For the love of Selina
Pupils and staff from Millfield Primary School in North Walsham came together, along with Selina Gray’s family for a special memorial service, to remember such a caring, thoughtful, brave little girl who sadly lost her battle against leukaemia in July 2017.
The pupils and staff at Millfield Primary wanted to have a special place to remember her and a ‘pink’ mini garden was created (pink was Selina’s favourite colour).
Mrs Alison Smith, the Nurture Heart Lead at the school, along with Mrs Bloom spent the summer creating the garden.
The North Walsham Community Shop kindly donated some of the money to facilitate the pink haven. The garden has a pink bench, a pink wooden raised flower bed with pink stones and flowers which will bloom in the spring.
The intimate service was held by Rev Rachel Diennes from St. Nicholas Church, who read prayers and gave a blessing. Some of Selina’s classmates read out poems and some her friends imparted their special memories of her.

Selina’s family were overwhelmed by the service and garden. Her dad said that he just wanted her to be remembered and that this was more than they expected.
Selina had been battling leukaemia since she was four and along with her family raised money for various children cancer charities. Selina will always be remembered and those who were lucky enough to have had her in their lives will be richer for it.

A short ceremony was conducted by Mr R Barker, Branch Vice-Chairman, with wreaths being laid by Mr D Mann, Secretary of the Branch and Miss H Ottley, eldest daughter of the current tenants followed by a minute’s silence.
After the ceremony tea and cakes were kindly provided by Mrs E Ottley, for the cold and windswept participants.

The North Walsham corps of the Salvation Army would like to say a big thank you to the public of North Walsham area for their generosity in so many ways over the recent Christmas period.
The Army band, songsters and timbrels were very busy in many different venues sharing the Christmas message in music throughout the Christmas period.
In some of these donations totalling over £2000 were received towards the Army's local community work. Specific donations of over £400 were also given locally in response to the Army's TV appeal and £513 was raised at the 'Carols at Christmas' event held at the Atrium. Additionally a number of toys were given and over £700 for the Christmas 'Toys and Tins' appeal in conjunction with BBC Radio Norfolk. This enabled the Army to help over 2000 families (including over 5000 individuals) across Norfolk with food parcels and toys.
'Sustaining all the programmes and work we do would be so difficult without the generosity of so many', says Major Richard Durrant, Commanding Officer of North Walsham Corps. 'Once again a heartfelt thanks as you partner with us in this way to enable our work over Christmas and throughout the year to carry on' he adds. Monies are still coming in.
For more details on the Army and its work you can contact Richard on 01692 652263 or email richard/durrant@salvationarmy.org.uk

Judith Kerr’s first picture book, The Tiger Who Came to Tea began as a bedtime story for her own children and
was published in 1968, soon becoming a classic, selling millions of copies worldwide. It celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2018 with a special exhibition that has been touring the country and this week arrives in Norfolk.
Little explorers will be able to find tigers hidden around the house, before going down to the kitchens to have fun dressing up. Alongside copies of original artwork, notes and sketches, children can then enjoy stepping into Sophie’s kitchen to have tea with a lifesize tiger. Tiger themed storytelling sessions will be held on Wednesdays and on a variety of weekend dates, these are bookable online in advance via the website, or just turn up on the day (places available on a first come first serve basis). Please check the website for dates and times.
For older ones, explore Judith’s childhood through a film on her experiences of having to escape Germany during the war, how it felt to be a refugee in Switzerland, then France before finally settling in London in 1936. The film features children from Christ Church C of E Primary School in Newcastle upon Tyne who investigated why the issues of conflict and displacement are as relevant today as in the 1930s.
Judith Kerr said ‘I first told this story to my small daughter long ago. She was rather critical of my other stories but used to say, “Talk the tiger!” So, when she and her brother were both at school and I had more time, I thought I would make it into a picture book – and much to my amazement, here it still is 50 years later.’
The Tiger Who Came to Tea exhibition will run daily until Sunday 3 March, from 11am until 3.30pm (last entry to the house at 3pm). www.nationaltrust.org.uk/blickling-estate

He loves planes, helicopters, diggers and ‘nee-naws’ – any vehicle with a siren. This amazing little boy was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma in January 2018, turning his family’s world upside down.

