Dedication I dedicate this to my bff who always supports me and gives me my inspiration to be a better writer.

Part One: About Me This collection includes all those things that describe me. They tell who I am and what I represent. It tells you a little about what like to do. It shares what my past experiences have made me become. And if you dig deep enough, what I just might become.

Track and Field Something I’m good at is long jumping. I may not be the best, but it’s definitely a skill I could master with a little more practice. To effectively long jump, you have to have enough forward momentum to carry you at least to the pit. The next thing you need to do is get your steps set up so you are hitting the board and jumping with your strongest foot. While you are in midair, you have to tuck your legs and arms in to go the furthest. By combining those three steps, you will have the maximum jumping capacity and will go the farthest.

Dirt It was a rainy summer day and me and a couple of friends were witting outside. The rain felt so good. It was hot all summer and we were finally getting a break. One of my friends decided she wanted to practice her gymnastics routine, and she wanted me to spot her for her back hand spring. As she was running toward me, she slipped. Her leg caught mine as she was falling. We both ended up on the ground. Her sister was sitting on the porch just laughing. I got up and looked down at myself. I was literally covered in mud from head‌to toe.

Salvation

Running…Running is my fresh air when it’s hard to breath. It’s the light to my dark; the sun to my moon. Running is what keeps me sane. Without it, I would be too far gone to come back. It keeps mu feet on the ground and my head out of the clouds. Running I the balance I so desperately need. It keeps me right where I want to be. If only I find a guy who would be as kind to me as running is. I want a guy to be my gravity, holding me to the Earth.

8

Me

I represent awesomeness. Awesomeness is a great symbol to represent. It represents everything that is …. Well, awesome. I am awesome because I’m smart. I get all A’s in all of my classes. I’ve never had a B or below on my report card. Another reason I’m awesome is because I’m pretty, although I don’t understand it. To be honest, I don’t see how I’m pretty at all but hey what the heck right? If people say you are something then it must be true right? Well if it is, then I definitely am awesome because people tell me that I am all the time.

9

Two for One

Your heart and mind. For certain situations you have to rely on one or the other. Usually your heart and mind don’t work together. It’s kind of an either or. Either you go with the logical choice or you go with how you feel and follow your heart. Usually I go with what my mind tell me, but sometimes I just let loose. Letting your emotions control you can be a good or a bad thing. Going with your mind all the time can make you seem like a robot. It’s good to have balance. Pick the one you know will make you a better person.

10

Part 2: Opinionated

Beliefs are the things that represent who we are in society. These works tell you where I stand. Once you read, you’ll realize that I don’t care about what other people think about me. The opinions of people who don’t have a part in my life don’t affect the decisions I make. I am not the type to let my voice drift away into the wind. Mine will always be heard.

11

Hiding

The masks we wear are hypothetical masks. We use the masks to hide things we don’t want other people to see. The things we hide under our masks may or may be pretty. The masks we wear are there to protect us and the people around us form the things hidden underneath. We use anger to mask the happiness we feel and vice versa. We may portray something with our face, but actually feel something very different.

12

Who Cares

I couldn’t ask for a better day. Here I was, cheering on the Texas Longhorns playing football; what better way could you spend an afternoon. The Longhorns are my most favorite college football team. I always get crap for liking them, but you know…whatever. Haters gonna hate right? I think they’re just jealous. I think everyone secretly likes them but don’t have enough “guts” to admit it. They are too worried about fitting in with other people. Personally I don’t care. I’m proud to like Texas and I’m not afraid to show it. What does It matter what other people think? Your own self-image I more important than what some snobby person thinks of you.

13

Puzzle Piece

People join groups because they want to be with people who like the same things as them. For example people who join the book club usually get along with people who like to read. Some people join to feel like they belong. They think that if they aren’t in a group of some sort they don’t fit in well with other people. Some people join just for the heck of it. They figure that since there’s a club they should be part of it. In the sense of popularity groups, if you think about it you don’t really join a group. Society puts you where they think you fit.

14

Big Kids

Growing up can be hard or easy depending on how you look at it. When you grow up things can be more difficult. You won’t have your parents around to just hand you things. When you need money, you’ll have to go and get a job to earn it. With age comes more responsibility. You have to learn how to manage your time and not let it waste away. But being older doesn’t have to be a bad thing either. Age and knowledge are one of the same. The older you get the more knowledge you acquire. You learn not to make the same mistakes twice. Although some things you don’t get a second chance at, you pass on the information and experience to the younger generations.

