North Walsham Funday 2016
Issue 498 9th July 2016
Covering North Walsham, Aylsham and surrounding villages in association with the Cromer Times and Sheringham Independent
Sunday 26 June started with rain, rain & more rain.
The brave Funday Committee donned the waterproofs and carried on regardless. Grays funfair arrived dubious about the firmness of the ground for their lorry. Drurys arrived bringing in the trailer where Ugly Dog Skiffle, Into the Crowd and newbies Shelter for the Wealthy would be performing. HMPH erected the arena then slowly one by one the stalls started to arrive. As the rain clouds passed, the vintage vehicles made their entrance. Soon Aspire Dog Agility had set their arena up as had Norfolk Broads Dog Obedience. The Scratby Donkeys were saddled up & ready to go. After the Arts North Norfolk parade had arrived, the Town Crier officially opened the North Walsham Funday.

North Walsham Probus Club
One of the most common features of social life during the past few decades has been the reluctance of people to become involved in voluntary activities, North Walsham Probuis Club reversed this trend last month when three new members were introduced.
They quickly became immersed in the Club’s atmosphere, during a presentation by Carole Adam on the role of pets, mainly dogs, as therapy.

She described, with the aid of slides, the background of ‘Pets as Therapy’, founded in 1983 and presently based at High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, but with voluntary visitors throughout the country. Dogs are not specifically trained as therapists, but must be pets, and have passed a temperament assessment.
Volunteers with just a small amount of spare time visit hospitals, hospices, nursing and care homes and special needs school to enhance the health and wellbeing of the community.
Experiences with the use of dogs reveal some surprising results, helping children to read being an example. A child, who has difficulty in reading aloud to his or her peer group, may not suffer the same inhibitions reading to a dog. The dog’s inscrutable expression may be more reassuring than the reaction of a human audience to mispronunciation!
A further example was the case of a care home resident, formerly a Crufts judge, who had been confined for several years suffering from dementia, suddenly began to recover his ability to communicate after fondling a visitor’s pet. It may be assumed that the familiarity with the animal reawakened certain senses.
Another incident involved a boy confined to a care home, in a wheelchair, and unable to relax, until he was able to stroke a golden retriever, Members were able to experience similar benefits when, Steve, a visitor, together with his dog Honey walked among them. Hopefully they were not under the same level of stress as care home residents!
Carole, a PAT volunteer and area coordinator, has also introduced her canine partners to the UEA to help students to relieve exam stress.
We shall be pleased to welcome retired, or semi retired professional or businessmen to our next meeting on 27 July. Ted Gadsden

Mothers’ Union
The speaker at our June meeting was the Revd. Susanna Gunner who will soon be leaving the ministry team at St Nicholas Church to take up her new post as Chaplain to the Bishop of Norwich.
We asked Susanna to talk to us about her new job and the challenges that lay ahead.
Susanna began by taking us back to the 1980‛s when she was teaching at The King's School in Peterborough, the school where the Cathedral's choristers were educated. In 1982, the BBC serial The Barchester Chronicles, an adaptation of the novel by Anthony Trollope, was filmed in and around the Cathedral, the choristers providing some of the music. The character Obadiah Slope, played by Alan Rickman, held the post of Chaplain to the Bishop of Grantly and did not set an example that Susanna would wish to follow!
By becoming Chaplain to the Bishop, Susanna automatically becomes a member of ‘The Slope Society‛ whose tongue-in-cheek motto is the hymn line ‘We feebly struggle, they in glory shine‛ which, in a way, sums up the chaplain's role. The chaplain is there to serve the Bishop, to be in the background enabling the Bishop to exercise his ministry effectively.
Among duties too numerous to mention Susanna will carry out research, liaise with everyone involved in the Bishop's duties, sometimes act as the Bishop‛s representative and play a part in the hospitality of Bishop's House. There will be much to learn and we are hoping that Susanna will be able to find time in her busy schedule to come back and see us in a few months time and tell us how she is getting on.
She will be missed at St Nicholas and our prayers go with her as she embarks on this new phase of her life.

