round of 75. Her best finish was tied for second at the OBU Spring Invitational at Shawnee Country Club. The Claremore native placed second at the OBU Invitational as a freshman as she was named RSU team MVP the same year. She came to RSU to play golf and to further her education. In high school, she was a golf standout winning two tournaments and earning All-State honors. Hocutt shot a 77 at the conference tournament in 2009 and earned All-Conference honors.

2012-2013 WOMEN’S GOLF SEASON IN REVIEW The Rogers State women’s golf team closed out its final season as a member of the NAIA in 2012-13 with a No. 22 postseason coaches’ poll ranking. The season began in September with a ninth place finish at the NSU Women’s Golf Classic at Cherry Spring Golf Club in Tahlequah, Okla. Junior Whitney Hocutt led the way for the Cats firing 78-81 for a tournament card of 159 to tie for 15th. The par 72, 5,847-yard course allowed the HIllcats to finish ahead of NCAA Division II members Nebraska-Kearney, Fort Hays State, and Central Missouri in a tournament field loaded with 10 Division II teams. As the calendar turned to October the Hillcats traveled to Oklahoma City for the OCU Stars Fall Classic at Lincoln Park Golf Course. The 6,001-yard, par-72 course tested RSU but coach Lynn Blevins’ squad used a stroke swing from the first round to the second day to hold steady at seventh place finishing in front of Sooner Athletic Conference rival Oklahoma Baptist. Hocutt once again led the Cats tying for 14th with a 157 tournament total. Cecilie Nordahl made a ten spot move on day two to finish tied for 18th firing a six-over par 78 in the second round. The end of October saw the Hillcat women claim its first top five team finish as RSU corralled a fifth place finish in the nine team field at the HSU Lady Reddie Invitational in Glenwood, Ark. The par 72, 5,834-yard course at Glenwood Country Club provided the perfect opportunity for freshman Raquel Trevino to make her presence known on the 2012-13 Hillcat team. The Pasadena, Texas native led the Hillcats with a 10th place finish firing rounds of 80-78 penciling a 158 score. The Cats finished just five strokes behind fourth place East Central (Okla.) as RSU totaled a 666 score. As the 2013 Spring semester got under way the Hillcats finished in fifth place at the 2013 Claud Jacobs Intercollegiate Invitational on February 18. RSU finished behind four teams ranked in the NAIA Coaches’ Poll Top 15 as Trevino picked up right where she had ended in the final tournament of the Fall. The freshman tied for 15th shooting a pair of 78’s for a 156 tournament card. RSU finished three spots ahead of No. 23 University of TexasBrownsville as the Cats shot a team 641 total. Whitney Hocutt finished tied for 19th with a two-day total of 157 while Kelsey Steuver shot 163 on the two-round tournament to tie for 31st. The first week of March saw the Hillcats capture its lone team title of the year as Blevins’ squad finished nine strokes ahead of NCAA Division II Harding University at the Diffee Ford Lincoln Invitational in Edmond, Okla. at Kickingbird Golf Club. u As a freshman, Raquel Trevino led RSU with an average score of 81.25 playing in all 10 tournaments.

2012-2013 WOMEN’S GOLF SEASON IN REVIEW Nordahl tied for 36th place with a 165 tournament card. The Hillcats finished two strokes shy of 11th place UA Fort Smith. The onslaught of tournaments in March continued with the 2013 Bluebonnet Classic at Tangle Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Hill, Texas. The 25th-ranked Hillcats took fifth place in the 12 team field finishing 32 strokes ahead of sixth place Oklahoma Baptist. Trevino led the Cats once again shooting a pair of 80’s on the par 72, 5,980-yard course to tie for 15th place. Another first year Hillcat, Chelsea Burney, carded a 163 over the two-day event for 20th place. Burney tied a team low 76 matching the opening round posted by Whitney Hocutt. The Claremore, Okla. native finished tied for 27th with a 169 overall score. The Hillcats were able to make the largest move in the second NAIA Women’s Golf Coaches’ Top 25 Poll later that week as Blevins’ squad jumped four spots to No. 21 in the poll.

