OUR AIM AT RNLI IS TO ALWAYS PUT LIFE FIRST FAMILY FUN

The RNLI has teamed up with the Marine Conservation Society (MCS) to help keep our beaches safe and clean for people and wildlife. MCS recommends you visit goodbeachguide.co.uk to discover Britain’s best beaches and avoid swimming in dirty water.

When you’ve arrived at your chosen beach, exploring the seashore is fantastic fun for all the family. You can find a new world of wildlife in shallow pools among boulders and sands.

While most creatures are harmless, weeverfish, jellyfish and sea anemones are common finds that will cause a painful injury, so please remember to look and not touch.

To keep yourself and beach wildlife safe, MCS says: leave animals where you find them carefully lift and replace any rocks you may have

removed – there are animals underneath that need them for shelter leave attached seaweed in place – there is plenty lying loose on the shoreline do not trample through the rock pools play away from cliffs. continued on page 5

Making Aylsham Road Safer

On 1 July Norfolk County Council completed works costing around £30, 000 as a start to making Aylsham Road safer.

The works involved pre patching to level the existing road surface and a new surface dressing. The works were on the narrow section of the road between its junction with Station Road and the railway bridge.

The white line in the centre of this part of Aylsham Rd has been removed. The aim to is to make drivers realise it is not a two lane road and thus make them drive more carefully. New larger signs warning drivers on the approaches to the narrow section of Aylsham Road that the road narrows and there are pedestrians in the road are also to be installed. These signs along with the continuing presence of a sign showing drivers their speed have been jointly funded by North Walsham Town Council and Norfolk County Council.

North Walsham County Cllr Eric Seward, who chairs an informal working group of residents, local Councillors and Council Officers helping to improve the safety of Aylsham Road said “This a welcome start. The campaign to have a 20mph speed limit on this part of Aylsham Road still continues, along with the demand for a New Link Road around the western side of the town to divert traffic away from narrow residential streets”.

Berni Marfleet of the Aylsham Road SOS (Save our Streets) Group said “We are pleased that the Town and County Councils and the Police have now recognised the need to address the serious safety issues of pedestrians, especially large numbers of school children dicing with increasing traffic on a pavement-less road, which is also a major lorry and bus route in and out of North Walsham. The Council warning signs will be enhanced with our own speed awareness signage funded by local hauliers, the Community Shop and local residents. This will, we hope, lead to further traffic calming measures including a 20 mph limit. Our children deserve a safe environment!”

Of Wheat or War

England 1381 is a time of dreadful hardship for the poor, of witch hunts, corrupt government and a boy king, Richard and his uncle John of Gaunt.

Inspired by a true event and written by local author Margaret Callow, Of Wheat or War, is the story of the Norfolk men who march to join Wat Tyler in a protest against the Poll Tax and bad working conditions.

Geoffrey Litster, a dyer from Felmingham, leads the group of peasants to London to be part of the rising, but what starts in a peaceful protest becomes a desperate fight for their survival in the bloody Battle of North Walsham.

Next time you travel through the town, look out for the mossy reminders of their struggle, a stump cross by the Water Tower and an ageing stone pillar at the start of Heath Road.

Of Wheat or War : The Battle of North Walsham now available from Showcase Gallery, North Walsham, Holt Bookshop and other good bookshops, price £9.99.

RIP CURRENTS

Rips are strong currents that can quickly take swimmers from the shallows out beyond their depth. Lifeguards will show you where you can avoid rips but if you do get caught in one: stay calm – don’t panic if you can stand, wade don’t swim keep hold of your board or inflatable to help you float raise your hand and shout for help never try to swim directly against the rip or you’ll get exhausted swim parallel to the beach until free of the rip, then make for shore if you see anyone else in trouble, alert the lifeguards or call 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.

TIDES A beach can seem like a vast playground, but the tide can come in surprisingly quickly. Many lifeboat and lifeguard rescues are to people getting cut off by the rising water. To prevent this happening to you, get local tidal information from the Harbour Master or the Tourist Information Centre. Always keep a look out for the direction of the tide while on the beach. Just be aware ... and if in doubt, move out!