Cromer and District Foodbanks thanks two key volunteers
After three years as Treasurer, David Moore is stepping down to spend more time on his other work as a Cromer & District Foodbank volunteer. David now runs a distribution centre every week and is a dedicated driver picking up food and taking it out to distribution centres across the district.
“We want to express our gratitude to David – he has been a fantastic Treasurer and continues to commit so much of his time to the Foodbank,” says Project Manager Ella King.
“We are also hugely grateful to Caroline O’Grady, who has volunteered to take on the role of Treasurer. Caroline joins us in a year that is seeing huge growth.”
Since it was founded in 2012, the foodbank has built up a strong support network for local people in financial crisis, working with over 90 partner agencies to offer food and advice across 200 square miles of North Norfolk. North Walsham Times 498 July 9th 2016

North Walsham Sunday Farmers Markets
These monthly Farmers Markets are a very welcome and popular addition to our regular weekly Thursday markets.
They started over 18 months ago and are held 10am - 2pm on the last Sunday of each month. They have been steadily growing month to month and are now a well established event in the Market Place, with stalls selling a very large variety of locally grown or made produce and goods. We have at least two new extra stalls coming to our 31 July market.
Admission is free, with free parking on the Vicarage Street car park. Half of the stallholders' pitch fees go to local charities and awards are made quarterly helping different groups with deserving projects.
We have found that the trial mid monthly Farmers Market was not sustainable at this present time and have reverted back to our once a month Farmers Markets on the last Sunday, so please make sure and mark up your diaries and calendars.
For up to date information visit and like our Facebook page, North Walsham Markets @NorthWalshamMarkets.
And there’s more!
Looking forward to seeing everyone there, any enquiries to Nigel (Market Manager) 01692 409181.
This year’s show featured the return of Irish Comedian Jimmy Cricket, supported by local multi-instrumentalist Rachel King and singer Eve Bridger and took place at the town’s Community Centre on Friday 24 June.
including The Three Cottages, A & M Shoes Ltd, The Duke Pub and Hayes + Storr Solicitors.
NWP Promotions’ latest show was once more a great success playing to an almost capacity audience.
Organiser Colin Jeary said ‘It was great to once again have a brilliant professional at the Community Centre.’ This was Jimmy’s third trip to the Community Centre, which he loved from the first moment he walked in the doors in 2008.
Colin added, ‘Jimmy is a great entertainer and loves performing in small, as well as large. venues and he always loves to meet his audience and have a chat with them at the end of the show’. The show also featured a great duet which saw Jimmy joining Rachel as they played ‘Bring me Sunshine’ on saxophone.
Stage management, sound and lighting were by members of the North Walsham Players technical crew, who helped add to the professional show. Colin said that, despite other events taking place around the town, he was happy with show and the audience numbers and would like to thank everybody for their support. He was also keen to thank the local businesses who also supported the show 8
Money raised from the event will kick start the year’s fundraising, which this year is for the Norfolk Stroke Association.
Colin is now going to start concentrating on North Walsham Players next production which is due to be staged in November, followed by their annual pantomime which will be staged late February 2017.
New faces are always welcome to join, whether it be on stage or backstage or helping with choreography.
There is no joining fee or weekly subscriptions. There is just an age limit of 8 + and willingness to come and enjoy yourself, whilst making money for charity.

North Norfolk Railway Cromer Dining Train Special Services
priced at £55 per person. The seats are now on sale and are bookable on line through the NNR website.
The North Norfolk Railway is pleased to announce the dates of the special dining services that are scheduled to operate this summer.
Over the past year, a considerable amount of work has been carried out involving Abelio, Network Rail, West Coast Rail and the North Norfolk Railway to offer a number of special dining services to include Cromer. The North Norfolk Railway (NNR) is now able to confirm that the first of these services will operate on 10 August, the first being a VIP only trip followed by a tea train open to pre-booked customers. This will be followed by a lunch and tea train on 11 August, again pre bookable. A further two dates are also being planned for September those being 7th and 8th of the month.
The trains will depart for the full round trip at 12.00 for the lunch service and 17.00 for the tea trains.

