RNLI at the Royal Norfolk Show helping to save lives
RNLI volunteers were at the Royal Norfolk Show. The Community Safety Team and RNLI Education spent two days in the Broads Village, working with the Broads Authority to inform visitors on how to stay safe near water and help others who find themselves in trouble in the water.
The volunteers were talking to children, parents and grandparents, informing them how to stay safe near water - sadly around 150 people drown each year and 50% of these had no intention to go into water when they left home. So the first message they got over was FLOAT FOR YOUR LIFE - if you fall into water, fight your instinct to swim until the cold water shock passes, float to live. Continued on page 4...

RNLI at the Royal Norfolk Show helping to save lives Continued from front cover...
if you fall unexpectedly into water: 1. Fight your instinct to thrash around 2. Lean back, extend your arms and legs 3. if you need to, gently move them around to help you float 4. Float until you can control your breathing 5. only then call for help or swim to safety
Photo on front cover: one RNLI Volunteers and Broads Ranger Photo above: Throw Lines in action
the practical part was education on using a throw Line: Dave is in trouble! He’s fallen in the water, he doesn’t have a life jacket or buoyancy aid on and he’s getting cold, can you help? Grab a throw line and see if you can HELP. With the help of RNLI volunteers and Broads Rangers they were shown what a throw bag is and how to get help by phoning 999 and asking for the Coastguard then how to use the throw bag and have a go. Throw Bags are at all Broads Authority moorings on the broads - a lot of people had seen them but didn’t know what they were for or how to use them. After their talk and practice throwing they were happy to use them and help save a life. People were very interested in the throw line, not only people who own boats but those who live by or near water - these people were given information on how to obtain throw lines. This puts more aids near water to save lives. Robert Mann, Community Safety Officer at Happisburgh RNLI, said “It was a very worthwhile two days. The number of people of all ages who were aware of our FLOAT campaign was very pleasing and shows the message is getting out and hopefully the number of drownings will fall. The large number of people trying the throw lines who would be happy to use them to help people in trouble, will also help save lives”. Jim Page, Education Officer at Cromer RNLI said “Being able to interact with so many people was the best way to get our message over, especially with the hot weather on its way and the likelihood of more people being near the water”. At the end of the second day the RNLI volunteers took part in the Sunset Parade in the main ring.

Town Twinning - Visit from Friesenried 13th to 18th July
Our visitors were collected from Stansted airport, in what the Europeans like to refer to as typical British conditions. As we arrived it was not too bad, but on bringing our guests out to the coach the heavens opened up in welcome. I am pleased to say that that was the last of it and the rest of the stay, weatherwise, was great. On the way to North Walsham a stopover at Bury St. Edmunds for a wander and refreshments was on the cards. In true British fashion we were a minute off our scheduled arrival at the High School Atrium but nobody noticed. Guests met hosts, some for the first time, and acquaintances made at last October’s ‘Ending of the First World War’ commemorations were rekindled which was excellent. With a seriously good looking buffet waiting to be marmalized the speeches were soon done and dusted so as to let the socialising begin. I said the spread was good - there was not enough left for my tea the next day! Well done to the members for their work. Guests and hosts then departed for their accommodation for the week. A special mention for the washer uppers, who did not finish until 10.30pm. Friday was the first day of our arranged programme and this involved a trip to the Wherry Albion combined with visits to St. Benet’s Abbey ruins. The
4
Albion Trust Volunteers did us proud by driving half the group to the Abbey while the others were shown the Wherry then of course this was reversed. The afternoon was spent having free time in Norwich, always a popular outing. Saturday was a guided tour of Castle Rising then free time in Sheringham. Several of the visitors thought that they were destined to be part of the operation to fill the sink hole there! Sunday began with both committees getting together to discuss the trip thus far and to begin early stage planning for our 2020 visit to Friesenried. I am looking forward to it already. After this it was free time with the hosts to show guests the delights of Norfolk. We had several youngsters from Germany, so a water sports session with BBQ was organized at the Mike Thurston Trust just outside North Walsham. It turned out to be great fun and was the highlight of the week for the several soggy young people. All too soon it was Monday, our last full day together. This was spent at Blickling Hall in the house and gardens. They were returned later to hosts to prepare for our farewell evening in the Community Centre, with a sit down meal and dancing to ‘The Squeegees’. The evening finished traditionally with Auld Lang Syne just before 11pm. Tuesday saw us at 8am outside the Community Centre for the coach trip back to Stansted. The group were delivered to the departure area and we heard that all went well and they were back home by 9pm. We can’t be that bad in the UK as several stayed on to visit other parts and to extend their holiday. During the visit many private dinner and get together evenings were organized, which all adds to the success of these trips. There were 29 visitors of which 7 were youngsters and 9 were here for the first time. After these events there are always thousands of people to thank - Sanders Coaches, Phil and his team, The Norfolk Wherry trust just to name a few. The rest of you know who you are, THANK YOU all. Civic tonic for hospital Friends’ funds
The town’s hospital has been given the tonic of a £4000 cash boost from the local mayor. North Walsham’s outgoing mayor Barry Hester made the town’s hospital Friends his civic charity of the year.
And after a successful series of events he has handed over £4221.02 – more than twice the £2000 target he set himself for his year of office, which ended in May.
The fund was boosted by donations and money-raising events from across the community, and Mr Hester said “a lot of people were happy to help because they want to support the hospital.”
chairman Keith Jarvis at the North Walsham War Memorial Hospital, thanking everyone who helped stage and man events.
In his previous stint as mayor in 2016 he raised £1900, split between the North Walsham Dementia Support Group and the World War One window restoration in the parish church. This time he was pleased to help the Friends with their work in providing extras for the popular community hospital.
Friends’ Chairman Keith Jarvis praised Mr Hester and those who contributed to the appeal, and said the committee was looking into a specific project for civic cash.

