Technology Defining Disruptive
Proptech: What is it
Defining
Disruptive Technology Disruptive technology is the term used to describe technological advances that have the power to drastically alter the way businesses operate, the way industries work, or how consumers interact with businesses. When disruptive technologies are implemented, previous technologies and systems are often made redundant due to the superiority of the new technology.

Examples of Disruptive Technologies Recent examples of disruptive technologies include ride-sharing apps which have almost replaced traditional taxi services; e-commerce, which is rapidly becoming as popular if not more so than high street shopping; GPS systems, which have replaced
maps; and online news websites, which have taken over from traditional print news. In their time, technologies such as television, mains electricity and automobiles could also be considered as disruptive technologies.
Technologies from Start-Ups Many disruptive technologies grow not from established businesses but from start-ups. Most established businesses focus on making incremental improvements to the way they already operate.
