Dynamic Project Management minor in Oslo, Norway
scale model 1:20
Entrance for the OverOslo festival During my study in Oslo I participated in the minor Dynamic Project Management in which three other international students and I led a group of eight first- and second graders. The assignment was focussed on leadership, communicating and reflecting but also in taking part of the group and making progress in more specific personal interests. For me those were the metal workshop, wood workshop, sketching and learning more about different methods and techniques as they were used there. As a total team of twelve people we went through the entire design process from research till modelling. We started with field trips, mapping personal skills, moodboards and mindmaps and finished with mock-ups, detailed sketches and models. I did a lot of sketching, model making and supported team-members on 1 to 1 level. What I learned here: - (Personal) project management and leadership in a international team of designers. - The importance of reflecting and having an honest, fun vibe. - Ways to aesthetically express models. - Sketching methods and tools.

Lighting for the watertower ‘Hoog en droog’. Creating a concept with lights to turn a watertower in Enschede into a landmark.
Minor Allround Design Experience in Zwolle, The Netherlands
scale model 1:40
Lighting for the watertower ‘Hoog en droog’. With a international team we participated in the Light Challenge 2018. It was our goal to create a unique experience of the watertower ‘Hoog en droog’ with lights. I constructed a concept that put an accent on the historical shapes of the tower and its surrounding square. We worked close together with the engineering company Clafis. This colaboration opened doors to interesting locations, people and events.
What I learned here: - Combining architecture and product design. - Working in a international team. - Wooden models (lathe, laser-cutter)
Displaying Imitating the conceptual lighting on a scale model of the tower.
Ideation Generating potential solutions for the project.
CAD simulation of aluminum injection molding Creating a simulation of the aluminum injection molding process. Freelance work for Chinaworks Ltb. in Zwolle, The Netherlands
CAD simulation of aluminium injection molding As a freelance designer I did some projects for my former employer. Chinaworks ltd. planned to attend an international fair during which they would like to present their activities to professionals inside and outside their network. Chinaworks asked me to visually explain the process of aluminium injection molding in a simple yet technical way so both engineers as salesmen would understand it. In SolidWorks CAD I drew and animated two mold halves that produce a quite detailed product. During the animation the movement of the molds, the injection and the ejection are displayed. The final simulation and renders will be displayed at the fair. What I learned here: - CAD simulations and animations. - Communication between client and designer. - Aluminum injection molding process. - Working as a industrial design freelancer.

Window-seat, closing the day. A foldable couch for people living in small apartments to let them experience their place as less small. Product Design Specialization Oslo, Norway
Window-seat, closing the day. I noticed that in a lot of houses and apartments the window view is often too little perceived. I had an idea to create a piece of furniture that could be part of the window-frame because it offers a nice opportunity to lounge with a view. During my minor in Oslo I got the chance to develop this idea into sketches, physical models, CAD models and into a virtual reality environment. The end result was a foldable bench
What I learned here: - Virtual Reality and the soft- and hardware that is involved in it. - Several CAD-programs: SolidWorks, ArchiCAD, Rhino 3D, Fusion. - Metal model: welding, grinding, cutting.
Renders of the product in both unfolded and folded state.
The product in a VR-environment.

Hedur, a design project. A name for my creative spare time projects. Includes posters, logo’s, art and videos. Hobby project Rouveen, The Netherlands
Hedur, a design project. I’ve always been creating, designing and making. In 2015 I decided to combine all my (upcoming) creative outcomes into Hedur. Since then I’ve done several small assignments for people within my close network.
What I learned here: - Personal interests in design. - Dealing with client’s demands. - Adobe Creative Cloud software (i.e. Illustrator, Premiere, Photoshop and Muse). - Custom printing: t-shirts, stickers, cards. - (Digital) sketching, drawing, illustrating
Stickers Own design and print.

Creathon, making regional products appealing. Creathon, making regional products appealing A contest in which divergent professionals work together to Winning a creative design marathon in which we found the find a solution for one complex most potential solution for the problematic situation of reproblem. gional fresh products. 48-hour Professional eventproject Deventer, Deventer,The TheNetherlands Netherlands
Creathon, making regional products appealing. I took part in a Creathon (creative marathon) organized by 20creathon in which we developed a solution for selling regional products on a regional scale. I worked together with two farmers, a food expert and a marketing professional. Our team won the challenge out of ten other teams and our idea turned into a real-life solution.
What I learned here: - Defining my professional role in a unusal environment. - Working in a team with very (different) specific professionals . - The real-life process from concept to marketingplan.
I visualized and materialized the ideas that our team came up with.
I created and presented a graphical overview of our winning idea.
I got familiar in working in a different setting with very divergent professionals.