average temperatures, sunny spells and showers or longer spells of rain. Certainly no repeat of summer 2018 and at times the air masses will be quite volatile.
Looks like high pressure is going to continue to be limited so July to September will continue in the same vein as the previous three months, where any fine weather did not get traction and soon changed.

Thornage Hall Independent Living 30th Anniversary
The learning journey begins at birth.
As a parent, my hope is that my children will continue to progress and enjoy their learning into a place of work, enabling them to live independent lives, and follow their own path to happiness. But for those born with a learning disability, these most fundamental of expectations are dramatically restricted. For the last few months I have been working with a Norfolk based charity which has been breaking the mould in providing diverse living, working and learning opportunities for adults with a learning disability.
In June this year Thornage Hall Independent Living celebrated 30 years since it opened its doors. In that time the charity has done much to improve aspirations for those with a learning disability and for their families.
Based in the heart of North Norfolk, just a five minutes’ drive from Holt, the charity provides supported living for 27 adults, each of whom hold individual tenancies.
Support is on hand to ensure that they can live independently and that they can pursue working and learning activities of their choosing, and there is quite a choice. A further 30 adults, known as day service users, also travel to the site each week to take part in the working and learning activities.
The charity was formed following the donation of the Hall itself and a 70 acre parcel of land by the 22nd Baron of Hastings, whose second son, Justin, was born with Downs Syndrome. Justin attended a Steiner school in Hampshire and it is this philosophy which provides the cornerstone for the charity.
Rudolph Steiner was the founder of biodynamic farming and of Anthroposophy, a philosophy which holds that ‘a perfectly formed spirit and destiny belongs to each human being’. Everybody who works at Thornage Hall upholds this philosophy, ensuring every adult who lives there, or who attends the day services, are supported to
pursue their own destiny.
On 18 July the charity is holding a Support Worker recruitment open day. This is part of an ongoing commitment to ensure sufficient skilled and experienced staff are available to meet the future aspirations of its tenants and day service users.
The 30th anniversary has been marked by the opening of a new activities center and fully accessible communal space, alongside the launch of an ambitious £1m fundraising appeal to build Orchard Lodge. The new building will house four flats, all built to full accessibility standards for those living with a learning disability.
Independent Living, providing equality of opportunity into older age for those who are born with a learning disability.
Orchard Lodge will mark the next chapter in the history of Thornage Hall

North Walsham Archive Exhibition 2019 The North Walsham & District Community Archive group will, once again, be displaying a selection of old photographs from the history of our town at The Atrium over three days between Thursday 8 August and Saturday 10 August. The exhibition will be open between 10am and 4pm in The Atrium Gallery, Spenser Avenue, North Walsham.