With five NCAA Division II teams packed in the six team field the Hillcats overcame 22 mile per hour winds in the second round led by Trevino who claimed a tie for fourth. The Texas native shot a tournament low nine-over par 79 in the second round at the par 70, 5,821-yard course. Trevino posted a 162 tournament total while fellow Freshman Kelsey Stuever tied for seventh with a 165 tournament card.

In its final tune-up prior to the Sooner Athletic Conference Championship the No. 21-ranked Hillcats improved by 19 strokes in the second round to claim second place at the OBU Spring Invitational at Earlywine Golf Club in Oklahoma City. The par 72, 5,896-yard course saw coach Blevins’ squad post a 651 team total led the junior Hocutt. She returned to form firing a five-over par 77 in the second round to finish in sixth place with a 15-over par tournament card 159.

A week later in the 21 team field at the Texoma Chevy Dealers Lion Intercollegiate at Tanglewood Resort in Pottsboro, Texas the Hillcat women finished in 10th place in the two round tournament.

Trevino remained sharp with a 162 tournament card and ninth place finish while sophomore Cecilie Nordahl tied for 12th as she improved by ten strokes in day two with a round of 77.

After sitting in third place following the opening round, Trevino struggled in the second round and finished in 18th place. Sophomore Cecilie Nordahl however saw day two more promising as she fired a ten-over par 82 on the 5,802-yard, par 72 course to finish tied for 29th.

In the final SAC Championship in Hillcat history, RSU started slow trailing No. 25-ranked Oklahoma Baptist by one shot. The Cats improved by 28-strokes to move past the Bison as RSU claimed fourth place. Pasadena, Texas native Raquel Trevino claimed eighth place as she shot 166 to lead RSU.

Later that week the NAIA released the first edition of its 2013 Women’s Golf Coaches’ Top 25 Poll and the Hillcats entered the rankings for the first time in program history at No. 25. RSU joined four other Sooner Athletic Conference teams in the first poll.

Brooke Fern tied for 14th with a 173 two-day total firing rounds of 89-84 while Nordahl claimed 16th place with a 175 tournament card. The No. 21-ranking wasn’t enough to send the Hillcats to the NAIA Women’s Golf National Championship and the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament proved to be the final contest for RSU as a member of the SAC and the NAIA.

With a No. 25 ranking the Cats headed to the Midwestern State Invitational for a two-round tournament at Wichita Falls Country Club. The 18 team field was loaded with 16 NCAA Division II teams and the Hillcats with a 662 team total shot 56 strokes ahead of Texas Wesleyan, the only other NAIA institution, as RSU finished in 12th place.

ABOUT THE HEARTLAND CONFERENCE The Heartland Conference is an NCAA Division II conference, founded in 1999, that currently consists of 10 schools, six from Texas, two from Oklahoma, and one each from Arkansas and Kansas. The schools comprising the Heartland Conference stretch from as far north as Wichita, Kan., as far east as Fort Smith, Ark., as far south as Laredo, Texas, and as far west as Goodwell, Oklahoma. The Conference stretches over a distance of 1,050 miles north to south and 610 east to west. The schools that are in the Heartland Conference include founding members St. Edward's University (Austin, Texas), and St. Mary’s University (San Antonio, Texas), and expansion members Dallas Baptist University (Dallas, Texas) in 2002 and again in 2004, Oklahoma Panhandle State University (Goodwell, Oklahoma) in 2002, and Newman University (Wichita, Kansas), Texas A&M International University (Laredo, Texas) and The University of Texas of the Permian Basin (Odessa, Texas) in 2006, the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith (2009), McMurry University and Oklahoma Christian University in 2012, and Rogers State and Lubbock Christian in 2013. Among the many accomplishments of these institutions are national championships in baseball, golf, swimming, basketball, softball, and nationally ranked teams in all sports. The strength of the student-athlete concept is well supported by the many NCAA scholar-athletes in each school, the high cumulative GPA of the student-athletes in each school, and the high number of student-athletes who graduate from each institution in the Heartland. The Heartland Conference is the newest of the NCAA Division II conferences. At the present time, there are 24 conferences in NCAA Division II, totaling almost 300 institutions in full or provisional status across the nation. Members of NCAA Division II believe that a well-conducted intercollegiate athletics program, based on sound educational principles and practices, is a proper part of the educational mission of a university or college and that the educational welfare of the participating student-athlete is of primary concern.