But neuroblastoma is a particularly aggressive childhood cancer, almost 50% of children diagnosed will relapse at some point, and when that happens, less than one in ten survive.
So Harry’s parents, Carly and Ali, are appealing for your support. They need to raise £239,000 by the end of April to access a vaccine in New York that’s showing promising signs in reducing the chances of relapse, giving Harry the best chance at living cancer-free.
There are many ways you can help Harry - by making a personal donation, holding a fundraising event, getting sponsored to take on a challenge or simply by following and sharing Harry’s story through his Facebook page. You can also make a donation via his Just Giving page https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/harrydeeba , or if you’d prefer to text donate, text HADE99 and your amount £1 – £10 to 70070. Add a little legal certainty to your New Year’s Resolutions
As we welcome in the New Year many of us will be pursuing New Year's Resolutions; the perfect opportunity to accomplish a personal goal or carry out lifestyle adjustments to change your life for the better. In reality, New Year’s Resolutions are usually broken within a few weeks, but there is one simple thing that can be done which can make a huge difference in the future: making a Will.
Although it is often difficult to think about the inevitable, having a Will in place is arguably one of the most important things you can do for yourself and your family. Not only can a will legally protect your partner, children and assets, it can also spell out exactly how you would like things handled after you have passed on.
It is reported that 1 in 3 people in the UK die without having a written Will in place to protect their family and assets. If you die without a Will your estate will be distributed in accordance with the Intestacy Rules. These rules are old fashioned and can lead to disappointment and injustice.
Did you know...? • If you die without a Will your husband, wife or civil partner may not automatically inherit everything; they may have to share your estate with other relatives. • If you are not married or in a civil partnership your partner is not automatically entitled to anything. • If you separate from your spouse, they will stand to receive at least a proportion of your estate if you die before your divorce is fully finalised. • Marriage or entering a civil partnership will revoke your Will.
Today, blended families are more common than ever, with a growing
number of step-families and blended families who are raising children from their previous and present marriages. Consequently, it's important to regularly review your Will to ensure it's still fit for purpose and reflects your current personal circumstances.
Writing a Will does not need to be a lengthy process, after the first appointment, initial draft Wills are usually sent out within 10 working days. Once you are happy with the Will, a further appointment is made for the Will to be signed and witnessed. It is then usual for the legal provider to hold a copy of the Will until it is needed by the family.
We encourage our clients to review their Wills every three to five years, both to ensure that their wishes are up to date but also to consider changes in the law or tax system which may have a personal impact. By way of recent example, in April 2017 the government brought in a new Inheritance Tax (IHT) allowance. This allowance is essentially available on death to anyone leaving a residential property to their children, and is excellent news for many individuals and families who will see huge tax savings as a result. However, the legislation is complex and Wills made prior to 2017 are often drafted in such a way as to prohibit or limit access to this new allowance. A simple thing such as an age contingency on a gift to children or grandchildren, i.e. for my grandchildren at the age of 18, could mean the loss of this allowance.
At Clapham & Collinge Solicitors, we offer a free Will review, with appointments available at our North Walsham and Sheringham offices. If you are considering making a Will or would like a member of our team to have a look at your current Will[s] and advise you about any changes you should consider making, Call our Client Relations Team to book an appointment by calling on 01692 660230 for our North Walsham office or 01263 823398 for our Sheringham office or emailing enquiries@clapham-collinge.co.uk