As always, we will have facilities on site for providing a 'while you wait' service to capture any interesting additions to the Archive that visitors may be able to bring along. In the past this has been a highly successful way of growing the North Walsham Archive and the group are grateful for any contributions, as are those members of our Facebook community who cannot make it to our exhibition but can enjoy the photos online.
The new exhibition will feature prints of our recently discovered photographs collected as a result of the Archive group’s highly successful Facebook group which now boasts over 6,500 members. It really is an amazing project and also includes photos and snippets of information to add context to the model itself. The archive group are pleased to have provided all the photos as source material for Richard's project. The stand and housing of the model was made possible by the joint efforts of North Walsham's Men in Sheds, the North Walsham Heritage Centre and our archive group working together to get behind such a worthwhile project. The RAF Radar Museum has become yesterday’s news… wrapping chips!
In a novel marketing ploy, the RAF Radar museum has produced its own newspaper so that fish and chips can we wrapped up in it. In collaboration with Ken’s Fish and Chip shop in Wroxham in the Broads, the museum is providing the printed newsprint wrappers for the takeaway service.
Let us help yyou… ou…
The newspaper includes a range of museum news and carries a voucher for a £1 off admission for visitors bringing the voucher with them to the Museum.
Museum Manager, Lynn Kerslake, advised that "we have really seen an improvement in our visitor numbers by undertaking this novel way of advertising to visitors to the Broads.
Ken's Fish and Chip shop Manager, Michael, advised “We thought this was a great idea and offers our customers something a bit different and we are teaming up with a great local visitor attraction so it’s a win win for us both! The look of surprise on peoples' faces when they see their order with the outer "news print" wrapping is priceless! Customers have even come into the shop just to get a wrapper to read!”
The “newspaper” chip paper has been designed and printed by Century Printers in Stalham.
Lynn Kerslake continued "The Museum is celebrating being open for 25 years this year and a Celebration Day is being organised for September to mark the occasion. We are continually working on developing our collection, and our Tornado cockpit will soon be available for visitors to actually sit in for the first time!
The Museum is a great place to visit for a day out in Norfolk and is fun for all the family. There are over 25 exhibition rooms as well as outdoor exhibits and over 10,000 items to view.
All entry tickets are valid for 12 months as many visitors arrive not realising how much there is to see and do here, let alone sampling our home-made treats and eats from our onsite cafe, Crumbs".

Where there’s a Will there’s a War? Miranda Marshall, Director, Hayes + Storr
With the number of Wills being contested in the High Court up 25% on recent years, it is more important than ever to secure your last wishes to avoid claims upsetting your legacy plans. The surge in claims is put down to increasingly complex family relationships. The landmark 2017 judgement in Ilott v The Blue Cross overturned accepted legal thinking. In that case Melita Jackson left most of the £486,000 estate to animal charities, but her estranged daughter
Heather Ilott made a successful claim against the estate, arguing that her mother had not made reasonable provision for her.
The Supreme Court criticised the decisionmaking process of the lower Court of Appeal in the Ilott case and made some useful points. The Court of Appeal had given little weight to the testator’s clear wishes; which was wrong. While the wishes can be overridden, they are part of the circumstances of the case and must be taken into account. The Court of Appeal thought that charities have no ‘needs’ and therefore, unlike a person, they are not prejudiced if their benefit is reduced. For all Inheritance Act claimants, apart from spouse, ‘need’ is a necessary but not sufficient condition for an order. Awards are limited to maintenance (rather than a lump sum) and so, had an award by way of housing, been appropriate, the right order would be likely to have been a life interest, rather than an outright sum. Cases since Ilott, such as Thompson v Ragget [2018], show that these principles are not being consistently applied by the Courts. As ever, the decisions are specific to the facts but Orders for capital sums by non-spouses are still being made, despite all the guidance of the Supreme Court. Reasons given include such an Order allowing all parties to move on from the estate litigation with all links being severed and the estate being substantial so there was ‘enough to go round everyone’. The closeness of the relationship between the deceased and the beneficiary of the Will has been held to make
a difference.
Modern legal approaches include setting up a trust which would distribute funds in line with your wishes but could adapt to any change in circumstances instead of sticking rigidly to the Will. Communicating intentions to family members to avoid unpleasant surprises, appointing a committed and competent executor all help prevent misunderstandings when it is too late. More than ever making a Will is something that must be done with advice and careful thought. It is clear that documenting your reasons for making any testamentary dispositions likely to be unpopular needs professional input and careful documentation.

