Welcome! Dear Cattlemen, We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you all to our annual Friesz Livestock Hereford Bull Sale Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Kist Livestock Auction, Mandan, ND. Our bulls will sell following Lodoen’s L83 Ranch production sale which starts at 1:00 pm CT. We run 50 head of predominantly Polled Hereford females. We like cattle that are easy fleshing, good disposition and great udder quality. Our cows run on native grass in season and during the winter months are fed good quality hay, lick tubs and are on a Vita Ferm mineral program. Our calves are not on creep until a few weeks prior to weaning. We implement the use of artificial insemination and embryo transfer to bring in some of the breeds top genetics. The bulls being offered have been bucket fed CHS bull challenger and free choice hay. We try to grow these bulls out so they maintain soundness and longevity. The bulls will be semen tested prior to the sale and the bulls are available for viewing at the farm prior to sale date. You are welcome to come and view the dams of these bulls and the sires. The majority of the bulls in the sale are sired by “Red Baron.” He is very consistent in siring easy calving and vigorous calves. He is long spined, smooth thru his neck and shoulder, correct on his feet and legs, throws lots of pigment, making them dark red and short in their markings. It is very rewarding when our customers let us know how satisfied they are with their offspring from the “Red Baron” sons. We really like our “Red Baron” daughters that are in production – they keep themselves in great condition, beautiful udders with small teats, and have great dispositions. “Red Baron” has crossed very well with our “CKP About Time 0924” daughters.
