Dementia Accessible Buses a reality as Sanders focus on drivers and dementia awareness

Sheringham, as a dementia friendly community, gets a step closer Sheringham Dementia Friendly community have jumped into 2018 with a number of exciting projects driving ahead.

The ability to live well with dementia is often dependent on an individual’s access to public transport. As members of Sheringham Dementia Friendly Community, Sanders Coaches were well aware of this and approached the group to see if dementia awareness sessions could be arranged for all of their drivers. Realising the importance of being dementia friendly and accessible, and in the process of redeveloping their CPC training modules, Sanders have built in dementia modules into their package. SDFC have been delighted to work in supporting the development of these sessions and in also delivering them over five weekends in January and February.

Richard Pengelly of Sanders said this initiative came about as part of a focus on improving all customer service and to help customer facing staff appreciate how to take account of the individual needs of passengers. Continued on page 4...

Dementia Accessible Buses a reality as Sanders focus on drivers and dementia awareness

Continued from front cover... Kevin Reynolds, Sanders Training Manager, reported that he felt this partnership with SDFC is a fantastic opportunity to meet the needs of the local community whilst developing good customer service across all of our team of drivers.

After the session drivers reported that much seems like common sense and about being kind to people. However, they felt it is really important that every driver is aware of what can help those living with dementia and how a simple task such as swiping a bus pass can be overwhelming. Dementia aware drivers can ensure those travelling with dementia don’t become anxious about using the bus and end up isolated and lonely.

SDFC secretary and session leader Cllr Liz Withington, feels that to have the main provider of buses in North Norfolk involved and determined to make that service dementia accessible is a major step forward in creating a Dementia Friendly Community.

As a community we now hope that the other bus providers in the area, Stagecoach and also community transport groups will also look to developing dementia awareness across their organisations and SDFC would be more than happy to support them in this.

Public transport is very much the focus for 2018 for SDFC with the second project involving supporting the community Rail Partnership for the Bittern line in considering ways to make the line from Sheringham to Cromer dementia accessible. Norwich station already comes under the Norwich Dementia Action Alliance but it is hoped long term to work towards a dementia friendly Bittern Line.

Cromer WI

We started 2018 programme with a very interesting talk by Mike Weatherton on ‘Norfolk History through its Village Signs’.

Mike is a keen photographer and his interest in village signs started when he decided to update a book he found written in the 70s about the signs.

Mike’s book topped the Jarrold’s best seller chart for seven weeks in 2014. Village signs originated in Norfolk and lots of the signs were made by Harry Carter. Local WI’s commissioned half of all of the signs in Norfolk. Cromer is one of the few places in Norfolk without a sign. After refreshments we had the business part of the meeting. There are lots of activities planned including Darts, Book Club, Craft and Walking groups. The competition was won by Yvonne Hoggarth with Jill Betz second and Pru Mead third.

Our next meeting is on 8 February and our speaker is Paige Langton from the Dogs Trust Rehoming Centre.

New members are always welcome on the second Thursday of the month in the Community Hall in Garden Street.

IT’S PANTO TIME AT MUNDESLEY AGAIN FOLKS - OH YES IT IS! Mundesley pantomime this year is ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’, directed by Ian Cashmore, produced by Pat Nearney, celebrating the 45th consecutive annual pantomime held for the village. “This year even more fun and laughter is guaranteed”, said Mr. Nearney.

After expenses, all proceeds are distributed to local charities, with last year’s profits amounting to over £4000.

As in the past, the pantomime likes to give ‘up and coming actors’ a chance to appear with this year being no exception. Fifteen year old Georgia Pearce finally gets to take a principal role, of Snow White. She is a pupil at Cromer Academy and has appeared in many pantos, as well as productions by the Academy and Mundesley Players. In contrast, Sheilah Olley, panto favourite ‘The Norfolk Fairy’, who, following last year’s ‘pantomime referendum’ was voted to remain as ‘The Norfolk Fairy’,

Diamond raises money for Walking with the Wounded

2 Main Courses for £15.00!

One Norfolk lady’s Christmas was made on Friday 22 December as a result of being the lucky winner of a beautiful diamond worth £2000 donated by Webbs Jewellers in Holt in aid of local charity Walking with the Wounded.

Since the beginning of November people have had the opportunity to purchase a ticket for £10 to be in with the chance of winning the diamond, with all funds raised going directly to support our wounded ex-servicemen and women.