Follow our Activities North Walsham Times Issue 570 13th July 2019
Thanks from all 3266 of us to all 70,000 of you!
As you read this, be proud that during 2018 -2019, we the citizens across the 200 square miles of North Norfolk, collectively provided emergency food for well over 3000 of our fellow citizens in North Norfolk. One third of those North Norfolk citizens you fed were 1295 children and because of you those children across our region continued to get the nourishment they need during a time of crisis for their families. At this point some readers will be shaking their heads and talking about this unacceptable situation, which is that in 2019 we are seeing a rise of the need for Foodbanks. No-one will disagree with that sentiment, however for many, often complex reasons, this is the situation we find ourselves in right here, right now. And together we’re tackling that challenge head on.
Most of us take the food we eat every day for granted. Most of us don’t believe that we will ever be in a position where we can’t buy food for our families. But crises happen, often without warning, and ordinary people just like us – people who may be your friends, your neighbours, members of your own family, old school friends, other parents - find themselves in this unthinkable situation.
Financial crises come in many shapes and sizes, including, redundancy, bereavement, relationship breakdown, benefit delays, illness, low income during out-of-season periods, unplanned but essential expenditure and debts which can grow because of any of these things, to name just a few. These situations are often not anyone’s ‘fault’ and so there is little to be gained by trying to apportion blame. Instead, lets continue doing what we’ve done so far and support these people when they most need us to. Cromer and District Foodbank can only continue this work because the citizens of North Norfolk give generously of their own food, their time and their money to support our work. And it’s a little-known fact that during the last 12 months you have donated an amazing 36,500 kg of food to our warehouse in Cromer so that through us you can continue to support other North Norfolk citizens across our district during these most difficult times.
work in partnership with the Agencies who refer to us those families who are in need of our short-term help whilst they are ‘getting back on their feet’.
This is a real team effort. Together we make this essential support possible for our fellow citizens when they need it and so a heartfelt thank you for your continuing generosity.
Please visit us at www.cromerdistrict.foodbank.org.uk or email info@cromerdistrict.foodbank.org.uk
We at Cromer and District Foodbank will continue to play our part in facilitating the distribution of your donations of emergency food supplies through our 7 centres located in Aylsham (2), Cromer, Holt, North Walsham, Stalham and Sheringham with the help of our fabulous 120strong volunteer group. And we will continue to

North Walsham and District Branch of Cats Protection
We are happy to report that the four kittens mentioned last time are now well on the way to recovery. However, a further kitten has arrived from the same site and this too gave us great cause for concern. He went straight to the vets on arrival in care and also needed an antibiotic injection, medication for his eyes, plus more antibiotics, to be given by mouth. Before leaving the surgery, he had fluids injected under the skin as he was very dehydrated. He too is making good progress. We know there are another two kittens on the site and, thankfully, they are both healthy but are proving difficult to catch. A cat trap has now been put into position to hopefully catch them. These kittens were very fortunate as without medical intervention I am afraid they would not have survived.
Last time we mentioned the role of the fosterer within the branch. However, there are many more opportunities for people to become involved in the work that we do and we always welcome new volunteers. With other commitments in their lives, most people cannot offer the same level of help that is required when caring for the cats first hand. If you have a few hours to spare there are many other roles to fill and we will try to explain over the next few issues the different ways this can be achieved.
Fundraising is one area where there are many opportunities to help the cats, by raising the money to ensure they receive the very best help we can give them while in our care. We do have a lady who organises store collections and she is always happy to hear from people willing to give an hour or two when these take place. Street collections are another area where a few hours of your time would be invaluable. Helping at one of our major sales is another way to become involved and also gives you the opportunity to meet like minded people. We are always happy for volunteers to arrange and organise their own fundraising events (Craft Fairs, Car Boots, etc) and do have some goods available for these.
Another important role in the branch is ordering Cats Protection stock from our Empawrium Catalogue for major sales. This could lead to more opportunities to be involved in other areas for ordering goods, equipment, etc, but more of that next time.

It's hoglet season!
It's very busy here with nine different hoglets from different locations in just one week!
They are all around about 100 gms so very small and should still be with their mothers. They will be in my care for several weeks until they get to release weight. At this weight and with small teeth coming through they are able to lap some mashed cat food, but mornings and evenings I am syringe feeding them a little goats milk.