Would the person who found my brown walking stick on Yarmouth Road, North Walsham please contact me on 01692 404004 as I would be grateful for its return. Thank you
The plan to operate through to Cromer from the North Norfolk Railway has meant upgrading the coaching stock and equipping one of the based steam locomotives with additional equipment required for mainline operations. The Railway has also had to hire a diesel locomotive, which is registered for mainline use, to haul the train to Cromer. The reason for this is that there are no facilities at Cromer to change the locomotive from one end of the train to the other, therefore the train will have a locomotive on both ends. The current plan will see the steam locomotive hauling the train from Cromer through to Holt.
These special dining services will start from Sheringham and will be

Roasted Cod with tomatoes and basil
What a glorious month of incredible June weather we’ve just had! Guests and diners have been coming in sunburnt and sandy from hours of sunbathing on the packed sandy beaches, and we’ve even had a couple of people suffering from sunstroke following the extreme temperatures here in Cromer. Wouldn’t that be nice? Well despite the monsoon conditions we’ve been really busy at the Grove, with full rooms and restaurants enjoying wonderful seasonal produce from the garden and from John Davies and Icarus Hines in town (and

Weather predictions from Ned Nimbus for the next three months …
Unfortunately, the April to June predictions turned out to be very close to what happened, with only brief appearances of summery weather, thundery outbreaks when the sun did come out and some wide variations on a daily basis in temperature.
The next three months, July to September, will produce more of the same, although as we progress through the period there will be an increase in fine days, thundery weather will still be a threat, but a persistence of cold northerly winds will diminish. There will be more of a dominance of weather coming in from the Atlantic, which should favour us.
Rainfall totals will vary because of a continual threat of heavy thunderstorms following brief hot/very warm days.

An ‘Apportunity’ for Aylsham Norfolk town launches digital guide
Aylsham may be able to trace its roots back over 1500 years but it is coming right up to date with a digital-age initiative from Aylsham Business & Enterprise Forum (ABEF).
Believed to be the first of its kind in East Anglia, the Aylsham App – available to android and iPhone operating systems – will provide local residents and visitors with an invaluable guide to the town, its facilities, events, businesses and other organisations. Developed by local company Norfolk Geeks, the App is joined by a newly-designed website, www.discoveraylsham.org with interaction between the two allowing individual 12
companies and organisations to update their own entries. The App, when downloaded, is also designed to be useable without wi-fi or mobile data, a valuable feature in an area where a reliable connection is not always available.
ABEF Chair, Monica Harding, comments “The App is a very important development for the town and as far as we know, the first of its kind in East Anglia. With financial support, on top of ABEF’s own funds, from Broadland District Council, Aylsham High School and Aylsham Town Council, Norfolk Geeks have been able to develop a state-of-the-art facility which will not only benefit local businesses and add to the
tourist attraction of our historic town, but also provide a valuable source of information for the local community.”
The Aylsham App features local information including historic sites, walks, transport information and events as well as businesses, shops and organisations. It provides a free and invaluable guide to this historic town, for the community and visitors alike.

Hector has a winning eye for design
A creative eight-year-old has his eyes on the prize after winning a competition to design a pair of glasses.
Hector Randell was presented with a collection of Roald Dahl books and a fun model of his design at Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care in the Market Place, North Walsham, as regional winner of the national competition.
Youngsters were encouraged to submit their imaginative designs with all proceeds from the £1 entry fee going to Alzheimer’s Society.
The last few years have been a challenge for Hector, who attends St Nicholas House School, as he has battled with leukaemia, but is now happily in remission.
Hector’s mother La Ayers said “For the first time in Hector’s young life he is able to enjoy himself and do things that other children take for granted. Having spent so much time in hospital, he has developed a love of reading and drawing and saw the competition when he came with me into the branch. He was so excited about entering and is over the moon to have won his first competition.”
Scrivens branch sales adviser, Kira Durrant, said “Alzheimer’s Society is our chosen charity of the year for a second successive year. This was a fun way to engage children and raise awareness of the charity and its work. Hector has been through so much and did a great job with his design. He is a worthy winner.”
Scrivens chose to support Alzheimer’s Society because of the growing evidence of a link between uncorrected hearing loss and dementia, including Alzheimer’s.

