Super Support for Ellie’s Fusion Pop-Up Café
Ellie Glasgow’s Fundraising Appeal got off to a flying start on May Bank Holiday Monday when local residents, friends, family and a few visitors turned out in support of her fusion pop-up café in West Runton Church Hall. Lots of Sheringham shops donated raffle prizes and many more local folk contributed by baking, running stalls and serving the delicious home-made cakes, scones, soup, salads and savoury snacks.
The singing entertainment, by Ellie and her friend, Kezia Ball, accompanied by her uncle on guitar, was appreciated by all. It was a super day with the warmth that only a true community effort can bring. And with individual donations it added £476.67 to the Ellie 4 Africa fund.

SGT PEPPER SATURDAY
Fifty years on, Sergeant Pepper and his band of lonely hearts were remembered by the people at All Saints' Church, Beeston Regis on Sgt Pepper Saturday, 3 June.
Colourful flower arrangements inspired by Beatles' songs and their music played on the organ all added to the psychedelic atmosphere.
There was a second-hand bookstall, a sale of work by a local artist, quizzes, homemade cakes and refreshments to keep visitors happy.
To mark the 50th anniversary of the release of the iconic Sgt Pepper album in 1967, a replica of the famous record sleeve, after the style of Peter Blake, was made showing people associated with All Saints' Church (plus a few celebrities hidden among the faces).
Profits raised from the day will go towards the provision of a much needed toilet to make this lovely old Norman church a more hospitable and convenient building for the community.

Super Support for Ellie’s Fusion Pop-Up Café
Continued from front cover... Ellie said “I am overwhelmed by peoples’ generosity. Everyone entered into the spirit of the day and, I hope, had fun. The ladies from West Runton Church worked especially hard - even my postman came for a takeaway lunch! People helped in so many different ways to make the day really special and I can’t thank them enough. With the funds raised from this and other donations I am almost halfway to reaching my £4,641 target. Thank you or, as they would say in Kenya, Asante!”
This was the first fundraising activity organised by Ellie (who is 15 and lives in Beeston Regis) to raise funds for a charity expedition to Kenya that she will be undertaking with fellow Sheringham High School students in summer 2018. You’ll find her bag packing at Tesco and carbooting in Beeston in the summer.
In November, there will be a Charity Art Auction at The Belfry Arts Centre in Overstrand and a ‘Chicago’ Dance Evening in Cromer Community Centre.
A charity gig is planned for February 2018.
You can keep up-to-date with Ellie’s fundraising activities at coastarts.co.uk (who are sponsoring her campaign) and at www.facebook.com/events/1849514305074758/.

Blickling unveils new family-friendly multi-use trail The National Trust has opened a new all-weather, multi-use trail at Blickling that will give families the opportunity to get active and discover the wider parkland and abundant wildlife that calls it home.
Officially opened on 9 June, the route at Blickling offers a new 4-mile safe off-road path through the beautiful historic park and farmland. The new trail follows existing paths for all but 800m, with a new stretch completing a circular loop that avoids roads. The all-weather surface also means more people can explore the estate whatever the season. Stuart Banks, Countryside Manager at Blickling, said “With more families visiting Blickling, it’s important for us to provide a safe place for them to enjoy the wider estate. Cycling is an activity that the whole family can enjoy together and this provides an easy, safe route to get them started.
“It’s a traffic-free environment, and has an all-weather surface that’s suitable for pushchairs and buggies too, so we hope families with younger children will now find it easier to explore
the wider estate. It’s also suitable for adapted wheelchair users and we hope to have a mobility scooter available to hire in the coming months.”

