Sheringham Museum discovers human bone fragment in sealed envelope in forgotten First World War scrapbook kept by former town resident Doris Hewitt Local vets kindly xrayed it to prove authenticity of envelope contents. Sheringham Museum has uncovered a surprise in a forgotten piece of its collection re-discovered during an archive store move project.

Simply listed in the museum collections database as ‘newspaper scrapbooks’ it was overlooked for 25 years. The museum has since found that the ‘scrapbooks’ were in fact five volumes of newspaper cuttings and mementos spanning the full 1914 – 1918 First World War painstakingly collected by Doris Hewitt, Sister

to Cecil Hewitt a disabled photographer whose glass plate negatives came to light in January 2013 at the museum. This new discovery was donated to the museum long before the Hewitt Glass plate negatives and provides a new piece to the puzzle of this fascinating Edwardian Family who lived in the town during the early 1900s.

The scrapbooks ended up being stored in Sheringham Town Hall attic, which was being used as an overflow of the museum store which was at capacity.

Sheringham Museum discovers human bone fragment in sealed envelope in forgotten First World War scrapbook kept by former town resident Doris Hewitt

Continued from front cover... Thanks to Heritage Lottery Funding, the museum has been able to build a new dedicated archive store at the Mo Museum site in the past year and has spent the winter moving its collections from the Town Hall and its existing store, into the new state of the art archive space. Museum Manager Philip Miles said: “In 1993 the museum did not have access to a computerised database so all objects were listed in large books making it difficult to know what we actually had in the archive. Listing an object as “Newspaper Scrapbook” didn’t really make it a priority to be researched when we have 10,000 other objects in storage. Thanks to the funding received from the Heritage Lottery Fund we’ve been able to rediscover this important piece of First World War history and make sure that it is now stored in state of the art research facilities at the Museum and never forgotten again”.

As if discovering these precious items wasn’t enough excitement for the museum team, upon opening Volume Three (covering 1915 – 1916) the museum discovered a small envelope with “Piece of Bone from Lionel’s Leg, 18.10.16” written on it with a hard object within. To open the envelope to verify its contents would be damaging to the integrity of the object and destroying history – like unwrapping an egyptian mummy. When Museums like the British Museum want to x-ray a Mummy to verify contents they get to use state of the art CT scanners in hospitals. When you are a small independent charity run museum in rural North Norfolk, you turn to your local vet for help. Vet Michaela Bone at Miramar Vets on Weybourne Road Sheringham, kindly X-Rayed the envelope for us at the surgery using their state of the art X-Ray machine. The contents were verified to be bone fragments.

The museum wanted to find out more about who the mysterious “Lionel” was. Doris Hewitt had a brother, Graily, who also went to war. Museum Volunteer Jane Crossen researched the names in the scrapbook and determined that the bone fragment belonged to “Captain Lionel Ensor” of the Suffolk Regiment. He was awarded a Military Cross for bravery in the field, rescuing an injured comrade during the Battle of the Somme and getting himself shot in the legs during the process. Further research showed that Cecil Hewitt had photographed Lionel in the hospital with Doris in 1916. Lionel went on to marry his nurse Mabel, who could also be in the photographs, although we suspect he must have had a soft spot for Doris to present her with a piece of his leg bone and she thankfully went to the trouble of preserving it in her scrapbook for us to discover 100 years later.

The scrapbooks will go on display from the 1st March when the museum reopens.

MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT NORTH NORFOLK MAMMOTH QUIZ

The Macmillan Quiz was held at The Robin Hood in Sheringham on a very wet and windy evening.

However, undeterred by the weather, there were 77 brave people who took part in the quiz. With a raffle and donations, a total of £340.28 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support North Norfolk funds. It was a lovely friendly evening with the winning team scoring 83 points.

This money will be used to help support those in the area who are suffering from cancer and their families. The Committee would like to thank the owners and staff of The Robin Hood for their support and enthusiasm and also Dawn Fresh Greengrocers for their kind donation to the Raffle.