The NEW Official North Walsham Town Guide
The Official North Walsham Town Guide is the latest in a long line of guides which date back until at least the 1930s. The earliest edition we have in the archives is from 1946 with the authority of North Walsham District Council.
By the 1950s the guide was produced with the authority of the North Walsham Urban District Council and printed by Rounce & Wortley of Market Street. These earlier editions are all printed using the Letterpress and feature photos taken by North Walsham photographer R E R Ling, grandfather of Mike Ling, the original chairman of North Walsham's Archive Committee. These earlier editions are essential to anybody interested in the town's history. Each guide shows a snapshot of North Walsham frozen in time with locally famous names such as Harmer & Scott, Fuller's, Loads, Ling's, Blyth's, Oliver & Griston, Leeders, etc. Many of these names now immortalised in local street names.
By the 1970s the guide had changed from the smaller 'pocket size' edition and merged with another regular publication ‘The North Walsham Directory’ (a list of every household in the town listed by the surname of the
household's representative). The 1967 edition of the directory cost a mere two shillings and sixpence. The 1974-75 edition of the guide had been promoted to the ‘North Walsham Official
1984-1985 editions and printing had evolved to use the modern litho method. What is great to see in these eighties editions are businesses such as East Coast Plastics and M & K Richardson Sawmill who were still advertising in the last guide over 30 years later. The 1984-1985 edition had changed allegiance slightly to now be published by the North Walsham Chamber of Trade and costing 75p.
From 1993 until 2010 the responsibility went to Express Printing of North Walsham and the directory section was dropped. One more edition of the guide was published after this with Town Clerk Margaret Foster, who retired shortly after, at the helm, and printed by ECP.
Guide and Residents Directory’ and issued under the auspices of ‘North Walsham Town Council’ - no longer the ‘Urban District Council’ as all Urban District Councils were abolished in 1974 under the Local Government Act of 1972. This edition was published by Charles N. Veal & Co from Wisbech. The directory still exists in the 1980-1981 and
North Walsham Town Council are now producing a new 64 page, colour ‘Official North Walsham Town Guide’ to be distributed by late May 2019. Any advert enquires can be sent to ads@northwalshamguide.co.uk and contact details for North Walsham non-profit organisations can be submitted to copy@northwalshamguide.co.uk or by telephoning 01692 404114. Here We Go Again
Weathermen say, here we go again, with icy winds and snow again. By now we should be used to it Winter is bad weather’s conduit. All year we have sun, rain and wind, then Winter leaves our gardens ruined. We hope this year it will be kinder, and surprise us all - play a blinder! But I think that is too much to ask, for Winter must perform its task. It has to cast a sleeping spell, So everything can rest up well. Then, when Springtime comes around, it wakes the cold, sleeping ground.

Capture the beauty of Holt Country Park and be in with the chance to win a prize
North Norfolk District Council’s photography competition is in full swing with some stunning photos submitted for September to December
North Norfolk District Council (NNDC) launched its Holt Country Park photography competition in September 2018 and the response so far has been excellent. The winners so far have won prizes from a variety of local businesses as well as a place in the Holt Country Park December winning photo by Jonathan Fuhri 2020 calendar. The Green Flag award winning park is situated on the edge of the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is host to many wonderfully visual subjects from orchids in the summer to snowdrops in the winter, many varieties of butterflies who share their airspace with dragonflies and damselflies as well as goldcrests and greater spotted woodpeckers. The park has a visitor centre with toilets, a car park with disabled parking bays (available at ÂŁ2 per day) and way-marked routes suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
You don’t have to have the best equipment to win – just the photograph which the judges like the most! The photos must have been taken in the park the month immediately preceding submission. The competition will run until the end of August 2019, so there are eight more opportunities to win a prize and appear in the Holt Country Park 2020 Calendar. You can submit your images online by using #HCPPhotoComp on Twitter, posting them to the Holt Country Park Facebook page /HoltCountryPark or email them to countryside@north-norfolk.gov.uk For the full terms and conditions please visit north-norfolk.gov.uk/hcp-photo-comp-terms If you run a business and would like to offer up a prize please contact Colin at countryside@north-norfolk.gov.uk
What Lies Beneath?
Norfolk’s Great Barrier Reef is the inspiration behind a major exhibition in the county this March.
The collaboration between fused glass artist Susan Purser Hope and painter Rainie Kay opens at the Anteros Gallery in Fye Bridge Street, Norwich on 5 March and runs until 16 March. It will be officially unveiled by Anwen, Lady Hurt on 7 March and pays homage to the Cromer Shoals Chalk Bed, created when dinosaurs ruled the earth, stretching 20 miles into the North Sea, with its extraordinary and beautiful world of marine life. Lady Hurt said “I am delighted to be involved in the opening of an exhibition which raises awareness both of one of our hidden coastal treasures and also of the manmade threat to our seas.
Susan, a fused glass artist and Chair of the Contemporary Glass Society adds “Our work illustrates the fragile beauty of this ocean environment and the threat to the creatures that live within it from man-made plastic pollution.
It was a chance meeting with diver Rob Spray from Seasearch that instigated this collaboration Great Human Achievements Rainie Kay between Susan and Rainie. Rob, who led the team that discovered the reef, described it at the time as “like finding a natural Stonehenge hidden under the water. Rob will be talking about this little known marine world in a lecture at Anteros on 9 March.
Susan lives in Cromer and her glass installations feature in public and private buildings throughout the UK. Her main focus is on promoting wellbeing through community based glass workshops. She will be running a series of workshops for children and adults during the exhibition. Rainie Kay works from her studio on the coast near Cromer and is a former professional photographer. She is Chair of the North Norfolk Organisation of Visual Artists. She is a passionate conservationist and the sale of her one feature artworks will benefit locally-active groups helping the coastal environment and its creatures.