It was a lovely relaxing sunny day, as we had plenty of time to enjoy all the exhibits in this beautiful Abbey, as well as a chance to wander into the town centre for a leisurely lunch or have a picnic, as some did. On Thursday 28 July we have a rather special Open Meeting at The Atrium. After drinks and nibbles, Floral designer Mig Kimpton will be on stage at 7pm to demonstrate ‘In the Summer Garden’.
After a 30-year career in the theatre business, when he also ran his business ‘Celebrity Flowers’, Mig decided to concentrate on his love of floral design, events and demonstrating and we are lucky enough to be able to present this unmissable event. Tickets are £12 and available from Sue Bloomfield on 01692 500440.
National Youth Theatre Success
The National Youth Theatre has a fantastic reputation for supporting applicants from different backgrounds across the UK, establishing connections and engaging them with other young people and practitioners who are just starting or are already within the industry.
Sam Thompson and Charlotte Ware, two of the current students at Paston Sixth Form College in North Walsham, have recently been auditioned and given places within the prestigious National Youth Theatre.
Charlotte said that “Paston has prepared and given me so much confidence in performing and believing in myself”. She is also currently on the reserve list to join Guildford School of Acting in September. Sam Thompson believes that National Youth Theatre “is a great opportunity with a great history which sets you up in the industry”.
Another student here, who was accepted into the National Youth Theatre last year, is Pippa Stebbings. Pippa’s aspiration is to become a cast member on the award winning comedy show Saturday Night Live. The National Youth Theatre has encouraged this by giving her feedback from comedy shows that she has taken part in, and by building her confidence within the goals she wants to achieve. Pippa is very keen to study abroad after Paston at New York’s Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre Company.
Principal Kevin Grieve said “we are very proud of what are students are able to achieve whilst they are studying here at Paston Sixth Form College; and we will do everything in our power to support and encourage their ambitions.”

Millfield’s Royal Space Adventure!
Pupils and staff from Millfield Primary School in North Walsham enjoyed two days of celebration and exploration earlier this month.
They began with celebrating the Queen’s Birthday with a special ‘Royal Day’ and in true patriotic style they came dressed in something red, white and blue and enjoyed a ‘royal’ picnic outside.
The following day the whole school took part in a ‘Space Day’ led by Ms Croft, Year 6 teacher and science co-ordinator, who had earlier in the year arranged for three of the pupils to attend ‘Kids in Space,’ to talk to Tim Peake aboard the International Space Station. Many of the pupils had dressed up in a space theme and there were many Princess Leias and
Giant Slayer at The Atrium
This year children from the Salvation Army in North Walsham are again putting on a mini-musical at the Atrium Theatre in the town.
The musical 'Giant Slayer' involves a cast of 20 children, and tells, in fun style, the biblical story of David and Goliath. The children have been busy rehearsing this since April, and this follows the success of the sell-out production Jonah which they performed at the Atrium last year. The musical will also will see a short supporting programme and is to take place at 4pm at the Atrium on Sunday 17 July.
Luke Skywalkers adorning the corridors, along with space travellers from distant galaxies.
Millie Markworth from Maple Class took the theme literally and wore a cleverly crafted costume of the planet Neptune!
Each class had activities throughout the day including making lightsabers, making planets on a night sky background using shaving foam, food colouring and glitter. Ms Croft’s class made space landing crafts for their ‘eggsronauts’, competing with each other to design the best craft that would enable their ‘eggsronaut’ to survive the landing.
The day came to a close with a special assembly with a presentation from each class sharing their activities. The children also had the opportunity to enter the Space Rocket Competition, which was incredibly hard to judge because of the volume of entries and the extraordinary creativity of each model.
'It is a fun, action packed story with a variety of songs, as the children enthusiastically portray this exciting story from the bible' says Major Richard Durrant of the Army.
He adds 'This will be an enjoyable afternoon which should appeal to all ages, and we would encourage you to come and support the children, who have worked so hard for this'.
Tickets priced just £3 each are available from the Army shop in Church Street or from Arts North Norfolk in the town.

North Walsham and District Branch of Cats Protection
Our lovely Harvey has now been confirmed as being FIV positive, so will be looking for a loving new indoor home, either as the only cat, or with another FIV positive cat. He is a favourite with all his carers as he is always so pleased to see them and cannot wait for them to give him a fuss and a cuddle. When you compare his photo now with the one taken shortly after his arrival, it is hard to believe it is the same cat. This lovely lad is not in the first flush of youth but will make an ideal companion for someone looking for an indoor cat. We are all keeping our fingers crossed that someone will come along and choose him soon.
Another recent addition to the cat pens is Bre, who joined us after a call from our vets. Bre is 13-14 years old and was taken to the vets to be put to sleep because she needed treatment, and although the person handing her over had been feeding her for 2 years they did not regard her as their cat. Bre already had one cauliflower ear and now had a nasty haematoma on the other one. Initial treatment to drain the haematoma was not successful so an operation was necessary. At the time of writing, this appears to be working but it is still early days so we will advise you how the treatment progresses next time. Bre is a lovely black and white haired cat Grooming Parlour and is in good health, apart from the problem with her ears Full Grooming & which could have Hydrobathing been caused by a Kerstin Rogers Available fight or by ear mites. Once she has been 01692 501212 given a clean bill of 07817 179228