Thank you everyone!

Kelling Probus Club

Kelling Probus Club met at the Dales Hotel on 16 February.

After an excellent lunch, our guest Tim Groves spoke about the history of Sheringham, and illustrated his presentation with paintings, aquatints, lithogaphs and photographs from Sheringham Museum.

Tim has lived in Sheringham for 35 years, was senior teacher at Sheringham Primary School and was a founder member and Chairman of the Sheringham Museum Trust which was formed 27 years ago. The excellent work of the Trust has been rewarded by two grants from the Heritage Lottery Fund amounting to a total of £2.5 million, and the museum is now recognised nationally as one of the very best of its type.

The earliest images Tim exhibited were a pair of aquatints dating from about 1790. These showed the nature of the small fishing hamlet and the surrounding cliffs prior to two centuries of coastal erosion. Many of the paintings and early lithographs illustrated

the fishing and farming life of a population described at the time as made up of ‘rather wild uncouth and loud persons’ in the eighteenth and early nineteenth century. They depicted cliff-top buildings long since lost to the encroaching sea, landscapes, working practices, particularly those associated with fishing and it’s supporting trades and community life prior to later developments, most particularly the arrival of the railway, and the growth of the ‘new town’.

Tim explained that his selection of photographs represented just a small fraction of the wealth of material available to view at the museum; nevertheless they provided a fascinating insight of a rural coastal community life, from washerwomen on the beach, to ‘salvaging’ from a wreck, to the flat-bottomed colliers beached at high tide for unloading, to the baker, butchers and schoolchildren. The oil painted photographs of the fishermen Cox and Reynolds were most particularly striking.

an interest in Sheringham and its history must be well advised to visit the museum.

Kelling Probus Club welcomes interest with a view to membership from retired business and professional gentlemen and any enquiries may be directed to the secretary at athyatt99@aol.com.

WHY CHOOSE WHY CHOOSE SILVER SILVER & WARD WARD SOLICITORS SOLICITORS in in 2017? 20 17 ?

“It’s a recurrent misconception that a larger firm is better.”

I am Clare Mayell and I own Silver and Ward Solicitors in Sheringham. I am an extremely competent and experienced solicitor. I appreciate that Christmas can be a difffficult time for many people or resolutions are made to resolve issues of worry and concern, for example, making a will or Lasting Power of Attorney. As I have worked for 2 larger local firms I know what clients want and expect. My charges are significantly less than other solicitors in North Norfolk or Norwich and I provide 22 years of expertise and exceptional service. I pride myself in being one of the only solicitors who offffers a FREE FIRST APPOINTMENT, so clients can come in and obtain some initial advice and discuss costs and then make an informed decision. At a larger firm you just pay more. When a client rings or walks through the door they invariably get to speak to me as this personal and direct approach is important to my clients and I. I ensure complete confidentiality is an absolute priority. I advise new clients to “shop around” as I know that my charges are significantly less than other solicitors but I can offer the same expertise, if not better. I have and can act for clients across Norrffolk and the Country as we now have the use of Skype, emails etc. so it enables me to act for clients further afield. The reason that clients, near and far, instruct Silver and Ward is because of my expertise, exceptional service and competitive costs.

“I would say to any potential client with a legal issue or worry in 2017 to come and meet me face to face for a FREE FIRST APPOINTMENT, as you have nothing to lose but all to gain.

Home visits can be arranged or appointments outside of office hours including Saturdays. 0 1263 8 23465 or email clare@silverandward.co.uk 01263 823465

Sheringham Town Council’s Youth Trust Fund is now available

Are you an established voluntary organisation, group or association, that is working with, or providing services for the benefit of, Sheringham’s young people (aged 0-18)? Is there equipment you need to improve the service you currently provide or perhaps a project you would like to initiate?