Big Society Fund aids new shower at Sheringham Girlguiding HQ
From dingy cupboard to shiny shower room: The latest renovation at the Sheringham Girl guiding Headquarters has now been completed.
To have a shower at the Girl Guiding HQ on Cromer Road in Sheringham has been on the wish list of the management committee for a long time, as this would allow it to be used to its full potential, not only as a permanent meeting place for their activities and a hireable venue for the community, but also as a residential facility for sleepovers for our younger members and, with its large garden and campfire circle, as a camping site for our older members.
This wish was granted with the help of a muchappreciated grant from North Norfolk District Council’s Big Society Fund.
Following a visit to the Council Offices, a member of the headquarters committee had been told by office staff about the Big Society Fund’s support of charities and other volunteer groups. Further to this, an application for a grant was entered to the Big Society Fund and, after consideration by the panel, Sheringham Girl guiding was awarded a very generous Sheringham Independent 466
grant of £5000.
This grant allowed the work to be taken on and completed in a shorter space of time than we could ever had had hoped and now it is with sincere thanks to the Big Society Fund, that our own members can take advantage of having sleepovers and camps in our back yard.
Our shower facility news has also attracted the attention of members of Girlguiding from further afield. Therefore Sheringham Girl Guiding is now able to hire out the HQ and its grounds to, not only members of our local community as a party venue or for social group meetings, but also other Guiding districts as a residential venue, where they can come for a holiday and see for themselves what a spectacular place Sheringham is to stay and everything its local shops, businesses and attractions has to offer.
Councillor Tom FitzPatrick, Leader of North Norfolk District Council and Chairman of the Big Society Fund said “It’s great to see yet

3. Heat oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4. Line the case with baking beans, bake blind for 20 mins, then remove the beans and continue to cook for a further 20 mins until the base is light golden brown colour. Remove from oven and reduce the temperature to 140C/120C fan/gas 1. 4. Bring the cream, milk, vanilla pod. Beat the egg yolks with the sugar until pale, then pour the hot milk and cream over, beating as you go. Strain custard into a jug, allow to settle for a few mins, then skim off any froth.
1. To make the pastry, rub the butter into the flour with the lemon zest until it resembles breadcrumbs. Add the sugar, egg and milk and bring together to form a dough. This can be made a couple of days in advance. 2. On a lightly floured surface, roll the pastry out and use it to line a 20cm tart tin, leave 2cm of pastry hanging over the edge. Rest the pastry in the fridge for 30 mins

5. Carefully pour the custard into the tart case, grate some nutmeg over the top and bake for 40 mins or until just set with the very slightest wobble in the middle. Remove from the oven, trim the pastry edges off (away from the filling), then leave to cool. If putting the tart in the fridge allow to cool completely before hand as it could cause the tart to crack/split.

Sandi the Starfish was launched in 2014 - with a seafront flag for families to use as a meeting point if they are separated and special Sandi the Starfish wristbands with space to write a parent's mobile number.
Sergeant Tom Stead explained that losing a child, even momentarily, can be a terrifying experience for the whole family.

"The idea of having a flag with a recognisable character as a meeting point for families if one of them gets lost came from PCSO Sandi Greenacre, who was a member of the Hunstanton team before she sadly died in 2013. Sandi saw how distressing losing a child can be – both for the parents and the child. She was keen to develop ways to help families reunite and advice for parents on what to do if they lose their little one.

When visiting the Norfolk coast this summer, keep an eye out for Sandi in Hunstanton, Wells, Sheringham, Cromer, Great Yarmouth and Gorleston. Wristbands are available from a variety of locations within each seaside resort.
Helpful tips for families planning a trip to the beach include:
• Designate a meeting spot and make sure the whole family know to go there to wait there if you are separated.
• A Sandi the Starfish flag is located on the sea front and is designed to be seen by children from a distance. Show your child the picture of Sandi so they know what to look for.

Our Meetings are now almost at an end and the main event for July is of course the Church Flower Festival which takes place from 6 to 9 July.
We need members to help on our stall - please contact Anne Barker on 01263 824887 to put your names on the rota.
This is such an amazing event involving so many people and, even if you can only spare a short time to help, the Committee will be very grateful.