Make sure your dog is Mr or Ms Cool
is cooler and you will usually find their appetites return. • Always carry water with you on hot days and give your dog frequent small amounts. • Most dogs enjoy a paddle or swim and it will help them keep cool but always dry off their ears and under collars to avoid irritations.
Summer has finally arrived and the feel of the warmth and heat after the winter is just fabulous.
Out come the shorts and tee shirts but please remember that your dog doesn’t have this option and summer can bring a range of problems for our dogs including dehydration, sunburn and heatstroke, all of which can be fatal. So make sure your dog is Mr (or Ms) cool this summer and have fun.
Here’s our animal Magic top tips for a safe summer with your dog : • Don’t leave your dog in the car – even in the shade with windows open the temperature can soar turning your car into an oven. Remember - dogs die in hot cars. • Try to walk your dog in the cool of the morning or evening and if you really must walk at lunchtime choose a sheltered lane or wood. And never allow your dog to exercise excessively in hot weather. • Consider having your dog’s coat clipped for the summer, most breeds seem to really appreciate this, if you cannot bear the thought of an all over clip then opt for just a tummy clip so your dog can make contact with cool surfaces. • Provide your dog with a wet towel to lie on and/or a wet towel over their body • Your dog will enjoy a shady spot to lie in but during the hottest part of the day they might be more comfortable indoors. • If your dog goes off their food try to feed them later in the evening when it
There are loads of dog ice cream recipes on the internet but a really quick and simple one is to blend 3 bananas, 32oz of Greek yogurt and 1 cup of unsalted smooth peanut butter and put it in moulds. This will give you lots of treats for hot days - you might even enjoy one yourself!

North Walsham in Bloom is having a very hard time at the moment with a major shortage of helpers. This has mostly come about by a number of our helpers being on long term sick at present. We are so very pleased with our new beds in front of the Old Council Offices, but these are very high maintenance and we still have all our other sites to maintain. I know from the people who have stopped to admire what we are doing that there are several people who are considering helping us so PLEASE, now is the timer to contact us and join in and help to ‘Brighten Your Town’.

Beside the Seaside
Brian Hedge was the speaker at the June meeting of the North Walsham and District Probus Club. He began his presentation by playing ‘Oh I do like to be beside the seaside’ which set the tone for a most interesting talk on Cromer, small village to seaside resort.

Brian had taped his talk to accompany an amazing selection of old photographs and postcards which were projected onto a screen. He said that each presentation takes about 70 hours to prepare but from our point of view this was time well spent.
Brian took us on a journey through time from when Cromer was a resort for the wealthy, arriving at one of the many hotels in their horse drawn carriages. Among famous visitors were Queen Victoria and George the VI. Once the railway arrived the resort became more accessible but for many years only the rich and famous were allowed access to the jetty which was ultimately replaced by the pier in 1901 at a cost of ÂŁ17,000.
Brian finished his presentation with a brief history of Cromer’s very own Henry Blogg, a very familiar figure to us all.

LOCAL MP PLEDGES TO KEEP A WATCH ON OUR MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
Norfolk Police collaborates with smart location tech company
Norfolk Police is rolling out the latest smart technology to make it easier for people to share their exact location using a unique three-word address. Its decision to use what3words – available for iPhone and Android users to download for free and use without subscription charges was announced at the Royal Norfolk Show last month. This innovative technology provides people with a simple and precise way to share their location quickly and easily.
Local MP, Sir Norman Lamb, has promised to continue scrutinising mental health spending and service performance in North Norfolk, following the parliamentary launch of the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ new website ‘Mental Health Watch.’
The website brings together multiple data sources to give users a one-stop shop to track mental health services against national government targets.
Norfolk's Chief Constable Simon Bailey said "Our rural communities told us about this remarkable technology that can pinpoint a precise location. We've been working closely with what3words for a while now to see how we can bring this to Norfolk and integrate the technology into our systems for the benefit of our communities. We know it can be difficult for people living and working in the more isolated parts of Norfolk to give us their exact location, and this technology could be ground breaking in helping us to continue to better serve and support our communities. It's also another example of our commitment to the ongoing partnership between the very best in technology and modern policing. Rural policing is part of our core business and communities need a police service that is responsive, innovative and vested in providing a quality service to all.
It means users can see how their local area compares to others across 25 indicators, including spend per head on mental health services and waiting times for people needing treatment for depression, anxiety and other mental illnesses.
Dozens of parliamentarians attended the launch, including Sir Norman Lamb MP who opened the event, to hear from Professor Wendy Burn, president of the College and Jackie Doyle Price MP, Minister for Mental Health.
What3words has divided the world into a grid of 3m squares and converted complex GPS coordinates into unique three-word addresses for each square. For example ///exists.roofs.plod refers to a precise point next to a road on the Norfolk Broads.
They were shown how to use the site, how to understand the data and how they can use the information to hold government and local decision makers to account.
Sir Norman Lamb MP for North Norfolk said “For too long it has been difficult to get a true picture of how our area is doing compared to others when it comes to mental health services. The College has clearly worked hard in developing a resource that finally gives me the information I need to see where services need improving and where they are doing well. I have pledged to use Mental Health Watch to keep a close eye on the performance of mental health services in North Norfolk. This is particularly important given the serious concerns about services locally.
The system, which is available in more than 35 languages, has been integrated into Norfolk Constabulary's Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system, and will go live in the next month.
The what3words' app provides users with a unique three-word address, which when added to the CAD mapping system can pinpoint a caller or incident to a three-metre square of Norfolk. Officers can then be dispatched to the precise location.
Work is also underway to upload the what3words app on to every police device.