Salvation Army
North Walsham Salvation Army invite any brass players to join them for a special open band practice as it again tries to develop its community band in the town.
A number of players came along last month and enjoyed themselves, and the appeal still goes out for others who want to come along on Thursday 28 July at 8pm at their Hall in Hall Lane, North Walsham. The band will take part in a special Summer Praise Evening at the Hall at 6pm on Sunday 31 July to which all are also invited to share.
'If you just enjoy a good sing then come and choose your favourites' says Major Richard Durrant, of the North Walsham corps. 'All are very welcome'.
The Army would also invite folks to join them any Thursday morning for coffee and light refreshments plus table top sale every week from 9.30am-11.30am.

It’s what he would have wanted… By Miranda Marshall – Director at Hayes + Storr
The case of Peter Jones related to the preparation of a Statutory Will (ie one ordered to be made by the Court). The facts were as follows. J was 81 and suffered from dementia. He had been married to W for over 40 years and had one child, a 56-year old daughter (D) from a previous marriage, who lived in Canada. D had suffered from addiction, mental health problems and serious financial difficulties. J had only seen her once when she was 13, once again at 23 and again in the last year; otherwise they only had infrequent telephone contact. J’s estate was worth about £2.3million and he had no Will. If he died intestate, after allowing for the statutory legacy of £250,000 plus personal chattels for his W, W and D would each receive half of the remainder of his estate.
The case is interesting as it provides a helpful discussion of the structured decision-making process, the consultation required and the principles applied in Statutory Will cases. There is not room to detail them here. It shows how such cases are heavily fact-dependent.
The Official Solicitor, for J, submitted that it was in J’s best interests that a Statutory Will was made to enable an independent professional executor to be appointed and to avoid the intestacy provision, which gave too much weight to D’s limited involvement in
J’s life and failed adequately to provide for W, given their long marriage.
J was described as “an old-fashioned and authoritarian man”. He had intended that W and D would both benefit from his estate in due course, but preferred to retain control over his money and relationships for as long as possible. D had always loved him and they had a close and loving relationship until they separated. The absence of D’s visits was explained by her sensitivity, fragile mental health and financial circumstances, and by J’s inapproachability, rather than by lack of interest on her part. J loved D and had stated that he intended to include both D and W in his Will.
The fact that J had not made a Will did not demonstrate that he wished to limit W’s inheritance to what she would receive under intestacy or Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependents) Act 1975. It was likely that he intended to arrange for W to receive the greater part of his estate, whilst making reasonable financial provision for D.
It was considered improbable that J would not wish to benefit D. The receipt of funds by D would have a life-changing effect and no significant effect on J or W’s well-being.
It was decided that the estate should be split 25% for D and 75% for W. D’s benefit should be made up of a lifetime gift together with a legacy on J’s death with a combined value of £625,000. The immediate gift enabled the purchase of a home followed by a cash legacy when J died.
The Court ordered that it was in J’s best interests that a lifetime gift and a Statutory Will were to be made accordingly.

Have your say on new council ward boundaries for two Norfolk councils andrewc67@live.com
The independent Local Government Boundary Commission for England is asking local people for their help to draw up a new pattern of council wards for North Norfolk District Council and South Norfolk District Council.
The consultations are the first stage of and electoral review of each council, which will re-draw ward boundaries across both districts.
The Commission has also announced that it is minded to recommend that North Norfolk should have 40 councillors in future: a reduction of eight from the current arrangements.
The Commission has also agreed that South Norfolk should have 46 councillors in the future: the same as its current arrangements.
The Commission now needs information from local people and groups to help it to produce a new pattern of wards to accommodate North Walsham Times 498 July 9th 2016
councillors across both districts.
In drawing up new boundaries, the Commission aims to deliver electoral equality for voters in council elections so that each councillor represents roughly the same number of voters. The review also aims to ensure that the new council wards reflect, as far as possible, the interests and identities of communities across the districts.
Professor Colin Mellors, Chair of the Commission, said “We are asking local people and organisations to help us draw up new wards for North Norfolk and South Norfolk District Councils. As we develop the recommendations for each council, we will take into account local community identities as well as ensuring electoral equality for voters.
If you have a view about which communities or neighbourhoods should be part of the same council ward, then we want to hear from you. And if you think a road, river or railway makes for a strong boundary between communities in
your part of your district, then this consultation is for you. Alternatively, if you are simply interested in the way your council is run, just log on to our website to explore our interactive maps and have your say.
Your views will make a difference.
We will carefully consider all evidence that is provided during this phase of the review whoever it is from and whether it applies to the whole of your district or just a small part of the it.
“Residents will then have a further chance to have their say after we publish our draft recommendations for both councils in November.”
Local people have until 5 September 2016 to submit their views. Further information on the review and interactive maps of the existing wards can be found at www.consultation.lgbce.org.uk and www.lgbce.org.uk. 23