Tesco Sheringham and About With Friends
RNLI Mayday Fundraising
I would like to thank all my family and friends who helped with the RNLI Mayday Fundraising – I couldn’t have done it without you.
Two members of About With Friends, Emily Voutt and Tony Edwards, have been coming into store each Wednesday for work experience.
They have worked alongside Tesco Colleagues filling shelves, assisting customers, checkouts, baskets, trolleys and generally being part of the Tesco team.
They are the first to join us from About With Friends and have been a shining example of what can be achieved. Both Tesco’s and About With Friends are very proud of them.
12
Well done Emily and Tony!
A special thanks also to our wonderful Sheringham tradespeople who gave so generously towards the tombola stall which raised a magnificent £196.35.
Total raised throughout May was £505.53.
My thanks once again

Ever thought about gardening with seaweed? By Beckie Grimmer from Norfolk Landscape Gardeners Seaweed fertilisers are deceptively named as they are not true fertilisers; their nutrient content is not standardised. You can purchase dried or liquid seaweed fertilisers from local garden centres, or if you are lucky (and check with your local council/ beach owner) you might have access to fresh seaweed. Here are some possible pros and cons for you to weigh up if you want to consider bringing some seaweedy goodness into your soil: - Alginates in seaweed help to bind the soil together, and it contains a wide range of soil nutrients, including lots of trace elements.
the salt content then rinse it before use, and a good watering or rain on the ground will quickly wash out any remaining salt.
- All products have different nutrient concentrations dependent on how they were processed, so be sure to read the packaging thoroughly. Even then, however, nutrient levels are not guaranteed. - If you have access to fresh seaweed it can be dug in to flower beds without prior decomposition or used as a mulch to suppress weeds and retain water. - Seaweed products are a great source of nutrients for organic gardeners.
- Calcified seaweed can be used as an alternative to lime to increase the alkalinity of your soil, although this is often more expensive and it’s advisable to look at the source of the product to check it is sustainably obtained.
- There is a potential for high salt content in fresh seaweed which won’t be good for your plants, although this should not be a problem with commercial products. If you’re concerned about M CO RE

St Andrew’s Methodist Church Flower Festival Flower arrangers from towns and villages all over North Norfolk are busily planning for arguably the district’s premier flower festival which takes place at St Andrew’s Methodist Church, Cromer Road, Sheringham from Thursday 6 July to Sunday 9 July.
(arts and crafts) on the Saturday of the festival.
Catering forms a major part of the Festival with light lunches, cream teas and an extensive choice of cakes on offer.
The annual festival, which has Last year’s Festival been run for over 40 years, is a major event for both the church and the town and regularly attracts around 3000 visitors with several coach parties and many planning their holidays around the festival dates.
Each year the flower arrangers design their floral displays to a specific theme with exceptional attention to detail and creativity. Last year’s theme was “I Am” and this year’s theme is “Music in Bloom”.
‘I am a Fisherman’ from last year’s Festival
Over 25 arrangements will depict this theme with titles such as Swan Lake, Mary Poppins and Country & Western Music. Throughout the Festival background music, played mainly by organists, add to the ambiance of the event.
In addition to being amazed by the floral arrangements, visitors will be able to browse the many stalls offering a superb variety of plants, jigsaws, books, arts & crafts, souvenirs and gifts, jewellery, stained glass art, Christian books, Traidcraft, quality bric-a-brac, a raffle, quality cards and various quizzes. Children’s quiz sheets based on the festival will be available throughout and there will be a children’s activity table

Overall a visit to St Andrew`s Flower Festival is a thoroughly enjoyable way to pass a few hours.
Entry to the festival is free but donations are gratefully accepted. Proceeds from the ‘I am the Bread of Life’ from festival go to church funds but each year last year’s Festival a sizeable donation is given to a local charity. Last year £1000 was donated to EACH (Quidenham Children’s Hospice) and this year Sheringham Age Concern will be the beneficiary.
The festival will be open from 10am to 5pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 12noon to 5pm on Sunday. The Festival finishes with a Festival Praise service at 5.30pm on the Sunday. The church is wheelchair friendly and has disabled toilet facilities.
Further details of this year`s and historical festivals, where to find us plus much more information can be found on our web site www.sheringhammethodist.org.uk
We look forward to extending a warm welcome to visitors to our festival.

