Acknowledgements Some of the people I want to think for inspiring me to write these are my Uncle who’s in the Army. He’s Responsible for the entire first part of the anthology. The second part is dedicated to my family. For all the fun and life that we have together. The third part of my stories is dedicated to Ms. Sullivan. For letting we read Lord of the Flies. All the other writing prompts that she gave us. Thank you all for the inspiration.

Part 1
Bio Sketch The reasons for writing this part of my anthology are for almost everything in my life. My mom’s side of the family has been in a war of the men’s side. Someday I plan to keep the pattern going. I have one uncle in the war right now. Another reason is for all the soldiers over there right now. There protecting our country with their lives. This is why I wrote this part of my anthology.

The Never Ending War I was on the helicopter thinking of all the things going on back home. My commander started telling us what to do. My team was made up of a lot of my friends from school. We were all sitting there as the sound of gunshots got louder. We were finally at our drop zone when our back router was blown off. My commander was thrown from the helicopter immediately into a brick wall. The helicopter crashed and there we lay, Scattered all over the ground. It was something like out of the movie Black Hawk Down. I got up and ran over to my commander. He had blood coming out of his mouth, ears, and nose. Right about that time, we started getting heavy fire. I drug my commander to a concrete building where the rest of my team was sheltered. We cleared a table and lifted our commander on to it. He died a couple minutes later because of blood loss. Because of his death, I became second in charge. We found a back door out of the house. The sound of gun shots had ceased. We slowly walked down the alley way to an open street. There weren’t any bad guy’s in sight. I started sending my guys over to the other alley way. The last guy I sent across got shot by a technical. There were cars all over the highway. I started using them for cover as I made my way to my injured man. He was right in the middle of the street. The firing from the technical had increased. My rookie and I were pinned down. I ordered my men to open fire on the technical, but to stay under cover. About a couple minutes in a fire fight, the technical stopped firing. 6
He had to reload. We all opened fire on him dropping him. We then proceeded to carry our wounded man to cover in the other alley way. We then had time to see what was wrong with our guy. He had been shot just above the knee and was bleeding bad. The bullet went through and through. We started trying to patch him up the best we could. The next thing we know, He starts going to shock because of blood loss. He then went out and never came back. We lost him right there in that alley way. We stayed in that position for as long as we could before moving on. We carried him to where there was supposed to be a group of humvee’s to pick us up. They were supposed to be just two blocks down at the evac sight. When we got there, there was just only emptiness. We went into an abandoned shop that looked like an old abandoned parts place to wait till the evac got there. Hours past, Still no sign of anything, then we heard what sounded like vehicles. We stayed inside behind walls and tool boxes. One of my men got the bright idea that it was our men and ran outside. Second later he was hitting the ground. He had been shot from the direction the vehicles were coming. He had been shot in the chest. We could get to him, it would have been suicide. He started trying to crawl back inside when he was shot in the side of the head. Our guy had been killed in action (KIA). After that gunfire just started going everywhere. We tried to find a back door to the shop, but no luck. We found a stare well leading to the roof. We ran up the stare well and up to the roof. When we got to the roof, we laid down. I crawled over to the edge and peaked over. I saw them loading something into the back of the truck, but couldn’t recognize it. I turned to my men and counted them. We 7
were missing one. I started hearing screams from the back of the truck. I then realized what they were loading up. It was our guy who was screaming. We couldn’t risk hitting him so we didn’t open fire. Then the truck took of down the empty street until we couldn’t see it. We radioed in to see if we could pursue the truck, but no answer back. So at the time I asked my guys if they wanted to wait for the evac or pursue the truck. They all agreed to pursue the truck. We headed north, the direction the truck headed. We followed the tracks that we could see in the dirt. The more we followed the tracks the smokier it got. Finally we got to the source of the black smoke. There was a Humvee set on fire in the middle of this run down town. The only noise came from the fire. There was no one in sight so we looked for the track and got out of there. We started our hunt again for our man. It was about six when we found were the tracks ended. There was no sign of life anywhere and it was getting dark. We were sneaking around trying not to stir up any attention it there was any. It was almost pitch black outside. We stopped and were leaning against a building taking a quick break. Then out of nowhere, there was a bright light at the end of the building. We became as still as possible. More and more bright lights started coming on. There was a large group of guys with guns walked by. One main guy was barking orders to everyone else. More than likely it was a search party for us. We waited till they passed and were off in the distance. We started searching every house for our man. We had to use stealth while trying to find him. We split up to cover more area. We were almost done when we stumbled over what looked like a bunker. We viewed it from a distance. There was 8
Afghanistan soldiers patrolling the base. We would have to take them out before entering the base. We patrolled, setting up points so each of us could take them out before entering the base. The base was about the length of a football field all the way around. The roof was a dome. It was morning now, so we all could see well than at night. I circled around trying to find my men where they were supposed to be. Almost everyone in my group was there, except for one. There were tracks going into where they were positioned. Then dragging scars on the ground.