ABOUTâ&#x20AC;&#x2C6;THEâ&#x20AC;&#x2C6;HEARTLANDâ&#x20AC;&#x2C6;CONFERENCE Members of NCAA Division II support the following principles in the belief that these objectives assist in defining the division and the possible differences between it and other divisions of the Association. This statement shall serve as a guide for the preparation of legislation by the division and for planning and implementation of programs by institutions and conferences. A member of Division II: u Believes in promoting the academic success of its student-athletes, measured in part by an institution's student-athletes graduating at least at the same rate as the institution's student body; u Believes that participation in intercollegiate athletics benefits the educational experience of its student-athletes and the entire campus community; u Believes in offering opportunities for intercollegiate athletics participation consistent with the institution's mission and philosophy; u Believes in preparing student-athletes to be good citizens, leaders and contributors in their communities; u Believes in striving for equitable participation and competitive excellence, encouraging sportsmanship and ethical conduct, enhancing diversity and developing positive societal attitudes in all of its athletics endeavors; u Believes in scheduling the majority of its athletics competition with other members of Division II, insofar as regional qualification, geographical location and traditional or conference scheduling patterns permit; u Recognizes the need to "balance" the role of the athletics program to serve both the campus (participants, student body, faculty-staff) and the general public (community, area, state); u Believes in offering opportunity for participation in intercollegiate athletics by awarding athletically related financial aid to its student-athletes; u Believes that institutional control is a fundamental principle that supports the educational mission of a Division II institution and assumes presidential involvement and commitment. All funds supporting athletics should be controlled by the institution. The emphasis for an athletics department should be to operate within an institutionally approved budget, and compliance with and self-enforcement of NCAA regulations is an expectation of membership; and u Believes that all members of Division II should commit themselves to this philosophy and to the regulations and programs of Division II.

The Rogers State University Hillcat Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) mission is to foster open communication between student-athletes and the athletics administration, and to enhance the studentathlete experience by developing leadership skills, promoting a positive student-athlete image, and improving the day-to-day life of all student-athletes through activities, social events, and community service. Membership

SAAC membership will be composed of two representatives from each sport. Members must be academically and athletically eligible, and must be of sophomore standing or higher. Members must adhere to and support the purpose of the SAAC, and attend scheduled meetings unless previously excused. If absent members must make arrangements for a temporary alternate representative from their sport to attend. One member of the athletics department administration shall serve as the SAAC advisor. RSU HILLCAT SPORTS INFORMATION SERVICES The “Hillcat” was developed and officially unveiled to the campus in 2005 by RSUPR – the university’s Office of Public Relations – with the assistance of SME Branding of New York, N.Y.

Interviews

All interviews should be setup through the sports information office. RSU head coaches are available throughout the week, mainly in the morning. Student-athletes are also available for interviews, typically right before or after practice. Most Hillcat teams practice between 3:00 p.m and 5:00 p.m. during the week. Credentials Request for credentials to athletic events should be made at least 48 hours in advance of the event and directed to the sports information office. Spouses, dates, children and non-working media will not be given a pass or assigned a seat on press row. RSU does not provide parking passes to the media.

Style Guidelines u When making a proper name ending in s possessive, DO NOT add an s: i.e. Coach Blevins’, NOT Coach Blevins’s. u In athletic media communications and publications, DO NOT use the term Lady Hillcats or Lady Cats. Hillcats, Cats, Softball Cats, Diamond Cats (baseball), etc. are acceptable. u Refer to the institution as Rogers State on first mention in news releases or other communications about sports events. The words university or college are understood in such releases, and are a commonly accepted practice within athletics.

Gameday Services

RSU’s sports information office produces media guides for men’s and women’s soccer and game notes for men’s and women’s soccer games, which include rosters, schedules and statistical leaders. Opponents are asked to supply RSU -- either via fax, email or with a link to availability on the web -- with detailed rosters, up-to-date statistics and season scores, for use in our game day notes no later than a day before the event. Visiting media seating is available in the press box at Soldier Field, RSU asks that those requests be made to the Sports Information Department no late than a day in advance. Following a home event, RSU will supply all results to both home and visiting media. RSU always contacts the Claremore Progress, Tulsa World, Daily Oklahoman, and local TV and sports/news radio stations with scores and statistics (where applicable).