Over the Moon
I look out of the window to a morning frost See a man standing there as if he was lost I go to the door, say “are you ok”? He says “no, I’ve lost my way I’ve come from the moon, do you know that place? I went up by rocket and landed in space. I shouldn’t be here, I’ve lost my mate We are supposed to meet up, I’m going to be late. I’ve got to get back but I don’t know how”. I said go to the farm and hire a cow He said “will that get me back quite soon?” I said “don’t you know a cow jumped over the moon”. Russell Craske
Reepham Classic Car and Bike Festival
Kelly Clarke
This Year we Celebrate les Automobiles Français Now in its 6th year, Reepham Classic Car and Bike Festival has become one of Norfolk’s most successful and attractively located shows, with over a hundred Classic cars and motorbikes displayed in the beautiful Georgian Market Square.
MOTOR SERVICES LIMITED
01692 405495
Taking place on Sunday 29 September, between 11am and 4pm, we will be focusing on French classics to feature the glorious history of these, sometimes eccentric but always innovative, vehicles.
French manufacturers have a tradition of developing distinctive designs for mass manufacture - the Citroen 2CV and DS, Renault 16 and 5, Peugeot 404, and Simca 1000 are well loved examples. There were more exotic and rare cars too, such as models from Bugatti, Delahaye and the Facel Vega. While the French motorcycle industry never achieved the success of rivals from Germany, Britain, and Italy, it #developed the iconic Velosolex, ‘the one with the engine mounted on top of the front wheel’.
Attend as an exhibitor and join the line-up of some of the county’s finest classic cars and bikes, or as a visitor and stroll through a slice of motoring history. There will be music in the Kings Arms courtyard, and French-themed food and drink available in The Dial House and in around the Market Square. The event is free to the public and it has become one of the highlights of the year for classic car fans and local families alike.

The school summer holidays are almost upon us and we are really pleased to be able to offer some activities for children throughout the summer. Thanks to winning Tesco’s Bags of Help ap-
peal, we are able to offer these activities free of charge! The first event will be a treasure hunt around town which can be collected from the centre anytime between Wednesday 31 July and Friday 30 August. Find all the clues and you could win a small prize! The second activity will run only on Friday 9 and Friday 16 August. Drop in anytime on these two dates between 10.30am and 3pm to take part in one of two problem solving games. See if you can solve all the clues to find the name of the master thief who is trying to steal all of Aylsham’s treasures, or see if you can collect everything you need to attend Queen Victoria’s Jubilee party. Lots of fun for everyone! Finally, there is the opportunity for young writers to enter a short story competition. We are hoping to publish a book containing all the winning stories which will be available to purchase from the centre. We have selected 10 photographs from the archives as the starting point for the stories. They don’t have to be historically correct, just great stories! It is free to enter and we are happy to have multiple entries! All the photographs, details and rules can be found on www.aylshamheritage.com
Some children from Bure Valley school have already been writing stories about Queen Victoria’s Jubilee party which have been published on www.aylshamhistoryforchildren. weebly.com Well worth a visit!

Did you know that we offer some very effective, quick and no down time treatments for instant three-dimensional boost. We have a full range of services available from very gentle skin rejuvenation options, full range of laser, skin and vein care services to minimally invasive surgical procedures. This time of the year however, you just can’t beat instant results that you can get from a three-dimensional boost. These are especially great as there is no significant recovery time or a waiting period before you begin to see the results.