WW1 Memorial Window St Nicholas Church - speaker – Rev Canon Paul Cubit

The Rev Canon presented his talk with the help of slides. His first slide showed an outline of the east widow which gave dates of its dedication of approximately 1330 and 1405. The style of the period between 1280 – 1380 was Georgian Gothic. Unfortunately, the above records are missing for the period 1650 – 1750. In 1810 all the windows were blown in during a strong gale and were replaced with clear glass, therefore all of the stained-glass windows are Victorian.

During WW1, 700 North Walsham men were enlisted in the armed forces, and 99 never returned home. Following the cessation of hostilities, a committee was formed to decide on a suitable site for a memorial to remember the fallen. It was decided that a replacement of the window at the east end of the church would

be most suitable. They then set about raising the necessary funds to achieve their aim.

A Mrs Edith donated ÂŁ500 towards its cost. It was decided by the committee that the work package should also include raising floor on which the altar stood and the alter rail to have an opening of the same width as the passage between the choir stalls. The subject of the window outside panels were debated. Option 1, it should be a dedication taken from the Gospel of St Michael and St George, St Michael for Justice and St George for Valour. The price

for which should include the filling in of the three lower divisions above the sill with plain glass. Option 2, the suggestion was for a Sailor and a Soldier, both in full WW1 uniform.

The principle design was for a very large window, restful in mind with the lower area be covered by a curtain which bears the architect trade mark of a stag.

The window now requires repairing because it is bulging, due to the steel framework corroding. Most of the ÂŁ95,000 required has been raised, work will start soon with the aim of completing by May 2019.

The next speaker in September, will be David Morton on the ‘Tower of London’. Mike Sothcott

What a summer we are having! It’s been a glorious for us and, providing they can get out of the heat when they need to (although my lurcher seems to think she knows better!), then our pets seem to be enjoying it as well.

Each different season brings with it a number of commonly seen ailments at the vets. Summer is synonymous with flare ups of skin conditions that are linked to environmental factors such as grasses and pollens, and also certain parasites such as ticks and harvest mites, which are more prominent in warmer months. Another summer classic are grass seed foreign bodies which often work their way into feet and ears.

We get fairly used to retrieving these barbed little chaps from swollen paws, ear canals and occasionally airways when they are inhaled and this was what I half expected to find when a young Labrador presented with persistent sneezing. On this occasion he had suddenly started showing signs of nasal discomfort following running through undergrowth. This sneezing and irritation did not settle so we used a rhinoscope- a tiny fibreoptic camera, to look up his nose. We could see something abnormal, but only when we were able to guide a pair of forceps onto it and retrieve the object did we realise quite how uncomfortable he must have been. He had managed to get a 4 inch long solid piece of wood lodged up his nose! Fortunately, within days of having it removed he was back to his normal self and very lucky the object hadn’t travelled even further back where it could have caused some more serious damage.

There wasn’t much that could have been done to stop this rather unfortunate accident, but grass seed related problems can be minimised by checking your dogs feet and ears after walks and making sure your cats are not developing matts in their coat where seeds can hide. EEAST to reinstate Volunteer Ambulance First Responder cover been trained to help in a life-threatening for children following pressure by MP

Following a meeting held by local MP Norman Lamb with top NHS England officials, the East of England Ambulance Service has agreed to reinstate paediatric cover for under-eights by Volunteer Ambulance First Responders from 18 July, subject to governance sign-off.

The cover for children between the ages of two and eight was withdrawn in October 2017 following a widely-disputed governance report. Tim Thirst, Chairman of the Association of Ambulance First Responders in England and Coordinator of a First Responder group in North Norfolk, reached out to his local MP Norman Lamb to secure a meeting with NHS about the change in policy.

Following correspondence and a meeting with NHS England facilitated by Mr Lamb, EEAST’s new Medical Director has agreed to reintroduce paediatric cover, so that First Responders can once again aid children under eight as well as older children and adults in medical emergencies.

work really hard to ensure people in their local communities receive essential medical attention as soon as possible.

“Ending cover for children under eight was a potentially fatal policy – I find it absurd that it was implemented without any discussion. The EEAS was the only Trust in the country to do this. The sooner volunteers are once again able to respond to those cases, the better.”

Tim Thirst, Chairman of the Association of Ambulance First Responders in England and a Coordinator of a First Responder group in North Norfolk said "These volunteers were being prevented from attending children in their own community. Children who were at the same school as theirs. Children who were next-door neighbours. Children who they had

situation.