North Walsham and District Branch of Cats Protection
A recent cry for help was received from someone caring for a person who was being evicted from their present home and could only take two of their thirteen cats to their new home. None of the cats had been neutered. all were related, were 2 years old or under and were either black and white or black. It was agreed we should get the cats in two at a time although, once in care, more than two could be housed in our larger pens. The first ones to arrive were both quite thin and had heavy flea infestations. As with most cats that come into care from these situations, they were quite timid to begin with but quickly responded once they realised that they were being well fed and receiving individual care and attention. Ten of them have already left to join their new families, with one more leaving this weekend.
Before the last three could be collected by the carer he discovered that one of the remaining cats had just had kittens. Because of the flea situation we asked the carer to try and get the owner to sign the cat and kittens over immediately as the kittens were vulnerable and could possibly die. Unfortunately, they would not sign them over as suggested and sadly the little mum came into care, having lost them all. We often see adult cats that have a serious problem with fleas, which can cause anaemia, easily identified as their gums will be very pale. For kittens the problem is even more serious, as illustrated in this instance.
When cats leave us for their new homes, they go with 4 weeks free Pet Insurance. Although we cannot advise new owners about these products they may decide to stay with that company, decide to use a different one, or opt not to take out any insurance at all. We do suggest they consider how they will pay for any future treatment the cat will require and to ensure they do have sufficient money to pay the bill as we cannot offer this kind of help once the cat has left our care. Pet Insurance will usually cover for accidents, illness and any treatment needed (it will depend
on the company chosen and the level of cover obtained) but does not cover pre-existing conditions, vaccines or flea and worm treatments. However, nowadays, most vets offer special deals on the latter items. Please always make sure you have cover in some form or have money put aside for any problems that occur.
If you are interested in receiving help to neuter your cat/kitten, please ring 07880 256948 (to see if you are eligible for a voucher). This number is for vouchers only and will not be able to help with any other enquiries. The number also applies for those wishing to take advantage of our special neutering campaign.

Aside from the usual suspect of dogs, cats and rabbits we also see quite a large number of wildlife emergencies as well. As a practice we work closely with a couple of local wildlife charities who do a great deal of excellent work in the area.
Over the course of the winter we have been involved in treating barn owls, tawny owls, kestrels, guls and even a bittern, but this week we had a slightly larger patient! It came in the form of a juvenile swan that was brought to the surgery on the suspicion of having swallowed a fishing hook. Due to the volume of tourists and fishermen that the Norfolk Broads attract this is unfortunately an all too common occurrence. Once admitted to the practice the swan was anaesthetised and x-rayed, which clearly showed the treble hook lodged in its oesophagus.
The hook was then safely removed and the swan returned to the hospital for recovery. Apart from being very large and little grumpy, swans are
Animal Magic Dog Club Where there is a will there is a way
Pagan my lovely cocker spaniel is now 11 years old, he has so many things wrong with him that I was told it was unlikely he would live past 5 years old. He was a fantastic puppy, so clever and by the time he was one he was doing agility, dancing and gundog classes. Then things started to go wrong, he seemed to lose interest in everything and his temperament went down hill fast. As you can imagine many visits were made to the vets who could find nothing wrong with him and they suggested he was depressed. At this time I had decided to work in Spain for January and February so I could afford to keep paying the overheads for Animal Magic Dog Club while we were shut for the winter. So Kathy (Club Secretary) and I drove to Spain neither of us having done hardly any driving abroad! We got there safely after many adventures and booked in with the local vet who immediately diagnosed Pagan as being virtually blind due to a vitamin E deficiency. Apparently it is quite common in cockers and if he had been blood tested as a puppy his sight could have been saved by vit E supplementation. But there was no turning back the clock and to save the tiny bit of sight he had he started on a regime of vit E every day. The condition also affected the stability of his joints and his ability to process information so special joint and brain supplements joined the regime. To adapt to the new regime all our training now included sound and scent work and soon he was doing a 24 obstacle agility course and dances.
A few years passed where things seemed to be stable then all of a sudden he was so tired he couldn't put one foot in front of the other. As I have a thyroid problem I took him to the vet and said I think my dog has a thyroid problem. “Why do you think that” asked the vet? “Because he looks as tired as me” I replied! And yes he did have a thyroid problem so more tablets to add to mix and a fantastic improvement in energy and a much sweeter
also very messy in patients so it was great news when the bird recovered quickly and was able to continue its recovery at the wildlife sanctuary before being returned to the Broads!
This incident happened only a few weeks after we had removed a single large fishing hook from the stomach of one of our canine patients. Fortunately, that patient also made a full recovery, but it is a lesson to all the fishermen out there the importance of taking care with fish hooks as the consequences to wildlife and pets can be very serious.
Until next time, Happy New Year from everyone at the vets! Toby Morrell MRCVS, Westover Vets temperament. But in all of this Pagan has stoically soldiered on and thoroughly enjoyed life, always demanding meals on time and always loving new adventures. But as ever just when you think all is OK he lost his hearing. We had a few weeks where the world tilted but by changing his training to include touch and telepathy we are up and running again.
So here we are in Spain where we still train in the winter. Pagan can negotiate and enjoy most things but finds too much road work will make him go lame. So Aunty Kathy (Club Secretary) to the rescue by lending us a doggy pushchair which means we can go for miles off lead on the soft and in the buggy on the hard. So no matter what life throws at you and your dog, always remember where there is a will there is a way. And if you buy a cocker or poodle puppy insist on a blood test for Vitamin E deficiency as soon as possible as you could prevent your dog going blind. Best Wishes, Bronwen Bell-Batchelor, Club Manager