Laser liposuction under local anaesthesia
Liposuction means a major surgical procedure to most people. What is less well known is that it can be carried out in a safe, gentle and comfortable manner.
If I told you that you can have liposuction while listening to music and then walk out of the procedure room-would you believe me? Yes, it is possible and has been for a while.
Coltishall Clinic has been using lasers for liposuction for last many years. Recently we acquired the newest fat melting laser from Italy. Laser liposuction is a well-known and established procedure. What is unique about this laser is its ability to melt fat, which is 10 times more than the older lasers. This is the first such laser unit in use in the UK. We not only offer laser liposuction-we have a choice of lasers to select based on every patient’s unique characteristics.

fat that do not go away despite diet and exercise. You have to be in good general health without significant medical problems and near your ideal body weight. This is not a weight loss measure but a body sculpting or contouring treatment.
What areas are commonly treated? Mummy tummy, upper and lower abdomen, cheeks, jowls and neck, love handles, muffin tops, hips, man boobs or moobs, upper arms, thighs, knees and most other body areas with localised collections of fat.
What happens during the procedure? You will have a medical consultation and treatment plan will be discussed. Dr Gheyi will then mark the area to be treated with you looking in the mirror. Your wishes and desires will dictate the extent of the procedure and this will be agreed beforehand. A detailed consent procedure will take place. Fine needles will be used to administer a very dilute solution of local anaesthesia while you will be chatting with the team. A tiny 0.6 mm laser fibre will then be introduced into the treatment area. The laser will be activated after you have worn the eye protection. You will not feel any pain. The laser will melt the fat. The procedure is stopped here for small areas of fat or to tighten lax skin. For larger area small stainless steel tubes (micro cannula) will be used to suck out melted fat. Following this, you will be able to stand up and look at your new body contour in a mirror. Compression garments will then be applied and you will be able to go home. You will need someone to drive you home.
What happens after the procedure? You will have dressings and tight compression garments for 24 hours. After this, the dressings can be removed and gentle compression used for further 3-5 days. You are encouraged to go for a light walk and bed rest in not recommended. Most people return to normal activities within 2-5 days. Slight degree of soreness-similar to sore muscles after unaccustomed exercise is common.
So, if you have wanted liposuction but worry about general anaesthesia, hospitalisation or lengthy recovery period or bruising, give us a call on 0800 0430737 or log on to the website www.coltishallclinic.co.uk for more information.

The rugby season may not begin until September but the ever-popular Touch Rugby has already re-started. Everyone is welcome, all abilities, ages and fitness levels. Just turn up at Scottow, 7.30pm on Thursdays.
With player numbers increasing, for the first time in many years the club will next season be running a third team. ‘The Warriors’ will play 16 league games in Eastern Counties Four North and enter the Norfolk 3rd XV Cup. These games will be spread across 32 weeks so there will be a number of free weekends. The furthest the side will have to travel in the league is Lowestoft. New players are very welcome contact tony.marcantonio@talktalk.net. Next season's league fixtures have been published. The Vikings begin with two away games, Old Priorians (who play at Perivale in West London) on 3 September and newly promoted Sudbury the following week, with Chelmsford visiting Scottow on 24 September.
North Walsham is very much a community based club and as such relies heavily on a wide array of volunteers. Each year the club makes an ‘Outstanding Contribution Award’ - pictured is last season's winner Richard Polley (on the left) receiving the shield at the Annual Dinner from ex England international Richard Hill.