"There was no consultation on the withdrawal and no warning. What made it worse was that it was eventually uncovered that there was no reason to make that decision in the first place. "It was implied that this decision would affect First Responders throughout the country, which was very worrying for them as well. This turned out not to be the case as no other Ambulance Trusts had been consulted nationally on the issue in the first place.

"With help from Norman Lamb, we managed to track back the history of the decision and to alert Professor Stephen Powis, National Medical Director NHS, who asked Professor Jonathan Benger, National Clinical Director for Urgent Care for NHS England to investigate."

Mr Lamb said “This is brilliant news. Volunteer Ambulance First Responders

SPREADING THE WORD! Please Miss, I couldn't help it It just sat there you see, So tempting for a little boy With mischief just like me.

That carton on the floor Miss, It might be full – or not, Perhaps if I just kicked it With a little gentle shot? Well, it didn't move Miss So I guessed it wasn't empty, But how much was there in it A little, or maybe plenty? I didn't like to bend Miss, So I stamped on it instead, It was, sort of, accidental, I said inside my head.

But yoghurt is so runny Miss It has made quite a mess, Yes, I do appreciate the fact I give you lots of stress.

Please Miss, Jimmy wants to say I didn't do it for a dare, But how, before he goes home, Can he clean it from his hair?

And Miss, the caretaker isn't pleased He slid on it you see, Crashed into the lockers And thinks he's broke his knee. Lunchtime detention? OK miss I can't go out to play, I didn't want to anyhow It's raining hard today.

Millfield’s Mythology Magic!

Millfield Primary School in North Walsham is celebrating once again! Pupils from Years 5 and 6, who are learning Latin, entered this year’s Minimus Mythology Competition.

Millfield was one of the pilot schools chosen for the programme and since the beginning of the programme at the school, which has been running for seven years, Millfield has always had prize winners and this year was no different.

The judge’s comments ranged from congratulating the originality, sophisticated vocabulary and creativity used and went on to say that all the entries this year have been of a high standard.

Violet Rayner and Isla Harrison won a Runner-up Prize in the Art category, Tegan Hicks won an Individual Prize in the Creative Writing category for her poem and Grace Fisher won a Runner-up prize for her diary entry, which the judges commented on saying “Grace made an imaginative and adventurous choice to write her diary entry in Latin. It was great to see her applying her Latin talents to a creative piece of writing.

Mrs Price, who teaches Latin at the school, said, “I am so proud of the effort all the pupils gave with their entries this year, a massive well done to the winners I am delighted that they have kept the tradition going!

Team GB Watch Out!

2018 has been a fantastic and amazing ‘sports’ year for Millfield. Children from across the school have competed in various sporting events and have either come runners up or winners of their event/league. Most recently, 10 Millfield pupils competed in the inaugural Norfolk School Games ‘Quadkids’ Athletic competition at the UEA on Friday 20 June.

The children competed in four separate events, 75m, 600m, Vortex throw and standing jump and their individual scores were added together for an overall team score.

The children also got the chance to speak to local commonwealth games steeplechase athlete, Iona Lake during the day.

Everyone played their part and Millfield came top of the county! Mr Smith the schools PE co-ordinator and year 3/4 teacher, who took the children to the event, shared their fantastic news with the school in a special assembly honouring their achievement.

Mr Smith said “The children were all fantastic and enjoyed the chance to compete at the highest level. Team GB may have some competition in the future! Well done to all those involved.

Summer fun at The Museum of the Broads

The long sunny days are upon us and everyone is in the holiday mood! Why not spend some time this month in Stalham at the Museum of the Broads.

The schools are out! If you are looking for something to entertain the children, then Stalham is the place to be. Not only is the Windmill trail taking place around the town, for a bit of on foot mooching, but the Museum has trails, interactives, a couple of play boats and an enviable picnic spot by the river. Its Vikings Day is on Sunday 5 August. Did you know many places locally still have Viking names? Dressing up and family activities are all part of the fun.

The Victorian steam launch, Falcon, - recently described on Trip Advisor as the Best Broads Tour available will be operating Sun to Fri in August. Toot toot.

August marks 104 years since Britain entered the First World War, and the Museum has a great exhibition and film looking at how war affected people living in your area. The stories of local people both on the front and at home are fascinating, so give it a whirl.