Case Study: Making a Lasting Power of Attorney after a Diagnosis of Dementia Before Michael signs the document he would
If you've been diagnosed with dementia, it's a really good idea to make a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) and Will as soon as possible. To highlight the process, we have provided a real life example where an LPA is made following an early diagnosis of dementia to protect a family’s interests and wishes.
Case Study – Michael Michael has recently been diagnosed with dementia. Although he often shows signs of confusion and can be forgetful, his diagnosis is at the initial stage of and is mainly unrecognisable. Michael’s daughter Emily is concerned as Michael does not have an Lasting Power of Attorney in place so no one is able to look after his finances when he is no longer able to.
What can they do? A person who has been diagnosed with dementia is still able to make a Lasting Power of Attorney provided that they have capacity. The two-tier test for capacity was set out in section 2(1) of the Mental Capacity Act 2005:-
• Does the person have an impairment of, or a disturbance in the functioning of, the mind or brain?
• Does the impairment or disturbance mean that the person is unable to make the specific decision at that time that it needs to be made?
Although dementia amounts to the impairment of the brain, if Michael is able to understand the decision to have a Lasting Power of Attorney he can fulfil this test. For the solicitor to confirm that he has capacity they must ensure that:-
1. Michael understands the information relevant to making a Lasting Power of Attorney
2. Is able to retain this information, and
3. Is able to use and weigh up this in formation as part of the process of making the decision to make an LPA.
Seeing your Solicitor When attending the initial appointment with the solicitor Michael is able to bring Emily with him for support however when taking Michael’s instructions she will have to leave the room to ensure that they are Michael’s instructions and he is not being unduly influenced in any way. During this initial appointment the solicitor will ensure that Michael understands the responsibility that he is giving to his attorneys and when this will come into force. During the appointment the solicitor can assess whether he has capacity to instruct them to make a Lasting Power of Attorney.
If the solicitor is unsure in any way about his capacity they can appoint his GP as certificate provider on the LPA. The role of the certificate provider is to confirm that the person making the LPA understands what they are doing and signs the document to certify this.
have to read through the draft document and confirm that this is what he would like to put in place. He would then see the solicitor for another appointment where they would go through the document again with Michael ensuring that he understood it.
Once Michael has signed the LPA, the solicitor will send information to the attorneys on what their responsibilities will be and ask them to sign the LPA. If they have any queries they are then able to contact the solicitor.
Registering the document Once the document has been registered with the Office of the Public Guardian the solicitor will provide Michael with 2 certified copies of the LPA which he will be able to give to his attorneys. Emily is therefore assured that when Michael’s dementia worsens he has a Lasting Power of Attorney in place and has the certified copy to take to Michael’s bank to allow her access to his finances.
If you have been diagnosed with Dementia, you may also wish to get advice on writing your will.