Part 2
Bio Sketch I wrote these stories for my anthology because it’s who I am. It’s some of the things that I like to do. These are for what I am and what I like to do for fun. There are several Things that I like to do, but these are the best. They have not changed ever in my life.
10
This is me James Is tall, fluffy, funny Offspring of Randall and Liz Lover of family, football, and games Who feels pain? Who gives laughter, pain? Who fears teachers, principals? Who would like to see anything? Who lives in Hindsville, AR? 11

Downhill Game I couldn’t have asked for a better day. Here I was cheering on the Razorbacks; what better way can you spend an afternoon. Then the game just went downhill. The opposing team,
12
Alabama started scoring touchdowns. By the end of the game it was 52 to 0.
Making a Difference 13
One voice can affect the decision. It can affect the situation by speaking out. Like in Twelve Angry Men, it was one against eleven and that one persuaded all eleven to go the other way and choose different. They had the decision to send the defendant away but that on man stood up and changed everyone’s mind. He basically saved a man’s life of not going to jail when everyone else was going to find him guilty but instead they found him innocent.

Hunting for the One I was in the middle of the wood in my tree stand with my crossbow. I had been doing this for most of the past two years of my life. I was waiting for a deer to cross my sights and I was just about to go home when a deer jumped of the fence. I pointed my crossbow and shot. The energy from seeing the deer drop was crazy. The arrow went through and through and stuck into the ground.
Represent I would represent a soldier’s gun. When he needs a weapon, I will be there. When he goes into combat, I will be there. 15
When him and others are pinned down and at need the most, I will be there. I will be with him till the war is over. When he is gunned down and dies, I will be there by his side until they come and pick us up. Then I will go to the next soldier and do the same as I have done with the soldiers before him. I would symbolize character to my country. I would not fall and be used by the enemy .
Part 3

Bio Sketch
These stories where just for fun. They are all kind of like something wacky. All they do is tell what fun to write about for me is. They all just don’t stay on one thing, but have fun with them.
Mother Nature We knew that she was coming. There was nothing but black until we moved the blind. It was pitch black out. 17
Then she attacked, the wind was like screams. Thunder like a bunch of cannons going off at once.
Hiding to move forward Theme of the story is about the fears and goods of life. The older you get the bigger your fears become because there 18
are less places to hide from the things you have to do when you grow up. The goods are that you get to do things you couldn’t do when you were young. You can stand up and face your fears.
Choosing a God
19
If I could be a God it would have to be Ares, God of War. I would use my powers to stop the war going on right now and reunite all of the families back together.
Being Afraid 20
The boys are afraid of a beast. They thought it was a snake then a ghost. They were all scared when Percival said he saw something at dark moving in the trees. He didn’t know what it was. The boys do have a good reason for being scared on the island. John said he saw something come out of the water, I would be scared so I guess they had a good reason to be scared and all the talk about the snakes, ghosts and the beast made them pretty scared.
Once you leave, you can’t come back 21
They will only pick someone who they think will help them become the bigger group of the rest. The consequences for leaving the group after you have joined is being banned form that group. You will never be able to come back to that group. They might scold you or something if you leave.