Finally, if you have never seen Barton Broad or a Sailing Regatta, the Museum has a fab way of watching. Bank holiday Sunday and Monday, travel by steam boat to and from Barton Regatta to the Punt club pontoon on Barton Broad, watch the sailing, and have a nice piece of cake to boot!

It’s all going on so why not #makeitstalham this August. Open Sunday to Friday 10am to 4.30pm. Museum of the Broads, The Poor’s Staithe, Stalham, NR12 9DA, www.museumofthebroads.org.uk

Heritage Open Days 2018 : double weekend programme revealed

It was exciting news for Norfolk’s Heritage Open Days (HODs) fans as the festival revealed its 2018 programme and for the first time in HODs history, the much-loved annual event will run across two weekends instead of one.

On Thursday 6 – Sunday 9 & Thursday 13 – Sunday 16 September, Norfolk is set to host eight busy days of free tours, talks, walks, open days, exhibitions, performances and open gardens. It’s a chance to celebrate local communities, meet new people, share stories and learn more about where we live and the places we visit.

Almost 300 free events are planned and the festival brochure is now available at The Forum in Norwich, Tourist Information Centres, libraries and venues across the county. An electronic version of the brochure is also be available online at www.theforumnorwich.co.uk/hods

Many of the festival events are drop-in and visitors can just turn up on the day. For venues where space is limited, tickets must be pre-booked and bookings opened on Monday 23 July.

In 2017, over 70,000 people enjoyed exploring and discovering all sorts of hidden heritage right on their doorstep. In 2018, plenty of the usual favourites will be opening their doors along with lots of exciting new venues and events on offer.

Here’s a taster: • A twilight tower tour at the Cathedral of St John the Baptist • Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall are opening their magnificent doors and gardens • NR Own Words : Lakenham Speaks! The Forum has been working with Girl Guides on a social history project – don’t miss their performance based heritage exhibition • Catton Park is celebrating Humphry Repton with an open day to mark the bicentenary of the landscape gardener‘s death • Horsey Windpump is preparing its sails for turning for the first time in 75 years • Get digging, dress up like a Roman and go to Roman training school at Caistor Roman Town • Go on the Talking Statues trail and hear stories from Norwich’s statues as they prepare to talk back! • Visit a former Cold War atomic weapons bomb store near Thetford and climb a 25ft watchtower • Dress to impress at the Wymondham Vintage Day and step back in time with live music, classic cars, games, marching Suffragettes, tug-of-war and more

Special themed events include: • Extraordinary Women - events across the county will mark the centenary of the Act that granted some women the right to vote • Weird Norfolk - a partnership with Archant

TRUNCH FUN AND SCARECROW DAY

celebrates the strange world of Norfolk’s weird and wonderful folklore with crafts, exhibitions and walks • Norfolk Remembers – 2018 marks the centenary of the end of the First World War and a number of events will remember the contribution made by Norfolk people

Cathy Eden, HODs Coordinator at The Forum, Norwich, said “This year’s festival has a whole host of new events to look forward to. Visitors of all ages can explore, be curious and enjoy a sneaky peek inside places that aren’t always open to the public. There are plenty of family friendly events and activities to enjoy right across the county and it’s all free!”

The HODs programme in Norwich and across much of Norfolk is coordinated and promoted by The Forum with support from Norwich City Council and Norwich Tourist Information Centre. The programme is also delivered in partnership with Breckland Council, Broadland District Council, Thetford Town Council, Great Yarmouth Borough Council, South Norfolk Council, North Norfolk District Council, Visit North Norfolk and many local organisations and individuals.

For further information on the national Heritage Open Days programme visit www.heritageopendays.org.uk. For local enquiries about HODs, please get in touch via hods@theforumnorwich.co.uk and visit www.theforumnorwich.co.uk/hods for updates and tickets.

Coming soon to the

ATRIUM INEMA

On a hot sunny day hundreds of visitors attended our Fun and Scarecrow Day on Sunday 15 July.

It was great to see so many people smiling and enjoying themselves at the events in the Paddock which included a popular gun dog display, a fine array of classic cars, tractors and motorbikes, Trunch Garden Society Summer Show and an art exhibitions and stalls.

Children were able to enjoy a Punch and Judy show and lots of games - the coconut shy was so popular we ran out of coconuts before the end!