Sheringham Town Council has a fund of just over £8,000 in their Youth Trust Fund, which has come about as a result of the closure of the Teen and Twenty Youth Club, which was held by the Community Centre Trust Fund and administered by the Management Committee of the old Community Centre some years ago.

It is now available to be distributed as grants to promote the benefit of the young residents of Sheringham. Grants can be awarded from £500 - £2000 maximum per organisation with only one application per group permitted per financial year. Funds will be allocated in 2017 and the following years until the entire fund has been utilised. The fund will then cease to exist.

THE NORTH & WEST NORFOLK SOLICITORS Case study: John and Mary By Jane Arnup – Elderly Client Services, Hayes + Storr

John and Mary are in their late 80s. John has a good occupational pension but Mary has none. They have Wills leaving everything to each other and then to their son Sam. John has suffered poor physical health and Mary is becoming ‘very forgetful’. They have supported each other and have carried on living in their home. As Mary has no pension, other than State pension, they put all their savings in her name to lessen income tax. They own their bungalow.

John suffers a fall and is admitted to hospital and, as Mary cannot cope alone, she goes into temporary residential care. When John returns home from hospital, it is too much for him to manage to look after Mary too, so she stays in the care home.

The Local Authority visit John to assess Mary’s contribution to her care costs. The house is ignored, as John is living there. Mary’s state pension and the joint bank account are taken into account but the main problem is that the savings in Mary’s sole name of £80,000 are added in too, so that Mary has to pay the full cost of care.

John is advised to see a solicitor. Her advice is as follows:

John claims for Attendance Allowance from the DWP. This is non-means-tested and non-taxable. Sheringham Independent 459

John transfers half the money from their joint account into in a new account in his sole name. He gets all his income paid into this account.

As Mary had not made a Power of Attorney, an application to the Court of Protection is made for the appointment of a Deputy for Mary, to deal with her property and financial affairs.

Attendance Allowance is also claimed for Mary and the solicitor becomes appointee for Mary’s state pension and other benefits, until the application for Mary’s Deputy is in place.

John severs the ‘joint tenancy’ of their bungalow so his half does not automatically pass to Mary, if he dies.

John makes a new Will giving everything to their son Sam, so that John’s money and assets do not pass to Mary, to be used on care fees, in the event that John dies before Mary.

Once the Deputy appointment is through, the Deputy applies to the Court of Protection for the transfer of half of the investments back to him (£40,000).

Sadly, John dies. £40,000 of savings are paid into John’s estate. The house is sold and John’s half and everything else in John’s estate passes to Sam, under John’s Will. If John hadn’t changed his Will, his whole estate would have passed to Mary and might all have been

swallowed up in Mary’s care costs.

Mary has enough to pay for her care her from her half of the house sale proceeds so she is reasonably provided for according to the law.

The moral of the story, is that John took advice just in time, particularly as to changing his Will. It would have been even better if John and Mary had both made a Lasting Power of Attorney, as this costs much less than an application to the Court of Protection, for the appointment of a Deputy. Happily, most of the family wealth was preserved for the next generation. “This article aims to supply general information, but it is not intended to constitute advice. Walk towards a cure for Parkinson’s in Norfolk

People in Norfolk are being asked to pick up the pace against Parkinson’s this year at Walk for Parkinson’s – Blickling Estate on Saturday 13 May, one of a series of walk events to be held across the UK for Parkinson’s UK during 2017.

know not everyone can walk that far, which is why our Walk for Parkinson’s at Blickling Estate with a choice of distances, is perfect for everyone.

“2017 is going to be our most ambitious year yet for the Walk for Parkinson’s series. With every pound that we raise we get closer to a cure. So please join us at Blickling Estate and help us step closer to our goal of improving the lives of every person affected by Parkinson’s.”

Walk for Parkinson’s offers the opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to get involved in a fun and active day out, while helping the charity step ever closer to a cure.