WHO DUNNIT? Coast Arts writer's workshop with LYNNE TRUSS
Writers and would-be writers are invited to a day of inspiration in Beeston Regis on 3 July 10am – 4.30pm
Last year, a group of writers and would-be writers joined Lynne Truss on a writers' workshop in North Norfolk, exploring the intriguing world of pests to understand different points of view in writing.
“It was a fascinating day of writing”, said Lynne. “Not everyone sees the crow as a fiendish and well-organised enemy to mankind, but understanding the crow's motivation - and writing it convincingly – was a way of thinking about a different point of view – a fundamental need for writing fiction.”
By popular demand, Lynne Truss is back in North Norfolk at the invitation of Coast Arts for another workshop. This year's workshop is going to deal with crime writing. “The genre of crime is of course wide-ranging, from classic English puzzles and mysteries to dark Nordic psychological thrillers.” said Katrina Cole who is organising the workshop. “If understanding and writing crime fiction interests you, you'll find Lynne's insight and style fascinating and instructive.”
It is wise to try to look at your home through a buyer’s eyes; I know it sounds crazy but buyers can be put off by the strangest of things. Start by standing outside the front of your home and work from there. Those jobs you have been putting off for years are now well worth doing.
Is it best for me the owner to do the viewings or you the agent? Whilst you know your home better than anyone, we know our buyers and what you feel is the most important aspect of your property might not be the reason the viewer decided to look at your home. Often the second viewing by a prospective buyer would be the one where you, the owner, can answer those questions that the buyer raises about living in the property. How long is it going to take to sell my home? The “piece of string” conversation! It is something that can be influenced by you the owner and by us the agent. By presenting the property in the best condition possible you will give it the best chance of an early sale. As your agent, we should be passionate and enthusiastic about your home; this can only be achieved if we have first-hand knowledge of your property. When armed with this we can make sure that the buyers we are speaking to have every reason to book a viewing. 18

“During the day we'll discuss how to start the construction of a crime story before developing some of the key concepts,” Lynne, patron of Coast Arts, explained, “we'll dissect the concept of why so many crime novels start with a body found beside a canal by a spinsterish woman calling to a dog in the early morning”.
Lynne Truss has extensive experience and success as an author in so many forms of writing, as familiar on the radio as on bookshelves. This is an opportunity not to be missed and is bound to be entertaining.
Places are limited so it is recommended to book early - booking and more information: coastarts.co.uk

By George! Meet the many faces of comic genius Joyce
Her cut-glass middle-class accent patiently tried to keep order amid the chaos of nursery school. But there is more to Joyce Grenfell than the long-suffering teacher constantly telling George “don’t do that!” And a one woman show at Sheringham Little Theatre aims to highlight the acting, writing and singing talents of the comic genius who graced stage and screen during her heyday between the 1940s and 60s.