RSU uses the StatCrew statistics programs for men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and softball. The “Hillcat” is a fictitious cousin of the bobcat, which is indigenous to northeast Oklahoma. The “Hillcat” also draws its name from “College Hill,” a traditional nickname for RSU. Rogers State University is responsible for the actions of its coaches, student-athletes and staff, as well as its alumni, boosters and fans. The following information is intended to help educate athletic boosters and organizations, so they can best support RSU athletes without putting the institution or the individual studentathletes at risk. If you have any questions or would like to seek clarification regarding your actions as a supporter of Hillcat athletics, please call the athletic compliance office at 918-343-7988 or email RSU's NCAA Compliance Coordinator, Eddie Jackson at ejackson@rsu.edu.

u Attend athletic contests where prospects compete, but may not contact the prospect or the prospect's relatives u Continue existing friendships with families of prospects, but not attempt to recruit u Participate with prospects in organized institutional community engagement activities when prospects reside within 100-mile radius of location (Effective 8/1/07)

What is a booster?

A booster may not provide a student-athlete any benefit or special arrangement that would not be offered to the rest of the general student population. This would include:

You are a Booster or Representative of Athletic Interests, if you: u Have participated in, or ever have been, a member of a booster organization that supports RSU athletics;

u May not entertain student-athletes or their friends or family;

u Have made any financial contribution to the RSU athletic department or any athletic organization of the University;

u May not use the name or picture of an enrolled studentathlete to advertise, recommend, or promote any product or service;

u Have been involved in the recruitment of a prospect or have been asked to assist in the recruitment of a prospective student-athlete;

u May not provide awards or gifts to student-athletes; u May not allow a student-athlete to use a telephone to make free calls, or allow use of a free or discounted auto mobile;

u Have provided or are providing benefits to an enrolled student-athlete or his or her relatives or friends; u Have otherwise been involved in promoting the RSU athletic program;

u May not provide a student-athlete free or reduced cost goods or services;

u Have helped arrange employment for student-athletes;

NOTE: An enrolled student-athlete may be invited to a booster's home for an occasional home-cooked meal, but may not be taken to a restaurant.

u Are a parent or guardian of an enrolled student-athlete; u Are or have ever been a season-ticket holder.

Employment

NOTE: Once someone has been identified as a Booster, they will retain that identity forever.

Recruiting

A student-athlete may be employed so long as compensation is only for work actually performed, at a rate commensurate with the going rate in that locality for similar work, and the student-athlete was not hired based on athletics ability.

A prospective student-athlete is any person who has begun classes in the ninth grade. A prospective student-athlete remains so even after signing a National Letter of Intent or accepting financial aid and until they report for the first day of classes.

NOTE: Employment may be arranged for a prospect provided the employment does not begin before the completion of the prospect's senior year of high school.

What are Boosters prohibited from doing?

RSU is responsible for the actions of its boosters and booster support groups. Boosters are regulated by the same NCAA rules and regulations placed upon all institutional athletics staff members.

What is a prospective student-athlete?

u Contacting a prospect in person on or off campus u Writing or telephoning a prospect or member of the prospect's family

Consequences

If a booster provides an impermissible benefit to a prospect, a student-athlete, or their relatives or friends, institutions may be subject to penalties, even if the student-athlete has completed his or her eligibility. A prospect or student-athlete who accepts an impermissible benefit faces the loss of eligibility.

u Making arrangements for the prospect or the prospect's relatives or friends to receive money or financial aid u Providing transportation for a prospect or the prospect's family or friends to visit the campus u Providing free tickets or reduced priced tickets to attend an athletic event to the prospect or the prospect's family or friends u Entertaining coaches of prospects

HILLCAT ATHLETIC FACILITIES

u The centerpiece of the Diamond Sports Complex is the two-story building, completed in 2012, positioned between the baseball and softball playing fields.