There are a range of distances around the grounds of the estate on offer to suit everyone, including a 2.5 mile and 5.5 mile walk to choose from.

The registration fee is £10 for adults and £5 for under 16s. Everyone who registers will receive a free Parkinson’s UK t-shirt, fundraising pack and at the end of the walk, a finishers medal.

Last year, 114 people took part in the walk at Blickling Estate to raise an impressive £11,000 between them, and the charity hopes to boost the fundraising total even more this year.

As well as walkers, the charity is on the look-out for volunteers to help register people at the start/finish area or to be a walk marshal at various points on the route during the day.

To find out more and to sign up to walk or volunteer visit: www.parkinsons.org.uk/ walkblicklingestate, call 0207 963 9367 or email: fundraising@parkinsons.org.uk

Mother’s Day March 26th

The charity is hoping to raise over £400,000 from the 32 events, so suggests walkers aim to raise at least £50.

Sky Sports Presenter and Champion of Walking for Parkinson’s UK Dave Clark was diagnosed with Parkinson’s himself in 2011. Dave is encouraging as many people as possible to step up at the event.

All money raised from Walk for Parkinson’s – Blickling Estate will help Parkinson’s UK’s work to provide support and information for people affected by Parkinson’s and to help find better treatments, and ultimately a cure.

He says “In 2016 I completed my own 200-mile Coast to Coast walk for Parkinson’s UK, it was tough but the sense of achievement when I crossed the finish line was fantastic. I

Young Singers Join Mikado Cast A classic comic opera is giving local youngsters the chance to hone their singing skills.

whole show. This is the first time we have had youngsters take on some of the main roles."

A handful of up-and-coming singers are joining the cast of a touring company performing The Mikado at Sheringham Little Theatre.

Katie Thompson, 19, from Knapton who is Peep-Bo and has ambitions to be a professional singer, said the experience was a bonus for her CV, and a brilliant way to be introduced to opera. She added "I knew the Three Little Maids song which seems really catchy and simple but did not realise how tricky it is with lots of harmonies." Her mother and theatre director Debbie Thompson said "We are delighted Opera Anywhere wanted to come back here, offering a great chance for young people to work with a professional company.

It gives them the chance to perform the witty words and jaunty tunes of Victorian duo Gilbert and Sullivan alongside professionals.

The company, Opera Anywhere, does educational work and visited the Sheringham venue last year to stage Pirates of Penzance. Due to its success, and quality of the youngsters who came forward, they are back with the saga set in Japan.

During a break in rehearsals Zac Green, 20, from Fakenham, who plays nobleman Pish-Tush, said "Gilbert and Sullivan are not on every young performer's radar, so this is a great opportunity."

"It is difficult material for young people to learn and it needs a lot of ability, dedication and hard work, so they are hand picked to make the most of the opportunity."

The Mikado is at Sheringham Little Theatre on Friday and Saturday March 10-11 at 7.30pm.

Revival Productions is delighted to announce that all amateur choirs based in or around Norfolk have the opportunity to enter a competition to perform live at the Great British Prom at Blickling Estate on 12 August.

The Great British Prom will see the National Symphony Orchestra, one of the leading orchestras in the country, perform a veritable feast of iconic and rousing anthems from all corners of the United Kingdom. Conducted by world-famous Anthony Inglis, the orchestra will be accompanied by globally renowned soprano Annette Wardell, Classical Brit Award-winning Welsh vocal group Only Men Aloud and a traditional Scottish pipe band. Furthermore, the concert will culminate in a spectacular firework display, choreographed to the music in the delightful outdoor setting of Blickling.

This once in a lifetime competition is open to all amateur choirs in or around Norfolk ; be they from colleges, Women’s Institutes, local communities or the emergency services. However, as this will be an evening performance all choir members must be over 18 years of age.

Entrants are simply asked to visit www.greatbritishprom.co.uk/ choir-competition, fill in the simple form and post a one minute video of them singing a song of their choice by 29 April 2017.