Joyce, the Victoria Wood of her day, is best known for her nursery sketches including the Nativity, with laugh out loud lines such as “Jimmy, you are my first shepherd, not a racing car you are.” She also has to deal with a cast member who is biting the school hamster and explaining why there are four kings – “we have four lovely crowns and it is a pity not to use them.” Loraine Metcalfe as Joyce Grenfell’s nursery school teacher But there will also be appearances by other characters such as frumpy Lumpy Latimer attending a girls school reunion and Photo: Matt Coomber : Shirley’s Cockney girlfriend. Joyce is played by Cromer-based actress Loraine Metcalfe, a regular at the venue’s summer drama seasons – where she has twice played Shirley Valentine - and where she also helps with youth workshops. Loraine said “I remember first seeing Joyce in a St Trinian’s movie and admire her as a writer and performer. I am not trying to impersonate Joyce, just being me doing her marvellous monologues and recreating her characters, who are based on real people which is what makes them so funny.” Theatre director Debbie Thompson said “I picked the Joyce show with Loraine in mind. It takes someone very special to do this and she has shown she can captivate an audience on her own in Shirley, so she was the perfect choice.” The show will be directed by theatre patron and eminent actor Des Barrit who directed both Loraine’s Shirley shows and is returning to steer the Joyce tribute during his spare time which he spends in Sheringham. George Don’t Do That is at Sheringham Little Theatre on Friday and Saturday 7 and 8 July at 7.30pm. For more information and tickets call the box office on 01263 822347 or visit www.sheringhamlittletheatre.com
A gaggle of songs to make you giggle They are songs to get you laughing, rather than dancing, with their mix of wit, smut and silliness.
And a selection box of some of the most popular comedy tracks of all time is being staged live at Sheringham Little Theatre. Duo Pat Abernethy and Dave Marsden will romp through some timeless classics in The Best Comedy Songs in the World Ever, Maybe on Saturday 1 July.
The actors have been working as a pair since 1979, and tour a portfolio of 14 different shows ranging from drama to music. The comedy songs idea was hatched six years ago when discussing their own favourites, and saw them boil down a long list of hundreds to a top 20. They include: • Ernie the Fastest Milkman in the West - Benny Hill • Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah - Allan Sherman • The Ballad of the Boggler's Moulie - Rambling Syd Rumpo (Kenneth Williams) • With my Little Stick of Blackpool Rock - George Formby • Does Your Chewing Gum Lose its Flavour - Lonnie Donegan Pat Abernethy (left) and Dave Marsden who are bringing comedy song gold to Sheringham Little Theatre. There are also songs by Flanders and Swann, Tom Lehrer, Noel Coward and even unlikely sources such as Lady in Red balladeer Chris de Burgh, with his Patricia The Stripper.
Pat said "We cut out hundreds, and have tried to choose the ones that we think are still funny. And with such a range if there is one someone doesn’t like there will be another one along in a moment that they do. Comedy songs were in their heydays in the music hall and got a boost on TV in the 60s and 70s with people like the Two Ronnies, but have died out a bit in recent times. The good ones have witty words, but can also be very silly and have double entendres,” he added.
People enjoyed the show because it jogged happy musical memories. The duo share the singing, with Dave on the piano, and feature some of their own songs including pastiches of Elvis Presley and the Righteous Brothers.
Tickets for the 7.30pm show are £12 through the box office on 01263 822347 or www.sheringhamlittletheatre.com