Duncan Slater and Olly Webb in Webbs Jewellers on the day of the draw

The lucky winner was local resident Judith Mitchell, who was over the moon when Olly Webb, Director of Webbs rang her up from the shop to tell her of her exciting win. In total, the diamond competition raised £2,050 for Walking with the Wounded.

2 Desserts for £9.00!

The lucky ticket was drawn on Friday 22nd December by double leg amputee war veteran and local resident Duncan Slater.

Ed Parker, Co-Founder and CEO of Walking with the Wounded commented “We are hugely grateful to Webbs Jewellers – not only was it such a fun idea but hugely generous and the funds raised will significantly improve the lives of our ex-servicemen and women. Such an amount could pay for two veterans to complete our mental health programme or indeed pay for the training and skills needed for an ex-serviceman or woman to get back into employment allowing him/her to regain their independence. Thank you to Olly and all the team at Webbs.”

Unity Challenge raises funds for Cromer RNLI

Saturday 6 January saw 30 people of all ages taking part in a challenge on the beach and pier, raising funds for Cromer RNLI.

Unity, a new gym based in Northrepps, organised a fitness event involving many challenges.

After a warm up, the volunteers took part in a 5km run along the promenade and beach which was followed by a bodyweight fitness session of press-ups, squat sits ups etc, finishing with a 1km uphill run - amazing that the first person to finish managed to do it in 54 minutes.

Matthew Green, who runs Unity, said ‘The event was mainly to raise funds for Cromer RNLI, but also meant the volunteers who took part not only had a good time but were able to set new personal best targets. Some people came from as far as Beccles to support the event’

Besides the competitors, there were other volunteers who, for over three hours, gave out water and marshalled the course.

Cromer RNLI Operations Manager Richard Leeds commented ‘Matthew hopes to repeat this challenge on a yearly basis, encouraging more people who attend the gym to take part. We really appreciate how these volunteers support the crews who ensure Cromer RNLI is available every day’.

Diabetes UK North Norfolk Group

Through the North Norfolk Group's fundraising activities last year we are again able to offer a limited number of FREE support holidays, organised by Diabetes UK, during the summer of 2018.

These will be available for children and young people with diabetes between the ages of 7-10 and 11-17 who live in Norfolk.

The holidays are invaluable for the youngsters, allowing them to gain skills and confidence to help them deal with their diabetes among others of the same age. Some go on holiday having never met anyone else with diabetes before. So to be able to leave thinking “I’m not different from anyone else” has to make it all worthwhile.

If your child is at all interested, please encourage him/her to contact Jackie or David on 01692 405492 or email diabetes.uk@hotmail.co.uk All contacts will be acknowledged on a first come first served basis.

Whilst we are prepared to fund the holiday, you would be expected to organise travel and provide pocket money.

Details of the holidays for 2018 will be available shortly.

Hickling Broad & later Stubb Mill for Winter Raptor Roost on 18 February 12:30pm – 5pm - this event is for both beginners and reasonably experienced birders. We will first look for winter species, particularly wildfowl and waders, at Hickling Broad (a walk of perhaps an hour around the reserve reed-bed) and then walk to Stubb Mill to watch the winter raptor & crane roost. This is a lunchtime and afternoon trip. We will meet at the Hickling NWT car-park NR12 0BW at 12.30 for an initial al fresco lunch (bring your own!). The grid reference is TG 428 222. The NWT Visitor Centre has picnic tables and toilets. Currently their web site does not indicate any opening hours for the cafe. The afternoon raptor-watch is at Stubb Mill, which is reached with a moderate walk from the NWT car-park. Stout footwear or wellies are essential as some areas are wet underfoot. Warm windproof clothing is also essential because the raptor watch involves standing in the open, possibly for a couple of hours, which can be cold, but its also rewarding with the possibility of seeing Common Cranes, Hen Harriers, Marsh Harriers, Merlin, Buzzards, Short -eared and Barn Owls coming in to roost. As the raptors can be distant a telescope is useful if you have one. Children are welcome if accompanied by well-behaved adults, but we regret no dogs. To keep the club's carbon footprint small, please consider car sharing. The walk will be led by Janice Darch.

Cafe Dane

THE STRAND CLUB

For the second year running we all convened at the Amber Restaurant in Cromer Country Club for our annual lunch.