WALSHAM WARRIORS BADMINTON CLUB
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and are still keeping their New Year’s Resolutions intact!
The Warriors ended 2018 well with a few hardfought and close wins, with Mixed Pair Ray Green and Georgie Rodwell also winning the Wensum Charity Tournament. However, it has been a rough start to 2019, with all our best wishes going to Georgie, having severed her Anterior Cruciate Ligament in a skiing accident, which will see her struggling through physio for around 12 months before she is likely to set foot on a badminton court again. She is a huge loss to both our Ladies and Mixed Teams and will be sorely missed!
Our Men’s 1st Team are still riding high, having lost only one match this season and are holding 2nd position in the league, right behind
the leaders PSC and firmly ahead of 3rd place. The 1st Team only need one more win to secure promotion to Division 3 next season!
The Warriors’ Men’s 2nd Team are improving all the time, having won their first ever league match. They are bottom of the league, but only on games won/lost and it is so close that if they can get another win, they will rise to mid-table!
Our Mixed Team and Ladies Team are still finding their feet, being up against very experienced players and pairs who have played together for years. It has also been a torrid time for them in terms of injuries and availability clashes, yet still the Mixed Team have won matches and the Ladies have come incredibly close.
We are improving all the time and working
together as a club creates a fantastic atmosphere. We have new members joining us and every match provides new challenges. I could not be more proud of the Warriors, each and every member is important and respected.
Remember, we have 2 x Men’s Teams, 1 x Mixed Team and 1 x Ladies’ Team, so if you fancy earning a place in a Team, just come along to our Club night every Wednesday 8-10pm at North Walsham Sports Centre, Spenser Ave.
As always, a huge thank you to Labone Indian Restaurant for sponsoring our new kit!
Age is no handicap for 90-year-old golfer John John Titley is a walking advertisement for keeping active in later life – for the golfer who plays two or three times a week has just marked his 90th birthday.
The retired aviation electronics engineer once worked on the world’s first ever jet airliner, the De Havilland Comet, as well as space rockets.
John Titley – Mundesley’s 90-year-old golfer
And his sporting hobby is still flying high too as a regular member of the seniors section at Mundesley Golf Club in his home village.
Mr Titley joined the club in 1996 after retiring to North (photo: Richard Batson) Norfolk. His handicap is now 27.5 having been 18 at its best – but it is the exercise and friendship that is more important to him these days.
“I have always believed that if you feel fit enough you should keep playing – whether you are 50 or 90. Sometimes I still walk with an electric trolley rather than ride in a buggy, and am sometimes tired coming up the final hill on the 18th hole, but I really enjoy playing here and meeting my friends, he explained.
“I am not ready to put my feet up yet – it can be a downward spiral, added Mr Titley, who has also had treatment for oesophageal cancer and Molly Johns, who has also reached her been given the all clear. 90th birthday milestone (photo: Mundesley Golf Club) I just get on with it – and I like being active golfing, gardening and washing the car.
Club professional Ryan Pudney said “John is a great advert for playing and taking up golf in later life – not just for the activity but North Walsham Times 559 February 2nd 2019
for the social benefits it can bring.
Mr Titley’s clubmate friends have been toasting his big birthday with a bottle of whisky he left on the bar.
The Club has also celebrated the 90th birthday of long-standing women’s member and former club ladies captain Molly Johns, who also ran the Norfolk Ladies Golf Captain Society for 26 years.
She used to commute from her home in Thorpe, until ill health forced her to stop playing six months ago. But she remains an honorary member at Mundesley and is a social member at Eaton Golf Club where her son Peter is manager.