Outside the Paddock the Scarecrow Trail, children’s treasure trail and the Beekeeping display were big hits.

Refreshments and cold drinks were in high demand all day!

At the time of writing it is anticipated that we will receive in excess of £2000 which will be going towards supporting the many clubs and societies within the village.

Michael Tyler, on behalf of Trunch Village Society, expressed his gratitude to all those that before, during and after the event gave up their time to contribute towards making the day such a success. North Walsham Times 547 July 28th 2018

North Walsham and District Branch of Cats Protection

While Stephanie was on holiday recently the calls to the ‘cat phone’ were redirected to my phone as is our normal practice.

Many of the calls received were from people who for various reasons could no longer care for their cat(s) or kittens and were hoping that we would be able to take them into care. Unfortunately, this is very rarely possible as we usually have a waiting list of cats and kittens waiting to take up residence in one of our pens. We will put them on the waiting list and once a pen becomes free will prioritise those that have the greatest need. It is therefore important for the owner to be completely open and honest about the reason why they can no longer care for their pet. We do also suggest they try other charities and branches of Cats Protection to get on their waiting lists, as it does depend on how quickly the cats in residence are re-homed as to when a space will be available. If you are lucky and find another charity can take your cat in sooner please let us know as it is most frustrating to ring someone once a pen becomes available, only to find the cat no longer needs to come in.

We do give priority to kittens coming into care especially those that have been born outside. It is important, when dealing with feral kittens, to catch them as soon as possible as socialising at an early age is vital. Some recent additions have been borderline for this reason and will need extra socialising before they are put up for adoption. For those who have unexpected litters of kittens, please contact us early so that we can ensure we have a space available when the kittens are ready to leave mum. These unexpected litters often occur when the owner has bought a cat on one of the websites and been told it is neutered, when in fact it has not been, or

that the cat, being ginger, it must be male (as applied to a recent call). Incidentally, ginger females are not that rare as we have had some come into care most of the years the branch has been in existence. Although some of the cats in care are listed on our website, not all are there so it is better to ring Stephanie to find out what is available. Some may not be on because, like Rosy and Max, they have not been to the vets for the health check and vaccinations or they may be receiving veterinary care like Mittens, waiting for a dental and Charley who has skin problems.

Hedgehog Haven

It's an extra busy summer with the hot dry weather so many hoglets are coming into care as the mothers cannot find any food or water so cannot feed their young, which means they are abandoning the babies or dying from starvation.

There are four in this litter, I have another litter of three who need syringe feeding and another litter of two. That's without the other hogs who are in care & need cleaning out etc. I'm also getting messages from all over the county about finding hedgehogs in trouble. I try to advise where the nearest rescue centre is but I have been told that all rescue centres are full to bursting like myself so please offer a shallow dish of water & meaty pet food. It can be a lifesaver to a mother and her hoglets.

Council Tax collection – another stellar performance by NNDC

Targets beaten as authority continues its success with rates collection The revenues and benefits team at North Norfolk District Council collected 98.74% of Council Tax and 99.4% of Business Rates, according to year-end figures for 2017/18.

The Council Tax figure is the highest percentage collected for more than 10 years and the second highest ever collected by the authority.

Meanwhile, the Non-Domestic (Business) Rates figure is the joint 14

highest percentage ever collected by NNDC.

The figures mean that NNDC had the best Business Rates collection figure in Norfolk and the second best for Council Tax. Nationally, NNDC was joint 25th out of 326 authorities for Business Rates and joint 38th out of 326 for Council Tax.

The collection information has been submitted to NNDC’s Cabinet, Scrutiny and Full Council as part of the Debt Management Annual Report. North Walsham Times 547 July 28th 2018

Goats on a Slope now have their own merchandise Local artist’s work to adorn range of souvenirs honouring popular Bagots

North Norfolk’s famous herd of Bagot goats are now the stars of their own merchandise.

The popular goats, who spend the summer on habitat-management duty on the cliff at Cromer, have proved to be a popular draw for tourists – and fans can now take home some souvenirs of the herd.

The Goats on a Slope range of goodies, which include mugs, tea-towels, ceramic fridge magnets, mounted prints, postcards, key rings and coasters, all feature original artwork by Ian Richardson, a North Norfolk District Council employee who has what until recently was a hidden talent for drawing. Goats on a Slope merchandise

“I did panic when I was first asked to do this as no one really knew what kind of design was required and it was all a bit overwhelming. I do art mainly as a hobby!” Ian said.