CAFE DANE, Cromer, is bringing a little Danish ‘HYGGE’ to North Norfolk, where you can relax in our warm atmosphere overlooking the High Street and overlooking Evington Gardens towards the sea.

Our tables were laid out beautifully and there was a separate table groaning under the weight of a dozen or so top-notch raffle prizes.

History tells us there has been a link with East Anglian and Scandinavian culture since the year 800. That is why our family - fifty percent Danish and Swedish - decided to reopen a cafe in Cromer, situated next to Cromer Bus Station.

We offer a variety of culinary delights for you to experience with a hint of Scandinavian flavours. We offer a simple menu selection of eat-in and takeaway food and drinks. Traditional breakfast and light lunch options. Why not come and try our selection of delicacies or a homemade waffle with various savoury hot or cold toppings and dessert toppings. Other meal options include soups, paninis, vegetarian and vegan dishes, followed by a selection of deserts including homemade Danish pastries. We also have specials throughout the year traditional or Scandinavian recipes, all home cooked.

Why not enjoy your meal or snack, eat-in or takeaway with one of our smooth freshly ground coffees and other hot and cold drink selection inside or on our covered patio area.

We look forward to seeing you soon. The Cafe Dane family.

Once again the staff looked after us extremely well, delivering the dishes to us promptly and with efficiency. The food itself was excellent - beautifully presented and extremely tasty.

A heartfelt vote of thanks was given to them for their hard work and we all returned home, too full to consider eating ever again!

Our next meeting will be on 14 February and will include a talk by Harriet Martineau, which sounds intriguing. Please do join us at Overstrand Sports Pavilion. Meetings begin at 2pm with an entry fee of just £2 to cover light refreshments. Raffle tickets are available separately throughout the afternoon. We are always delighted to welcome visitors as well as potential new members to swell our happy throng!

For further details contact our Chairman, Jackie Hudson, on 01263 720866 or our Secretary, Chris. Wood, on 01263 579433. !

CROMER AND SHERINGHAM PROBUS CLUB

On 9 January Cromer and Sheringham Probus Club was treated, after an excellent lunch, to a delightful talk on ‘Jewish Humour through the Ages’ by Mr Alex Bennett, a former minister of the synagogue in Norwich.

He pointed out that much Jewish humour derives from the times of persecution that Jews have suffered down the ages being able to laugh at themselves was an aid to survival.

He also pointed out that there are many well-known Jewish comedians, such as Danny Kaye, Woody Allen, and Peter Sellers. Alex then regaled us with many amusing Jewish jokes, told by Jews about or against themselves.

North Walsham and District Branch of Cats Protection

Last time, we were happy to report that lots of our cats had found new homes and we would therefore be taking cats in from our waiting list. Fortunately, for several of these cats, they no longer needed our help, which was fortuitous, as we were contacted about another situation where a further 13 cats, (must be our lucky number), needed to come into care because they had been abandoned when their owner was evicted. Ten of these are now in care and have taken up all our free spaces. The remaining three are being looked after by someone in her home and she is happy to do this until we have more free spaces. We were already aware from concerned neighbours that the living conditions for these cats were not ideal but had not been able to take any action as we do not have the powers to do so. Sometimes, when people ring the cat phone, they are under the impression that we have an office with someone there to answer cat enquiries and are most surprised to learn that this is not the case.

When Stephanie is on holiday I do take the phone over and I have received calls in the evening, (they come through on my home phone), from people who express surprise that someone has answered as they thought they would be leaving a message on a phone in an office. The phone is normally at Stephanie’s home but it is in a part of the property where it will not disrupt family life in the evenings and can be responded to when she is free to do so. People can leave messages on the answer phone but we would suggest that these are made at reasonable times because it is in a place where it can be heard once she has retired for the night. As I have mentioned many times, we are all volunteers fitting the work with cats around our activities, so our free time is valuable. We have had recent instances where people have made appointments to come and view a cat, have not turned up and have not let our volunteer know. One recently wasted her precious Saturday morning waiting for someone to arrive. A quick call to say they had changed their mind would have been preferable from her point of view. Another of our volunteers, a young mum, with two children, who works part time, has been let down on more than one occasion recently by people bringing cats into care. In two instances the people have changed

their minds but not let her know in good time and, in another instance, changed the day and time for bringing the cat in several times. Hedgehog Haven

The first arrival of 2018, Lucus, has arrived - very thin and undernourished. Hedgehogs should be a round shape like a football - Lucus has a very tapered back end more like a rugby ball which indicates under nourishment . I have given him rehydration fluid, antibiotics and lungworm treatment and he is slowly gaining weight. I am now tackling his spine loss by applying tea tree cream to his skin. Given time I am expecting him to make a full recovery. He was very lucky to be found as his finder has a wild life camera in the garden and, realising he didn't look well, brought him in. He certainly would not have survived otherwise.

