Colorful, serene, and surrounded by turquoise waters, Holbox Island stuns for its unexpected vibrancy combined with a tranquil atmosphere. Aug/sep 2021 Capri, Italy
The Emerald Island is famed for its rugged landscape, upscale hotels, shopping, and La Dolce Vita lifestyle. The Palazzo a Mare beach, on the Marina Grande side, is a place of seclusion that can only be reached by boat, shuttle, or - for the more adventurous - on foot along a route through the area near the Da Paolino restaurant. Whichever way one chooses to get there, crystal clear waters and stunning views await. Capri Tiberio Palace is the perfect spot to call home when here.
Nantucket, USA
The tiny isolated island, located more than 25 miles off the coast of Massachusetts, is a highly popular summer destination. It’s a place with picture-perfect beaches and a remarkable history: in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, Nantucket was the whaling capital of the world and one of the wealthiest communities in America. Nowadays, the cobblestoned streets of the small town are lined with restaurants, high-end boutiques, and luxury hotels, including Life House Nantucket. Its coastline remains an ideal place for seclusion and, of course, also for wilderness swimming. m

Newly Unveiled Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail Geotourism Online Hub As travelers seek out more authentic ways to connect with people and places, the Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail unveils the ultimate online trip-planning portal, which is designed to help visitors learn more about the host communities, local businesses, and attractions located along the 4,900-mile trail which runs from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to the Pacific Ocean. Through the portal’s interactive map guide, travelers can plan themed trips and locate recommendations for lodging, historic places, sustainable communities, natural areas, and tribal lands. The newly launched online portal, which has been created through a Geotourism stewardship program overseen by the National Park Service (NPS), brings together many tourism partners at local, state, and national levels along the Trail, including the American Indian Alaska Native Tourism Association (AIANTA). Geotourism is considered tourism that sustains or enhances the geographic character of a place, its environment, culture, aesthetics, heritage, and the well-being of its residents. Geotourism encompasses a range of travel experiences including culture and heritage, history, food, nature, adventure, the outdoors, water, music, and arts. The Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail, administered by the NPS, is more than 4,900 miles long, traversing 16 states and many tribal lands, and follows the historic route of the Lewis and Clark expedition. It was designated by U.S. Congress to commemorate the 1803 to 1806 Corps of Discovery Expedition to explore the newly acquired

western portion of the United States, and ensures this historic expedition is commemorated through the identification, preservation, and interpretation of the ttrail route, all while ensuring public use and enjoyment. This epic journey contributed significant scientific knowledge and profound political, social, economic, cultural, and environmental changes to the peoples and landscapes of the North American continent. The trail has over 6,600 miles of designated auto tour route, which provides visitors access to the historic route through rich recreational, interpretive, and educational opportunities. Many segments of Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail retain landscape characteristics and a sense of place as seen and experienced by the original Lewis and Clark expedition. The trail links contemporary authentic communities and cultures, including tribes whose connections span thousands of years, to historic, vibrant, and living landscapes. Whether traveling the entire length of the trail or a short-day trip to a small segment, the travel experience can be greatly enhanced by the amazing possibilities highlighted on the new online portal. The Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail Geotourism Program is designed to support the natural assets, cultural attractions, and historically important places that make the Lewis and Clark trail a unique and vibrant tourism attraction. The Program will help the people, places, and businesses connected by the trail to tell the story of what’s unique and authentic about their place and create a resource for travelers to explore the length, breadth, and diversity of the trail. m

Cyber Security Measures For Your Next Vacation With overseas vacations back on for those in need of a getaway, web hosting experts Fasthosts.co.uk highlight cyber security tips to keep you secure online when abroad. From being careful about solicited messages to confirming your social media settings on vacation, here are some of the best ways to protect you from cyber attacks whilst on vacation.
1. Confirm your social media privacy settings A simple way to improve cyber safety and prevent identity fraud online is to ensure your social media privacy settings are set appropriately. This means making sure only people you trust can see your updates and public information. Also, take care not to reply or send sensitive information to people you don’t both know and trust. 2. Be cautious about unsolicited messages Phishing attacks target you by posing as somebody you would otherwise be inclined to trust, asking for personal data and login details. If you receive messages out of the blue, treat them with caution, and refrain from clicking on links or replying until you’re certain they are who they say they are. 3. Update your passwords regularly Passwords are your first protection against hackers infiltrating your (Image provided by fasthosts.co.uk)
digital data and stealing your personal information. So, it’s of utmost importance you make your passwords strong and difficult to guess, taking care to avoid common phrases and obvious personal details. For an even safer online experience, use a different password for each website you log into, and update your details regularly. 4. Be careful browsing on public Wi-Fi When connecting to free Wi-Fi abroad (and at home for that matter), whether that be at a café, supermarket, or airport, it’s important to remember that you’re sharing a public connection. With potentially thousands of people connecting to the hotspot each day, there’s no better opportunity for a hacker to steal personal credentials, payment information, and security numbers. The easiest way to stay safe is to simply try and avoid accessing these public hotspot points. 5. Confirm your wireless connection The easiest way to avoid falling victim to ‘spoofing’ is to simply steer away from using public Wi-Fi access points that might become easy targets. By sticking to private networks, you can take more control over your privacy, by ensuring the SSID is unique, and the default password has been changed. Always remember cyber security is as important as your personal safety.m
