Louis Vuitton presents works of world’s leading contemporary artists With “Art For Baby” Exhibition Louis Vuitton proudly presents an exciting display of work by four of the world’s leading contemporary artists in its latest exhibition at Espace Louis Vuitton Hong Kong – Art for Baby. The “Art for Baby” exhibition was put together in celebration of the Asian launch of the highly-acclaimed book by the same name. The exhibition presents important work by Gary Hume, Damien Hirst, Takashi Murakami and Julian Opie, extending the monochromatic images represented in this best-selling publication into an exploration of colour and form. To be enjoyed by adults and children alike, the works by the four artists presented in this special exhibition were chosen from among works by Kasmir Malevich, Paul Morrison, Bridget Riley and David Shrigley, each of whom is also featured in the art for Bay book. The book Art for Baby was conceived by Yana Peel, inspired by scientific evidence that when babies are first born, they can see colour but have not yet developed the ability to distinguish similar tones. As a result, bold graphics along with monochromatic black and white contrasts provide them with the tools to nurture their visual skills, while at the same time introduce them to the world of art. The book, in support of OUTSET Contemporary Art Fund, a foundation committed to supporting new art for public benefit has become a best-seller in Europe and the U.S. since first publication. The works gracing the wall of the gallery stand as iconic images from some of today’s most sought-after contemporary artists. Damien Hirst’s work derives from the existential dilemma of the human condition and is a sustained investigation into the theme of mortality. Gary Hume’s colour-field paintings explore the relationships between object, surface and abstraction. Julian Opie’s animated video pare down an image to its bare essentials, while Takashi Murakami’s work is a seamless integration of fine art and popular culture. Proceeds from book sales of “Art for Baby”at Louis Vuitton Canton Road Maison will go to OUTSET Contemporary Art Fund.

Alexander McQueen Bold silhouettes were melded with vibrant colours at Alexander McQueen to create striking military looks and boyish images. A wash of dark shades shot with vermillion and amber were styled into structured capes and jackets with dramatic, over-sized collars and banded cuffs. Cool, zippered, black boots accentuated the soldierly appeal, while high-waisted trousers, streaked blazers, elongated jackets and flat caps infused a youthful air. 4