CROMER AND DISTRICT GARDEN SOCIETY

The first meeting of 2018 was very well attended.

A very late change of speaker proved to be a bonus for members and visitors who braved the elements on a cold and windy evening as Martin Davey, well known to those who listen to Radio Norfolk’s gardening programmes, brought years of experience as Head of Horticulture at Easton College to the topic of the garden in winter.

Winter to gardeners is the period between late November and early March when temperatures are low, daylight is in short supply, rainfall can be heavy and winds very strong. This winter has had elements of all of these features. If gardeners think that nothing is happening at this time the speaker was able to suggest

otherwise.

Snowdrops, aconites, irises, crocuses and daffodils are well known and loved by everyone and feature in many gardens. But what of shrubs and bushes for winter interest? Witch-hazel has vivid flowers and very good leaf colour. Unfortunately it tends to be relatively expensive as plants have to be grafted rather than propagated. Alders are very good in damp conditions and have attractive catkins. Honeysuckle “Winter Beauty” was recommended as was viburnum “Dawn” which will produce pinkish flowers from November onwards. Mahonia “Charity” will grow in heavy shade, a bonus in some gardens. Dwarf sweet box is strongly scented and is good for ground cover. In summer it produces bright red

CROMER FLOWER CLUB

Our January meeting was also our Annual General Meeting. All officers stayed the same. The only change is that Sue Brocklesby has left the committee due to a house move. Thanks were expressed for all her work. Congratulations to our champion flower arranger for the year, Liz Crane.

The mystery guest turned out to be our own member Margaret Mitchell who gave a talk on ‘Memories of a Life in Sewing’.

She started with a binka mat (we all remembered those) and moved on to tray cloths and petticoats.

The theme of the early work was mostly unfinished! But oh boy when she was more experienced and did finish, her work was stunning.

berries. Cornus alba “Sibirica” and “Midwinter Fire” are well known for their striking red stems. Even clematis, usually thought of as summer plants, will do well if the right varieties are chosen. “Freckles” and “Jingle Bells” were recommended. Hellebores are very reliable and don’t forget the impact vegetables such as ruby chard can make to a garden.

Many of the plants and shrubs mentioned in the talk are on display at Anglesey Abbey near Cambridge, the University of Cambridge Botanic Gardens and at Blooms of Bressingham.

Our next meeting is on Wednesday 14 February at 7.30pm in the Community Centre in Cromer. The speaker is Kathy Gray and her topic is ‘The Diversity of the British Garden’. It should be an interesting evening so do come along if you can. Cost £2.

She showed us a beautiful ecclesiastical embroidery of St Martin and the beggar which took several years and was worth every moment spent on it.

There were beautiful works in all sewing mediums of flowers, ideas for which came from the Flower Arranger magazine, also of dogs, birds and church banners. There is no end to her talent.

The vote of thanks was given by Hazel Bright.

Our next meeting is on 19 February at the Primary School at 7.20pm and it is “Hands On’. We are all making a green arrangement. If you would like to join in please bring a small container, oasis, tape and scissors, although these will all be available to buy at our stall. Greenery will be available but please bring extra if you are pruning your garden! All welcome from complete beginners upwards.

Work on the new crematorium, which is situated in a delightful and peaceful area within the Town Council cemetery in Holt Road, began in May 2016 after many years in the planning process.

The building has been sympathetically designed to blend in with the surrounding woodland with the use of local flint stone and natural materials throughout.

The local community has been very supportive of the new crematorium, which offers a bright modern chapel with state of the art music facilities with the option to provide webcasting and DVD recording facilities, together with a Tribute Screen, should these be required, as well as offering the most advanced and efficient cremators available.

Sam Dellbridge, Manager of Cromer Crematorium said “From the first day that we opened our chapel to the public, by showing empathy, care and understanding, we are putting the needs of the families first above all else. The support shown has been amazing and goes to show that our service was needed in north Norfolk for a long time. By providing a modern new alternative chapel to the established crematoria

Dementia - What steps can we take to safeguard our loved ones?