Sheringham and Cromer Choral Society and orchestra are delighted to be returning to the Auden Theatre, Holt for their Summer Gala Concert on Saturday 15 July at 7.30 pm.
Prior to the concert the audience are invited to picnic on the lawns between the Auden Theatre and the new Britten Building. The bar will be open from 6.30 pm.
The choir, directed by David Ballard, will perform Joseph Haydn’s lyrical oratorio The Seasons. As the title suggests this exciting work takes us on a journey through the four seasons – Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter – with lively and atmospheric music very much in the style of his earlier, and perhaps better known, oratorio The Creation. The audience will get to experience the changing scene throughout a year in mid-Europe in the early 1800s. Zaira Palumbo The work will be sung in English – as was the original performance – using the latest libretto which allows Haydn’s original wit, humour and musical genius to shine through. The choir will be joined by 3 splendid soloists: Zaira Palumbo (soprano), Lawrence Thackeray (tenor) and Tom Appleton (bass).
Ovenclean will transform your oven and put the sparkle back into your kitchen!
Lawrence Thackeray Tickets (£15 under 18’s FREE) are available now from the Auden Theatre box office telephone 01263 713444 or online at www.audentheatre.co.uk For further information please visit www.sheringhamandcromerchoral.co.uk

North Walsham and District Branch of Cats Protection
When I last spoke to our friend catching the feral cats he advised that the previous week the four that went into the cat traps had already been neutered, easily identified having been ear tipped. He had also managed to catch two more that week and was hopeful that more would be caught soon.
As most of you will be aware, after taking in cats and finding them loving new homes, one of our main aims is to promote neutering. As well as offering vouchers to people on low income and benefit, on receipt of ÂŁ5 we do still issue the fixed term voucher for other owners who need help with the cost of the operation. The vouchers are always issued direct to the vets concerned and forwarded to our Head Office for payment once the operation has taken place. Head Office then issue cheques on a monthly basis to all the vets concerned and advise us that payment will be taken from our Current Account within a set amount of time. This ensures we
HOLT NISSAN DEALERSHIP WINS COVETED GLOBAL AWARD
A YEAR of outstanding sales and customer care has earned a Holt Nissan dealership the coveted Nissan Global Award — the company’s highest worldwide award.
Crayford & Abbs, on Gypsies Lane, was one of just three UK dealerships to win the award.
It is the first time the dealership, which is known for its extensive charity work, has won the prize.
Director Kevin Abbs, who recently was invited to Buckingham Palace for the first Garden Party of the year for his charity work, received the award on behalf of the dealership from Nissan Motor GB’s Managing Director, Alex Smith, last week.
Alex said: “I’m delighted to present this Nissan Global Award 2017 to Crayford and Abbs. It’s the highest honour Nissan gives to its dealer partners around the world and recognises them for delivering a great overall performance and excellent customer service. So few dealers ever win it and so this really does go to show what a fantastic job Kevin and the team at Crayford and Abbs have been doing and they should all feel very proud of this achievement.
know how much will be taken and gives us time to transfer money if we need to do so. Our statement for May indicates that payments totalling roughly ÂŁ6,000. have been made so far this year. This amount does not include operations taking place in May and any more that are in the pipeline. We urge people to continue to contact our neutering line to find out what help is available to them.
As all charities involved in cat rescue are aware, there are already far too many unwanted cats out there, many having been neglected and not receiving the care they deserve. By ensuring there are not so many unwanted cats and kittens, we can all help more of the cats that need help because of changes in their families’ circumstances. Very often the original cats that move to industrial sites have been abandoned/neglected by their owners and, because they have not been neutered, a colony quickly forms and we are left with the problems recently experienced where our friend works.
Plans are now going ahead for the Hog Roast at Dilham, which this year will be held on Sunday 9 July. Tickets are now available and, despite inflation, the price remains the same. If you would like to join us on the day, please call the cat line or send your details via the ‘Contact Form’ on our website. There is a vegetarian option available and the dreaded Car Park Attendant will once again be in attendance (I got caught last year!).
If you are interested in receiving help to neuter your cat/kitten, please ring 07880 256948 it (to see if you are eligible for a voucher). This number is for vouchers only and will not be able to help with any other enquiries. The number also applies for those wishing to take advantage of our special neutering campaign. If you are looking for a cat or kitten (or have any other queries) please give Stephanie a call on 01692 535858. Alternatively you can visit www.northwalsham.cats.org.uk/ for a description and photographs of the cats before giving us a call on the above number to find out where any particular cat is being fostered. We are now on Facebook. You can find us under Cats Protection North Walsham.

Swan Sports
Having been one of the co-founders of the North Norfolk Harriers Athletics Club, the opportunity to invest further time with coaching under ‘England Athletics’, I have supported the introduction of ‘SwanSports’, a family initiative founded alongside my son Finlay and daughter Fiona-May.
Recognising the need for family ‘well-being’, our first family-centered activity includes the introduction of ‘family athletics’. Focusing on the fundamental of athletics, with the word ‘fun’ highlighting the ethos of the activities delivered.
For many of our activities having a level of fitness that supports some active involvement is encouraged, however the activities are
delivered in ‘blocks’ allowing the opportunity to dip in and out at your own pace. Our activities are about family growth, being together in an environment that supports wellbeing and family unity.
Activity Days for the Holiday periods have been assigned offering a full day’s activities around the fundamental of athletics for children ages 8 – 12 years of age. These days support the family, recognising the need for working parents’ childcare arrangements during the holiday seasons.
Looking further ahead, we will be excited to offer mental health support via family wellbeing groups, where families will be encouraged to explore topics around their
mental wellbeing, as well as the opportunity to participate in closed physical activity groups for those suffering with
autism and anxiety disorders; that prevents them currently interacting within the local community environment.
All our current activities can be viewed and booked via Bookwhen.com/SwanSports or alternatively follow us on ‘SwanSports’ through Facebook/Instagram. www.swansports.info We look forward to seeing you. Alison