Diamond Sports Complex

The Diamond Sports Complex, home to Hillcat Baseball and Softball, sits on the northwest corner of RSU's Claremore Campus featuring a professional playing surface, large inning-by-inning scoreboard, batting cages adjacent to the home dugout and spacious grandstand and lawn chair areas for fans. A large locker room is located behind the Hillcat dugout that includes individual lockers, coaches’ office, bathrooms, showers and a 42-inch flat screen television. Lights were installed in time for the 2008 season. The centerpiece at the Diamond Sports Complex is a 7,790 square-feet, two-story building positioned between the playing fields and completed in time for the start of the 2012-13 academic year. The first floor includes concessions and restrooms for patrons as well as two dressing rooms for umpires and multiple storage areas. The second floor features separate press boxes for baseball and softball, coaches’ offices, and a donors’ suite with indoor and outdoor seating. New grandstands with stadium seating, a ticket booth, and a paved entry plaza were also included in the project.

Claremore Expo Center

Claremore Expo Center serves as the Home of Hillcat basketball on game nights. It is also utilized as a secondary practice facility for the men's and women's basketball teams. The Expo features arena seating on all four sides of the court for 2,000. A four-sided digital scoreboard adorns center court accompanied by professional playing goals with three-sided shot clocks on each end of the floor. A stateof-the-art sound system helps produce a fun atmosphere for fans and often creates a hostile environment for opponents. The Expo Center is located less than a mile from the RSU campus on Highway 20 in Claremore.

u RSU Basketball has called the Claremore Expo Center home since the inception of Hillcat Basketball for the 2007-08 season.

HILLCAT ATHLETIC FACILITIES

u The Hillcat Athletics Center (left) was completed in 2012 as was the artificial turf surface on Soldier Field.

Hillcat Athletics Center

The Hillcat Athletics Center for the RSU soccer and cross country teams began construction in October 2011 and was completed prior to the 2012-13 academic year. The 8,986 square-foot building is located in the north end zone of Soldier Field, adjacent to Blue Starr Drive. The facility features spacious locker rooms for the men’s and women’s soccer teams as well as the men’s and women’s cross country teams. Coaches’ offices, an athletic training room, and storage areas for athletics and intramurals are located in the central area of the building. The facility also includes permanent concessions and restrooms for patrons and a paved concourse area with sightlines to the field.

Soldier Field

Soldier Field is located in the heart of the RSU campus. The facility was originally constructed as a venue for the Oklahoma Military Academy's football games. The field has been widened and resurfaced and a new digital scoreboard has been added in the south end zone. Soldier Field also features a large press box, lights, a public address system and stadium seating for a great view of the action. Installation of the new turf began following the conclusion of the 2011 RSU soccer season in November 2011 and was completed in May 2012. The artificial turf surface allows RSU to maximize the availability and functionality of historic Soldier Field. The durability of artificial turf permits the university to utilize Soldier Field for athletic training and competition, intramural sports, and other student activities and community events.

Bushyhead Fieldhouse

Bushyhead Field House serves as the on-campus practice facility for RSU's men's and women's basketball teams. The gym recently received a complete makeover which included refurbishing and repainting the floor, the addition of six new goals, new digital scoreboards and the installation of portable seating with a capacity of 300. Bushyhead is also the home of the athletic department offices as well as the RSU Wellness Center - a private weight training facility for student-athletes. Bushyhead houses both the men's and women's basketball locker rooms, an athletic training room, an academic tutoring center for student-athletes and public restrooms. The Hillcats play their home games in the Claremore Expo Center, located one mile south of campus.

Homecoming Week

The university celebrated the first-ever Homecoming during the first week of November 2007, during the first Hillcat men’s and women’s basketball games. At RSU, Homecoming is a campus-wide tradition. A bonfire is typically held the night before the big games in the open area west of the University Village B student apartments.

A campus office decoration competition is held during Homecoming Week, in which students and staff members compete to show their Hillcat pride.

The Hillcat Hacker Invitational is a fun-ﬁlled golf event played amidst the hazards of Rogers State University’s scenic Claremore campus. The game features special nondestructive golf balls and is designed for pros, amateurs and hackers alike. The goal of this event is to generate camaraderie among the university’s friends and alumni, showcase RSU’s beautiful and historic campus and establish an outstanding Hillcat Homecoming tradition.

The Slam Dunk Contest and 3-point Shootout has become a yearly tradition held on the Thursday of Homecoming Week.