What can we do to help a family member or close friend following a diagnosis of dementia? It is important to remember that if an individual loses, or starts to lose mental capacity a spouse, next of kin, or family member is not automatically appointed to legally deal with their affairs.

Deputyship If you are caring for an individual who has been diagnosed with dementia but they do not have sufficient understanding to make a Lasting Power of Attorney you may apply to the Court of Protection for a Deputyship Order. This enables a person who is appointed as Deputy by the court to make decisions on behalf of the person living with dementia in circumstances when the person is unable to make those decisions themselves.

Lasting Powers of Attorney If an individual is diagnosed with dementia, or other condition that means they are likely to require help and support in the future, they should consider making a Lasting Power of Attorney. This would allow the individual to appoint specific people they trust implicitly to help them, legally, manage their affairs. This can help safeguard against the person falling victim to financial abuse.

You can apply to be a person's Deputy if you are aged 18 or over. Such applicants tend to be close friends, relatives or legal professionals. The Court can appoint two or more Deputies for one person, if appropriate.

The process of applying to become a person's Deputy can take much longer than if the person had taken steps to make a Lasting Power of Attorney while they were still able to. This is because the person is no longer able to willingly appoint those they trust to act on their behalf. Therefore, the Court requires much more information to be able to make a decision that would be in that person's best interests.

Taking advice from a legal profession is essential here to ensure that the person fully understands the powers they are giving to their attorney and also considers who would be best in the role. We help individuals to explore whether a particular family member or friend is suitable. However, if the individual has not taken steps to make a Lasting Power or Attorney or is at the point where they no longer have sufficient mental capacity, the Court can appoint someone to act on the person's behalf as a Deputy.

Due to the nature of the application, and the additional work involved, the process of applying to be a person's Deputy is invariably going to be more costly than if the person had made a Lasting Power of Attorney. However, if the person has reached the point where they

can no longer make decisions on their own, and there is no Lasting Power of Attorney in place, there is little choice other than to go down this route. We aim to deal with such applications as quickly and cost efficiently as possible. We also ensure we make applicants aware of the projected timescales, and possible delays with the Court system, from the outset.

Summary If you are aware that a family member or friend has been diagnosed with dementia we recommend you encourage them to seek legal advice at the earliest opportunity to ensure they get their affairs in order and make a Lasting Power of Attorney. Although this can seem like a daunting task, the help and advice from a skilled lawyer will ensure that process runs smoothly and effectively.

If, however, making a Lasting Power of Attorney is not possible, we suggest a Deputyship application is considered. Our team of trained experts are here to help guide you through this process.

To find out more or discuss your individual requirements in further detail, our dedicated Wills, Trusts and Probate solicitors will be delighted to help. Contact Jennifer Nash for appointments at our North Walsham office on 01692 660230 or Sheringham on 01263 823398.

Fun gangster musical loads up with young talent

A mob of young stage talent descended on Sheringham as the Little Theatre chose its cast for the fun musical Bugsy Malone.

Northern Soulers get back out on the floor for charity

Cromer Soul Club will be back at Cromer Community Centre on Saturday 17 February to host another Keep the Faith Northern Soul dance night.

In conjunction with Cromer Social Services charity group, the event will again be raising funds for Young Minds and hopes to beat the £280 raised in November.

What started as a one-off event has quickly developed into a regular club night, with further outings booked well into the New Year. As usual, Trevor Half-Nelson and Hitman Hawkins will be manning the decks, playing their usual blend of Northern classics and the occasional crossover gem – vinyl 45s only.

Excited to be back in Cromer, Trevor Half-Nelson commented “Attendance more than doubled on our second visit to the venue, so it's clear there is an appetite for this amazing music. As such, we've extended the night to run from 7.30 to 11.30pm.”

The team has promised a complimentary “Cromer Soul Club Keep the Faith” badge to the first 50 arrivals and as always, can promise a competitively priced bar, friendly hosts, a great wooden dance floor and a brand new sound system.

As well as a follow-up Northern night on 21 April, CSC is joining forces with Sugabeat Sound System and Holt Vinyl Vault to launch “reDISCOvery” on Saturday 24 March. This celebration of all things disco takes its inspiration from New York's Studio 54, Saturday Night Fever, and everything in between, so if you've a yearning to relive those boogie nights, make a date.

