STUDIO BRIEF 1: Project Proposal

Project Rationale

RUBY

SHELTON

What do you intend to do and why? I intend to create an environmentally friendly series of printed fabrics that can be applied to fashion clothing and accessories. I aim to produce an environmentally aware collection that highlights the issue of coral bleaching and ocean warming through the use of vibrant colours and shape based designs inspired by sea life. The collection will be bright and colourful to indicate how beautiful the coral reefs should be and will be if improvements are made. I intend to print my designs on to untreated or recycled fabrics in order for the collection to be environmentally friendly and to be sold in order raise awareness of the issue as well as a percentage of profits going towards the organisation called The Ocean Agency. The products should show that environmentally aware designs don’t have to be limited by colours and exciting design.