“I tried a host of different designs before having an epiphany at 5.30am at my breakfast table of how the goats should look.

“It is so exciting to see my designs on items and it is a dream come true for me. I’m proud to be a part of the Goats on a Slope project.”

The range was officially launched on Norfolk Day 27 Artist Ian Richardson, left, and NNDC July 27 at the North Animal Control officer Mark Frosdick Norfolk Information with some of the new merchandise Centre in Cromer when Ian was on hand to sign the merchandise. There are also some limited-edition prints available.

The merchandise follows last year’s ‘Goat Tote’ bag, which proved popular.

As well as being popular with locals and tourists, the nine nannies and 10 kids carry out an important habitatmanagement role. In the past, the cliff area has become overgrown, leading to a problem with litter embedded and snagged in bushes. The Bagot goats graze on rough materials rather than grass, and that helps keep plant growth across the area under control.

It has also negated the need for North Norfolk District Council to spend taxpayers’ money on keeping the cliff in good order. North Walsham Times 547 July 28th 2018

The Graham Allen Award - showcasing building excellence

Nominate your favourite design by entering it into the North Norfolk District Council awards Entrants to the building excellence competition run by North Norfolk District Council, the Graham Allen Award, have until the end of this month to put in their nominations.

Cabinet Member for Planning, said “It’s always a joy to spend a day with the judging panel for the annual Graham Allen Awards.

The Graham Allen Award has for the last 36 years celebrated best practice in design and conservation in the district. North Norfolk has a history of producing high quality innovative developments and sensitive renovation projects, which complement the district’s unique environment.

Councillor Sue Arnold, Cabinet Member for Planning, said “This is a great opportunity to seek recognition for projects which have made a standout contribution to the built environment, local communities and heritage. Whether it is new build, extension, restoration or refurbishment, the Graham Allen Award recognises excellence in all design projects.

“The judging panel always appreciates having a wide range of entries to choose from and is grateful to all those people who take the time and trouble to enter.” Councillor Vivienne Uprichard, Shadow

Aylsham Chess Club

The Wild Acres project involved the demolition of a bungalow and the clever resiting and building of a contemporary four bedroom house. It was praised by judges for its intelligent reaction to site context, topography and landscape setting; visual interest portrayed by the curved form; low lying position and shallow pitch ensuring a discreet presence; and sustainable technology including ground source heating.

Wild Acres

The project was described as a “stunning piece of contemporary design”.

“Looking at the nominated constructions for the year and admiring the style and innovation in the beautiful North Norfolk area is a real pleasure.”

The panel of judges includes members of the Development Control Committee, the Cabinet Member for Planning and Mr Edward Allen, who represents the Allen family.

Originally inaugurated in 1982 as a memorial to the late Graham Allen, the first Chairman of NNDC, the award scheme has recognised a diverse selection of North Norfolk’s finest architecture. The award, in the form of a bronze plaque, is presented to the scheme considered to have made the most significant contribution to the built environment within the district.

The smile says it all!

5 local chess players, Bruce Carman, Bob Grindrod, David Owen, Matt Rausch and Jonathan Reeve, have decided to re-establish Aylsham Chess Club in time for the 2018-19 season.

The plan is to enter teams in the NCCA (Norfolk County Chess Association) league which starts in October, as well as having internal graded competitions and playing friendly chess games.

The club will be based at Aylsham & District Ex-Service & Social Club, 64 Hungate Street, Aylsham, NR11 6AA.

Outside Aylsham & District Ex-Service & Social Club, left to right - David Owen (Aylsham Chess Club Secretary), Linda Lutkin (Aylsham & District Ex-Service & Social Club Stewardess) & Bob Grindrod (Aylsham Chess Club - Chair)

included the extension to Binham Priory, the refurbishment of the Gunton Arms in Thorpe Market, Hootz House at Pensthorpe Natural Park and last year’s winner, Wild Acres, on Holt Road, Heydon.

Over the summer months members will be running events to raise funds and generate interest in the new club.

If you would like to find out more about events, become a member or sponsor Aylsham Chess Club contact David Owen, Club Secretary at davidowen364@ btinternet.com or 07796 292318