15

Jared Johnson

Sandwiches, Minecraft, and Adventure Time. Sadly those are the more normal things that swirl around in Jared Johnson’s head. He is what is called a scatter brain. I’m stuck here. In Jared’s head I mean. I wish I could get out. Its making me go insane. I don’t think I can handle anymore “hey girls.” The things that go on are both incredible and slightly disturbing. His brain is composed of rooms almost. You’ll be walking and for some time and the scene shifts. I’m on hour 23 and I’m counting down

16

Book

Fallen. A lot of things come to mind when you hear that word. My favorite book topic is fallen angels. I love fiction books that have anything to do with the supernatural. My favorite angel books are the Fallen series of course. Next would have to be the Hush Hush series. I in fact just watched a video over fallen angel story. It was the Greek myth of Daedalus and Icarus. Although he wasn’t quite and angel, he still fell from the sky with wings on his back.

17

Part 3: Emotions

Someone once said that I am like a porcupine. I have those quills that will poke and stab at you if you get too close, but when you get past that I am warm and soft. I do have a tendency to block people out. Sometimes it’s just easier to keep everyone on the outside. That one you’ve been in the dark for so long it’s hard to go back to the light. But despite what everyone thinks I do have feelings, and this is one of those times I let them shine.

18

An Unlikely Match

You are the sun to my moon; you light up my world. You are the strength to my weakness; you lift me high when I’m feeling down. You are the gravity that holds me to the earth. You are the hot to my cold; just like an unlikely match. You are my everything, and I don’t want to live without you.

19

Cause and Effect

Well managing time is something I wish I was better at. I need to learn when it’s time to move on and maybe let things go. I also wish some other people would learn when it’s the right time to do things too. Like guys I like for example. There’s one who won’t take the time to talk to me about it. One of my friends asked him about it, and he said he was scared of talking to me about it. See his decision is hindering my decisions. If he doesn’t make a move soon, I’m going to move on and show my interests in another guy I like. I’m not sure what to do though. I need to manage my time. I’ve decided in the time I’ve been writing this that if he doesn’t talk to me by Wednesday I’m going to have to move on. See this is managing time correctly. Being able to know when the time has come.

Looking, Searching, Hoping

I sit Watching and listening To the Things around me Hoping That I can find peace Somewhere, Anywhere. I try and Think Of a time of love From Someone on the outside To find Something good from What it Once was, but that Memory Is one that will never Come.

21

What We Want

We all want something. That something is LOVE. It is something that can come easily or hard. It can be both welcome and unwelcome. Love is…well what is it? Some might say it’s the crazy feeling you get around a certain person. LOVE can come in 3 forms. The first is the kind you have for your family. This one does have an effect on you, but it’s not totally noticeable. The second is the kind you have for food, movies, books etc… This is the kind that makes you feel good. The third, and my most personal favorite, is the kind you get from someone you like. This makes you absolutely crazy…I’ve been in love all of two times. I can honestly say I never regret a moment of it. When you know someone loves you it’s the best feeling in the world. When you are the reason they wake up and go to school every morning. When you see them and it takes all your self- control not to run up and kiss them. When you have to settle for looking and smiling from a distance.

My Angel

I don’t know exactly where the train was going. After paying my fare, I simply stood on the platform waiting for it to whisk me away to somewhere, anywhere but here. And that’s when it happened. I realize now that it shouldn’t have been a surprise. What with all the events leading up to it. I suppose I should start with I’m getting on this train to somewhere in the first place. It has to do with a boy, if you haven’t already guessed. I love him… well I thought I did. It started with a note in ---- grade. Shortly after both of us admitting we liked each other we started dating. I was helplessly in love. And yes I know that’s what they all say, but this time it’s true. I loved everything about him. He had the blonde hair with the brown and gold flecks in it. And his freckles…well he had them to spare. What I loved most was his eyes. They were the type of blue I loved. The perfect shade in contrast with my green eyes. He was my angel. My blonde haired blue eyed angel. I loved everything about him. He could just melt my heart… The summer after we started dating we kept in touch. Well as much as two thirteen year old could. But when his ----------- that summer, that’s kind of when it all fell apart.