Information about all Cromer Soul Club events can be found on Facebook, as can details about the Young Minds charity. Cromer Times 534 February 3rd 2018 18

Quartet’s fun quest for the magical music bow

A musical quartet with a surprising number of strings to their bows are bring their unique show to north Norfolk – where one of them has a family home.

Bowjangles are marking 10 years of combining music with singing, dancing, juggling, tumbling, comedy and cabaret.

Their latest show, The Legend of Excalibow, features music from many genres, as the team seeks a magical violin bow known as Excalibow, on a journey through fairytales, folklore, monsters, ancient gods, historical and fantasy figures. And for violinist Bertie Anderson it will be a special homecoming to north Norfolk. She is the daughter of former ITV Anglia producer and Bygones presenter Eddie Anderson, who hosts classical music events at his Templewood home in Northrepps.

Cellist Ezme Gaze said “We do leap around a lot during our show, and when we play at Sheringham Bertie will be seven months pregnant – but still taking a full part. “This show has more of a story narrative than our previous ones, is very physical and involves the most complicated music

we have ever done – including some Shostakovich and Elgar’s Cello Concerto.”

Bowjangles were formed a decade ago in February 2008 with the aim of choreograph music with dance to create a visually exciting show. The quartet has travelled the world performing in theatres and halls, arts festivals and street festivals, in schools, hospitals, cabaret, the occasional prison and even in a forest in the dead of night. They have appeared at the Cromer COAST festival in the past.

Shows have included the sports themed Bowlympics in 2012 and a morning TV show based On The Box, which featured cookery, soap opera, news, weather and Strictly style dance competition, including a visit to the Little Theatre in 2015. Original members Ezme and Bertie – who have been playing music together since they were 16

year olds at the Purcell music school - and Mitch McGugan, have now been joined by newcomer Oliver Izod, who is an “actor who can play violin.” Bowjangles’ The Legend of Excalibow is at Sheringham Little Theatre on Saturday 10 February at 7.30pm. Another successful night for North Walsham and the fundraising efforts of North Walsham Play On Saturday 20 January, a sell-out crowd at The Atrium, North Walsham, enjoyed an evening of comedy ventriloquism and live beat boxing.

Steve Hewlett and friends delivered a selection of new and well-loved routines which were well received by all. Live beat boxing was provided by the amazing Lee Gibling.

Matthew Smith, Trustee and Founder said that the evening had been a great success for all involved.

Lee Gibling, Arthur Lager and Steve Hewlett

He added “it’s great to see the community get behind this event and the work that we as a charity are trying to achieve. Without the support of the local community I’m not sure we would be able to keep going”.

Included within the audience were

a family that had travelled in excess of 3 hours to come and see Steve Hewlett. Steve has been supporting the young girl to learn the fundamentals of ventriloquism.

All proceeds from the event are going towards North Steve Hewlett with Arthur Lager Walsham Play who are currently raising funds towards their £90,000 fundraising appeal which will see a new play park installed onto the Memorial Park in North Walsham, providing play equipment and opportunities for all young children regardless of need and/or ability.

A joint venture between North Walsham Play and North Walsham Town Council, along with funding from the North Norfolk District Council Big Society Fund, saw the first of many new play parks installed back in May 2017.

'PLAY ON'

Rehearsals are now well under way for the Sheringham Players spring production which features two one act plays under the title ' Play On'.

The production involves some well-known and established members of the Players, and a number of new members.

This play is the directing debut of Imogen Bruce, who also appears in the production as the current Lady Buchanan.

The second play, directed by Hazel Randall, is a follow up to the last sell out production of a Grimley play by The Sheringham Players in 2015.

The first play is a bittersweet comedy by Simon Williams entitled 'Happy Birthday Me ' and tells the story of retired actress Margot Buchanan who just wanted "a bottle of Claret and a couple of winners at Sandown" for her birthday. Instead she receives three separate visitors - her ex-husband Leo, an ageing film star fresh from a punch-up with a reporter, Leo's current wife Judy, and his latest mistress Sadie, an aspiring Shakespearian Juliet seeking Margot's acting advice.

The performances are at Sheringham Little Theatre from Thursday 15 - Saturday 17 March at 7.30pm and tickets are now available from the Theatre Box Office at just £12.

Just as the inevitable fireworks kick off, Leo surprises everyone - and then the kissogram shows up. 'Happy Birthday Me' is a touching and very