A shortlist of five choirs will be announced on 8 May. Anthony Inglis will have the final decision on the winning choir, taking into account the number of “likes” each member of the shortlist receives on The Great British Prom’s Facebook page. The winning choir will be announced on 14 June and will be required to attend rehearsals at Blickling on the afternoon of the concert.

In addition to singing Jerusalem during the main part of the performance with the National Symphony Orchestra, Annette Wardell and Only Men Aloud, the winning choir will also have the opportunity to perform at the start of the concert before the main programme begins. Furthermore, they will feature in the concert programme and each member of the choir will receive a complimentary ticket for a guest to witness their performance.

Anthony Inglis commented “Truly memorable live performances are those that witness a real connection between the performers and the audience. I am very much looking forward to discovering the talent of the local amateur choirs and performing with them. This competition adds an exciting dynamic to The Great British Prom, which should create a magical atmosphere and a night to remember.”

Lisa Ward, Director of Revival Productions, added “We are so pleased to be returning to Blickling, where the concert has become a permanent fixture in the local social calendar. By giving amateur choirs this once in a lifetime opportunity to perform with the National Symphony Orchestra and the other amazing artists, we want to involve the local community and add something unique to the programme.”

British Pie Week at Sheringham Town Deli

Celebrating British Pie week

Mark Wood, owner of the Town Deli in Sheringham has targeted the UK trend in ready made pies and has been stocking up on his pie range for National Pie Week this week (6-12 March).

Mark commented “Over the year we have been displaying over 30 varieties of pies - meat, fish, vegetarian and gluten free selections. Many are from award winning bakers, like the

Pieminister, Tom’s Pies, and our local Walsingham Pies.

has the pie we eat. There are now specially produced pies for the seasons of the year, like Christmas Pies, and for vegetarians, as well as those who require gluten free food. Pies are a comfort food, and now pie makers add new ingredients to enrich the variety of choices.

We try to make sure there’s a pie for every taste, special need and price. You could of course buy a pie from your local supermarket but they cannot provide such a large variety from these speciality pies makers that we are regularly stocking.

We recently helped a charity evening by supplying their individual pie tastes for each of their guests who were invited to a Pie and Mash fund-raiser supper.

Mark is trying to find the best from the producers of traditional pies and discovering some of the new speciality varieties, so he can show case the current trends in British pie making, here in North Norfolk.

The meat pie was first made in the Britain during the 12th century and has become part of our weekly diet but as tastes change, so too

‘What’s next Mark?’ we asked. “A much larger counter so we have room for even more new pie bakers as well as all the other fresh local produce we stock he replied.

CHORAL SOCIETY SHOWCASES YOUNG SOLOISTS AT Charli Andrews is currently studying Psychology PRE-EASTER CONCERT

Preparations are well underway for Sheringham and Cromer Choral Society’s next concert in Cromer Parish Church on Saturday 8 April at 7.30 pm. The performance will mark the eve of Holy Week with an evening of French reflective music by DuruflÊ and Poulenc. Conducted by David Ballard the major work will be Maurice DuruflÊ’s Requiem with organ accompaniment by Anthony Gowing.

Over recent years the choir has frequently worked closely with young singers to encourage them in their musical careers and they continue this tradition by introducing two talented young performers Charli Andrews, mezzo soprano and Simon Mulligan, baritone.

at Anglia Ruskin University. Alongside this she continues her music studies under the tutorage of Carole Tims and is currently singing with the Cambridge Philharmonic choir, most recently performing in a semi-staged version of Verdi's opera "Falstaff". Later in the year, she will be performing with the choir at both Kings College and Ely Cathedral. Before moving to Cambridge, Charli spent 11 years with the Broadland Youth Choir, the last of which she was Head Chorister.