So if you require relatively quick results without significant recovery period, here are your options:
wrinkle relaxing injections. These can produce some very natural looking results. We see a lot of the badly done procedures out there with obvious giveaway signs. With our technique, however, these injections are pain-free and last a decent length of time too. We are an advanced user of these and can produce subtle yet effective results.
carried out under local anaesthesia and is suitable for women and men looking for a subtle facelift without going under the knife. This is a very popular quick lift procedure.
gentle pick me ups for the skin. We focus on safe practice and only use safe, approved products and treatments. You don’t have to spend a lot of money on products such as moisturisers, sun protection and vitamin A, C or E-based skin creams. If you’re not sure what is best for you come and see our trained therapists who can devise a skincare program for you.
Dermal fillers. We have moved beyond simple line and wrinkle softening which of course is very routinely done. Advanced Dermal fillers are used to give a three-dimensional boost to the face. We now know the physiological basis of how the face ages and small amount of filler placement in strategic location such as temples, under eyes, cheeks and angle of the jaw can produce some very nice, natural looking enhancements. These are advanced techniques and you need a very experienced practitioner to carry out these procedures. We have techniques and technology available to carry out these procedures in a very safe manner.
Lunchtime gentle treatments. We offer simple skin renewal treatments, which really are pleasant and enjoyable procedures such as light emitting diodes, microdermabrasion and chemical peels. We are offering 3 for 2 on this very popular treatment for skin brightening, pigmentation or acne. A saving of ÂŁ 65 Coltishall Cosmetic Clinic is your one stop shop for all your skin care needs. Voted best skincare clinic in Norfolk, Best Cosmetic surgery Clinic and UK enterprise top 50 winner, we have something for everyone. From facials to surgical facelifts. Call 01603 736487 or log on to the website www.coltishallclinic.co.uk to see our latest special offers.
skin boosters. We have seen some outstanding results with skin boosters. These hydrate the skin and help plump it up. You also see improvement in skin texture and tone. We recommend three sessions for best results. silhouette soft thread lift. Suspension threads with resorbable cones are used to create a sort of puppet-lift for the face and neck. This procedure is

Charity Football Match Match4Mark 2019
We held our latest annual charity football match in North Walsham on 8 June.
We have so far raised £460 for the Cancer Research UK and the British Heart Foundation, but we hope to surpass £500 once we've auctioned off a special painting of Norwich City player Teemu Pukki – anybody interested in bidding can keep an eye on my Twitter account (@NCFCNath94) over the coming days/weeks.
The match finished 4-1 to North Walsham over Lincoln Uni, with two goals each from Ewan Lloyd and Lee McCrory. Even though we still managed to win by 3, the game was a lot tighter and end to end this year.
It was probably the best game we've had so far!
As usual, I'd like to thank my team of players on the pitch and my team of helpers off it - it's remarkable how the enthusiasm hasn't died down whatsoever even though this is now our 4th event. Thanks to the uni guys who travel from here, there and everywhere to make it possible. Thanks to Neil and Cath Coop for the facilities and the first team pitch and thanks to Leigh Caudwell for taking some great photos.
As Dad would have been 60 next year, mum and I are going to be pulling out all the stops! Nathan (Hill)
England and Northampton Saints captain Dylan Hartley lent a hand during the Club's recent ‘Makeover Weekend’, when working parties were at Scottow continuing the work to upgrade facilities.
there have been enhancements to the woodlands, walking and jogging tracks and playground, whilst the viewing facilities for the disabled have been upgraded with a new roof and decking. Meanwhile work has begun to install a lift in the Clubhouse so enabling everyone to use the first floor social facilities. This project, which includes a meeting room, will complete an upgrade to the upstairs, an improved kitchen and extended bar having been operational since 2016. Funding comes from a RFU interest free loan, £10000 from North Norfolk District Council's Big Society Fund and a £31000 grant by the EU's Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
His visit was national recognition for the improvements the Club are making and he brought a £3000 grant from the NatWest Rugby Force programme, one of just six available nationwide.
Training for the new season has begun and is on every Tuesday & Thursday at 7pm, new players very welcome. The League season starts on 7 September when the Vikings visit Woodford, but pre-season fixtures have been arranged versus Fakenham (7 August), Crowborough (17 August) and Hertford (24 August) - all at home. First home League game is 21 September versus Chingford.
Hartley also took time out for some training with the Youth & Minis (pictured).
There is quite a transformation going on at Scottow Park. As well as improving the playing surfaces
