ROUND PLAYBLE

ROUND

PLAYBLE

By Mr MIKAEL HEDMAN, RT 120, Sweden

Sunmer is fast approaching and so is AGM season. It may be time to think about the RTIWM as well. If you have a long journey to Copenhagen or your AGM, take the opportunity to bring a game as entertainment. Drinking beer and talking in all glory, but it can be great fun to break it off with a board or card game!

MORE THAN ONE STORY

rating: ●●●●○○○

A card game that is not about winning and not really about having fun either, although laughter can occur. But it is more about getting to know each other and building bridges between people. Published by Simrishamns Municipality's Culture and Leisure Administration in a project to integrate people from different backgrounds. You can either buy the physical deck, or download the app for Android or Iphone for free. There is also a website, www.morethanonestory.org where you also can play the game. In all its simplicity, a statement appears on each card, "Tell about how you played as a child" e.g. So you have to think about your statement and tell the others. Like an RT meeting, it can shift between seriousness and gaping laughter. And even if you know each other well, you get to hear new stories. Perfect to entertain on a road trip, maybe on the way to your AGM or the world meeting.

BUFFALO

rating: ●●●●○○○

A "drinking game" within the Round Table. If you like alcohol and games, why not become a buffalo brother. This is something we do not see much of in RT Sweden, but if you go abroad it will probably be hard to miss. If it is done in the right way, it is a fun element that strengthens the community, but it is up to everyone to decide for themselves. I have appreciated it at the international meetings I have been to anyway.

SECRET HITLER

rating: ●●●●●○○

A quite simple and very social game for a group between 5-10, perfect to play at an RT meeting, depending on how many brothers you are. Who among you is "Lizard-Hitler", lie and keep a straight face for as long as you can, may the liberals win over the fascists! Some of you play as liberals, some are fascists and one is "Lizard-Hitler", but who is what?

If you do not want to buy it, you can download and print it for free in PDF format on their website (www.secrethitler.com), have a pair of scissors on hand because you will need to cut.

This is a game that may have chosen a story that may offend some. I hope no one takes it badly, that's not my intention.
