Situated on the Eastern Seaboard, Rugby School Thailand is set in beautiful rolling hills with 80-acres of land for your child to enroll on an exceptional education without disruption. Not only do we have brand-new, world-class facilities, but we also have unique features that other international schools in Thailand simply don’t have space for. These include school sailing lakes, an Outdoor Education Centre with zip-line, high ropes and archery, nature trails, organic gardens and even a resident tortoise!

THE LAND OF SMILES Thailand is a peaceful country, affectionately known as the ‘land of smiles’. The warmth of Thai hospitality, its people and even its climate, are some of the many alluring aspects of this beautiful kingdom. Unsettling times mean it’s more important than ever to choose a postivie and stable environment for you child. Our school celebrates its location, acknowledging national holidays and adopting local principles and attitudes - and with more than 450 years of heritage from our prestigious sister school, Rugby UK, we are a trusted choice for your child’s well-being and academic success.

Z

We follow the British curriculum and British private school model, meaning your child can reap the rewards of smaller class sizes and longer days that incorporate sport and cocurricular activities. Academic excellence lies at the heart of Rugby School, but our ‘whole person’ approach encompasses so much more.

A STRESS-FREE, COUNTRYSIDE SPACE We don’t have the spacial limitations of most Bangkok schools, so there’s a natural ability to give pupils the extra space they need while social distancing is required. School life here will be able to continue almost entirely as usual, with daily sport and co-curricular activities across the campus. Our smaller class sizes mean there is already space for 1m distancing during lessons, too.

YOUR CHILD DESERVES AN UNINTERUPTED EDUCATION You may have concerns about school closures or a second wave of the virus, and how best to protect your child from health risks and further disruptions. We’re lucky to be on a large private campus, in a peaceful and stable country. Safety protocols to protect our community are of utmost impotance at this time and we have many measures in place, such as entry temperature checks, markers for distancing in communal areas, regular cleaning throughout the day, hand sanitiser points, a dedicated ‘Covid Comittee’ and isolation rooms if needed.

‘WHOLE PERSON, WHOLE POINT’ We have an extended school day that finishes at 4.45pm (from Reception) / 5.50pm (Year 3 upwards). Every school day incorporates sport, co-curricular activities and homework, in addition to lessons. This is how we can truly deliver on our mantra ‘whole person, whole point’, which serves to educate mind, body and spirit. It is because of our ‘whole person’ philosophy that academic excellence reigns. Here are a few reasons why: • Classes have max. 18 children, giving higher concentration and more focus. • Daily sport and co-curricular develop character and interpersonal skills. • Children talk in English at all times, so language develops quickly. • Co-curricular choices support wider learning and interests. • Sport and outdoor education boost cognitive performance. • It doesn’t deliver burnout. RST students love learning!

BOARDING LIFE AT RST We take boarders from Year 3 (aged 8) upwards. We have a Prep boarding house called ‘Marshall House’ and two senior boarding houses; girls are in ‘Rupert Brooke’ and boys are in ‘School House’. While each house has it’s own unique atmosphere, all are happy homes from home with expert pastoral care.

BOARDING: A HAPPY HOME FROM HOME

There are many common misconceptions about boarding schools. From the type of parents (or children) who explore such a route, to the diminished role of a parent, and even the old stereotype of stark, uncaring establishments. On the contrary; boarding at Rugby is warm, and the care is exceptional. In boarding, young people prepare for life beyond school with greater tolerance, respect and independence.

so looking at options further afield may infinitely elevate the educational experience. In major cities there are often many great international schools - but rush hour traffic can mean spending a disproportionate amount of time travelling short distances. A good boarding school would cut out the daily commute and give more time for studying, discovering new hobbies and enjoying leisure time with friends.

Boarding life at RST gives Boarding isn’t for everyone and children the invaluable gift of a only parents know if it will be right healthy, active lifestyle, whilst for their child. For many, schools also immersing them in nature within easy reach of home may to indulge the curious spirit of not offer the education, space, their youth. This is the essence of facilities or support desired, Rugby School Thailand boarding.

“ I’ve worked in pastoral care for almost 20 years and see so many children benefit from becoming a boarder. For Senior School pupils one of the biggest gains is preparation for university life, which can feel like a huge leap. Boarders are significantly better prepared. For all, boarding is an opportunity to build character and independence, foster deep friendships and do so within an environment focused on care and the traditional values underpinning a great British education.” DAVE ENNIS-BILLING HEAD OF BOARDING (SENIOR)