Simon Mulligan is currently a student at Margaret Howard Theatre College in Watford, North West London, where he is studying Performance Training in Musical Theatre. He has been singing from a young age, both in Musical Theatre performances and choirs, performing a range of contemporary and classical music. During August 2016, he made his West End Debut at London’s Ambassador’s Theatre, in a production of The Secret Garden. He is currently rehearsing a production of Grand Hotel, to be performed in Valetta, Malta, in early June 2017.

Dear Margaret,

May I express the view - widely shared - that the recent hilarious performance of the black comedy The Ladykillers, at the Little Theatre by the Cromer and Sheringham Operatic and Dramatic Society, proved yet another resounding local triumph.

The acting was faultless, the staging brilliant and innovative, and costumes appropriate to the last detail. An immense amount of hard work was invested in this quite superlative entertainment, a major task chosen with complete success by its Director Peter Howell. Personally I enjoyed the play much more than the film with Sir Alec Guinness and other ‘stars’.

Many thanks and well done to all concerned, especially the Director Peter Howell! David Ashton, Sheringham

Holden MyChoice offers "Home Test Drive Service" to North Norfolk residents. Although known to many in the area for Volvo, Honda, Renault and Dacia car sales, The Norwich based Holden Group have recently launched "MyChoice" offering used cars from a variety of other manufacturers as well.

MyChoice customers not only receive main dealer levels of customer service but each car purchased comes with a minimum of 9 months MOT, 12 months warranty and will not require a service for at least 4 months or 4000 miles. In addition they also offer the next service and MOT free of charge at one of their Holden Group service centres, with collection and delivery available.

Brand Manger Simon Hawkins says; "Not everyone wants to buy one of the models offered by our franchise brands. So if it's a good quality car and offers great value for money we advertise it for sale on our website and Heigham Street forecourt. If you can't get to us, we'll even bring the car out to you!"

Once you have found a vehicle of interest at holdenmychoice.co.uk you can arrange to have the car delivered to your home or work address for viewing at your convenience. An experienced advisor (not a salesman) will bring the car out and explain all of it's features. If you're considering part exchanging your old car they can take a look at that at the same time. You can specify the length of the visit in advance and they will not stay a minute longer unless asked.

"I have lived in North Norfolk all my life and I appreciate that a lot of local people either don't have the time to drive to Norwich or wouldn't feel comfortable driving an unfamiliar car on busy roads. We want to make the whole process of buying a used car as easy as possible". For those without internet access all enquiries and bookings can also be made by telephone - 01603 954499.

North Walsham and District Branch of Cats Protection

At this time of the year, Stephanie gets lots of calls from people whose cats have gone missing and are hoping that we have taken them into care. Unfortunately, the likelihood of this happening so quickly, is very rare.

Invariably, the cats are young males that have not been neutered and have therefore disappeared in search of female cats. These cats can, and will, travel miles and, being so focused on finding a female, will have a complete disregard for their own safety. They take their lives in their paws crossing busy roads and also getting into fights with other likeminded cats, some of which may have been infected with FIV or FELV. They often lose their bearings and cannot find their way home, ending up as strays and surviving as best they can until someone realises their plight and contacts us or another similar charity. All the heartache could have been avoided if only their owners had got them neutered. Contacting us for help with this is a far better option.

One of the consequences of not getting cats neutered is the number of unwanted kittens that come into our care and, at present, we have several nice young cats that either arrived from a colony or were found living outside. Although they are used to their fosterer and her family (and all love having lots of cuddles from them) they tend to hide when strangers visit. One such cat is Birdie, who joined us from a local business site when the workers felt he was in

danger of being hurt. He is a little bossy boots with his companions and, as can be seen here, full of mischief. These young cats will all make lovely pets but need slightly more time to settle.

Natural skin rejuvenation and PRP for non-surgical hair loss treatments at the coltishall cosmetic clinic. If you are a fan of totally natural methods of treatment and not keen on botox, fillers or lasers, etc., then there is a solution to provide results using your own tissue.