STAR PAVING SERVICES
North Walsham Table Tennis In the Second Division, ASTA's Derek Sidaway, Alf Greer and Sue Lawes (with the team name formed by the initials of the players and Derek stepping in for the injured Terry Lawes, surely a well known supermarket could be a likely sponsor!) hosted North Walsham Delta's Tony Bispham, Gudi Scham and new signing Tim Shelley at Cromer Tennis Club with Sidaway winning the opener against Shelley 11-8, 9-11, 17-15, 11-8. Another marathon set featured in the second battle which saw Greer defeat Bispham 7-11, 16-14, 11-8, 11-7. Scham was too quick for Lawes as she won in straight before Shelley levelled the match in five against Greer. Four straight set wins followed – three for Delta and Greer completing his brace against Scham. Two concluding wins in four – Bispham's win against Sidaway featuring one of the longest rallies of all time plus a doubles victory for Bispham and Scham against Sidaway and Lawes – completed Delta's 7-3 win. A busy week for Delta saw Sarah Tudhope take the place of Shelley as the team also won 10-0 at home against LCC Seals. Seaflames's Swordfish's Rex Parfitt, Shelley Betts and Nigel Brady hosted North Walsham Foxtrot's Marcelli Gabriel, Tom Wardle and Simon Porritt with Gabriel taking a maximum with
no sets lost including an 11-8, 15-13, 11-6 win against Betts who was later edged out 12-10 in the fourth by Wardle and also picked up a set against Porritt. Brady picked up a brace and joined Parfitt for a doubles where their experience beat the youth of Wardle and Gabriel in three, however Foxtrots won the match 7-3. Porritt was joined by Jim Crossley and Joe English as Foxtrots beat LCC Seals 9-1.
In the First Division, North Walsham Echoes John Chapman, Frank Weston and Phil Mole (playing up) hosted Crosscourt's Rod Goffin, John Welsh and Wren Thatcher. Full houses for Goffin and Welsh saw the visitors to a 7-3 win with Goffin winning a tight contest against Mole 11-9, 10-12, 12-10, 14-12. Mundesley B's Paul Gotts, Ben Thomson and John Stacey hosted North Walsham Cobra's Ben Lester, Andrew Weston and Richard Porritt. The visitors won all nine singles with Lester and Weston taken the distance by Gotts and Thomson respectively. There was some consolation for the hosts with a doubles win in four.
In the Premier Division, North Walsham Alpha's Robert Gabriel, Andy Beane and
The Vikings lost ground in their quest for a top two finish losing at second placed Colchester 28 -10. Urged on by well over a hundred supporters they suffered just their third defeat of the season. Whilst the hosts deserved their victory the winning margin flattered them and the Vikings were handicapped by captain Will Hodgson and Jake Duffield (pictured) leaving the field injured in the first quarter.
This result meant they had 69 points, 14 ahead of fourth placed Old Haberdashers. Above them remain Rochford with 85 and Colchester (76). The previous week they overwhelmed Ruislip at home 76 -7.
The Raiders finished third in Eastern Counties One (North). They now enter the season's second phase whereby the three geographically based leagues (North, South & West) of eight are reorganised into four merit based divisions of six. The Raiders go into the second Division alongside Norwich Medics, Ipswich 2nds, and the 3rd XVs of Bury

Shark's Steve Patterson and Steve and Matt Hudson hosted North Walsham Beta's Mark Blackburn, Stuart Hook and Phil Stone.