How is PRP treatment carried out?

Your own blood is taken mixed with an anticoagulant solution and spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelets from the rest of the blood. These platelets are rich source of a variety of growth factors, which then stimulate your own collagen or hair follicles to grow based on what is trying to be achieved.

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a solution derived from whole blood that is enriched in the platelet fraction. Historically, PRP has been applied to wound beds to promote healing of complex wounds. Over the last decade, it has served as a valuable therapeutic tool in various specialties such as maxillofacial surgery, plastic surgery, orthopaedics and sports medicine. In recent years it has been use increasingly in addressing aesthetic medical concerns.

What it does not do?

If you are after a quick fix for example filling out lines and wrinkles PRP does not do that instantly. It improves your skin quality and collagen slowly over time. It also works on acne scars but treatments take time to show results. So this is not a quick fix. It can help thinning hair but will not grow hair on totally bald scalp either.

We have been using it for last many years when patients asked for it but remained sceptical about claims being made. Our patients who had the treatment however reported great satisfaction with it and we are excited about the recent studies that show noticeable results in treatment of hair loss. Many published studies show that patient’s experienced substantial reduction in hair loss, rate of hair loss, improved hair thickness, ease of managing/styling hair, and their hair felt coarser or heavier after the treatment.

What is Coltishall Clinic PRP advantage?

In keeping with our philosophy of only using top quality equipment and products, we isolate super PRP using the very best equipment for platelet isolation and concentration. We use a totally closed system to guarantee sterility. A lot of cheaper alternatives are messy to use and not closed systems. We use a high spec swing type centrifuge for maximum centrifugation and plasma production. Our closed system then separates and closes off plasma from other blood components. This is put through the

centrifuge a second time to generate the highest quality of platelet rich plasma for best results. So this is a two-step process for maximising results.

What methods of PRP application do you offer in the clinic?

We offer PRP either as a standalone treatment or in combination with some other treatments such as laser resurfacing or low-level laser therapy and some medication in case of hair restoration.

What is vampire facelift or Dracula therapy?

PRP has been given various names such as these because your own blood is used for regeneration process. Whilst PRP can help in facial rejuvenation we do not endorse the term facelift, as this is misleading.

Is everyone suitable?

It is only suitable for people who are in good general health without any significant medical concerns or systemic problems.

If you wish to try this promising new natural treatment for thinning hair or for improving your skin quality using your own growth factors then give us a call on 0800 0430737 or log on to the website www.coltishallclinic.co.uk

Now in its seventh year, the BMC is led by former Monteverdi Choir member, Tom Musically talented children from 8-13 Appleton, and Gresham’s own team of years are invited to take part in this teaching, support and boarding staff. The year’s Britten Music Course (BMC), week will come to an end with a fantastic hosted by Gresham’s School in Holt crescendo as the children perform Carl from Tuesday 18 to Sunday 23 July. Children joining the course will also have the opportunity to visit Aldeburgh in Suffolk to give a recital on the iconic stage in Britten’s concert hall, Snape Maltings, and to recreate some of

Britten’s music on the islands on Thorpeness Meare. Plenty of activities ranging from a pizza night to a visit to an award-winning north Norfolk beach are also offered during the fun-packed week.

For the first time, course participants will be able to make the most of Gresham’s new Britten Building, a state of the art Music School which will offer modern and comfortable practice and performance spaces, a new 140 seat auditorium and a recording studio.

Fiona Ross, BMC organiser and Gresham’s Music Administrator, said “I am delighted that Gresham’s is again able to offer this fantastic experience for young musicians to develop their talent in a wonderfully creative environment.

If you’re an aspiring young musician, want to make new friends and have lots of music-making fun, the Britten Music Course is definitely for you.”

The cost for this extraordinary week of music-making and fun is £350 which includes accommodation at Gresham’s Prep School in Holt, food, tuition and music.
