FROM THE PRESIDENT
At the last staff meeting, we talked about the company survey results. One of the overwhelming topics was Culture and how this is a key ingredient to the overall satisfaction of where you work. 90% of the survey takers said Reeves Young should be voted as a ‘great place to work’. As I think back and reflect on the costumes, comradery, jokes, and relationships in that room and at this Company it makes me want to work that much harder to ensure we never lose this connection.
As our company continues to grow and reach new milestones, it is as important as ever, we remain grounded in what has always been our core strength and differentiator: our people and the relationships we build. While we grow, we must remember this culture should not be taken for granted—it should be nurtured through the connections we make, cultivated through the teams we build or are a part of, and evident in each of our relationships.
At the heart of our success is the belief that relationships drive results. Whether with our clients, our partners, or each other, the quality of our relationships determines the quality of our work. As we grow, we will focus on preserving that relationship-driven culture, one that has been foundational to who we are and who we will continue to be.
Equally important to our growth is ensuring that we all focus on the right priorities. Before we concern ourselves with what others are doing, we must first make sure we are fulfilling our own responsibilities. It’s easy to get caught up in looking at what’s happening around us—how others are performing or what tasks they’re handling—but the true mark of a high-performing team is that each individual takes complete ownership of their role.
When everyone is focused on delivering the best results in their own area, the whole organization moves forward. This doesn’t mean we work in silos or ignore collaboration, but it does mean that we hold ourselves accountable first. We should all ask ourselves: Am I doing my best? Am I handling my responsibilities with excellence and integrity? By answering “yes” to these questions, we create a culture of personal accountability that strengthens the team as a whole.
Once we ensure our own work is done to the highest standard, we are in a much better position to contribute to the success of others. But it starts with us. If each of us focuses on delivering excellence in our respective roles, the cumulative effect will be a stronger, more cohesive team that achieves outstanding results.
Remember, success is not about who’s doing what—it’s about making sure we are each contributing our best, every day. Let’s trust in ourselves and in each other, ensuring we’re all doing our part to drive Reeves Young forward.
Chad McLeodPresident
Our Work Safe, Home Safe culture has continued to grow.
That growth is due in large part to our commitment to training our employees in the hazards that exist in the work we do each day. While each employee must make the personal decision to work safely, understanding how to do that is just as important. The Safety Department has made a large push over the past few months by offering numerous safety training classes. We have had training classes in Fall Protection, Competent Person, Competent Person Excavation, Confined Space, Qualified Rigger, and Aerial Boom Lift. These classes are being taught in both English and Spanish for the benefit of all of our employees. Our Work Safe, Home Safe culture doesn’t just extend to our field staff. We recently held two First Aid/CPR/AED & BBP classes at the office. Thank you to everyone who attended these vital training courses. If you missed these classes, we will offer more soon, so keep an eye on the Training Schedule Board on Monday.com!
Like each of our Business Units, the Safety Department continues to grow. We are excited to share that Paul Hanes has joined the department with over a decade of experience in safety and will be a tremendous asset to the team.

As we near the end of the year, it’s impossible not to recognize the incredible pace of growth we’ve experienced within the Commercial Business Unit. We’ve taken on more projects, expanded our client base, and achieved significant milestones—all of which are a testament to the hard work and determination of our team. However, rapid growth doesn’t come without its challenges. We’ve encountered obstacles along the way, and things haven’t always been perfect, nor will they ever be.
What truly defines us, though, is not the absence of challenges, but our ability to adapt, pivot, and find solutions when things don’t go as planned. It’s in those moments of pressure and uncertainty that we’ve proven our resilience and capability. Your willingness to embrace change, learn from the bumps in the road, and push forward has been a key factor in our success this year.
We’re not just reacting to growth; we’re actively building a foundation for lasting success. The groundwork we’ve set this year will have a profound impact on our future. It’s through these experiences that we’re positioning ourselves to make an even greater mark on the industry. I’m proud of how we’ve handled the ups and downs, and I’m confident that this adaptability will keep us moving forward, no matter what challenges the future holds.
Thank you for your dedication and resilience in a year of both challenges and great opportunities. I am confident that the groundwork we’re laying today will lead to even greater accomplishments in the future.

HEAVY CIVIL
Topic of Interest
from the BUL | William Reeves Message
The past quarter has been a testament to Heavy Civil’s and Reeves Young’s diversity. Heavy Civil won work through the hard-bid process, negotiated process, and CMAR/Interview process. We won road work, linear-infrastructure work, a park, and a bridge at Hartsfield-Jackson airport. This kind of diversity continues to help us remain successful and to grow. The Heavy Civil Business Unit remains on track to set a new revenue record for our group. Even more exciting is the group has over $120 million in backlog already for 2025. This kind of success doesn’t happen by accident. Thank you to everyone who helps this team continue to be successful!
Friendly reminder that all of our company training classes are listed on Monday.com. The “Reeves Young Training Schedule” board has the dates for our upcoming classes. These training classes are for us to continue to improve as a company, so please find the time to attend. When possible, please attend in-person!
15TH STREET EXPANSION
Signature Project
Reeves Young was awarded the 15th Street Extension project a little over a year ago. We are extending 15th Street between Williams Street and W Peachtree Street. The most difficult part of this project is the exposed rock that must be blasted in order to get the roadway to grade. Our crews recently completed the blasting without any issues. A lot of coordination was involved in this scope. Great job to the project team for their flawless execution!
McMillan
After reviewing the Company Survey results, I was truly impressed by the emphasis our company places on both togetherness and culture. The sense of family that our employees have fostered is remarkable. We recognize the power that comes from knowing nearly 700 people are standing behind us. In moments when we feel overwhelmed or unsure of our abilities, it’s important to remember that we have the support of a strong team that won’t let us fail. Trust in your team and know that we are all here to succeed together!
Mental health is a crucial aspect of the construction industry, where the demands of the job can be intense and physically draining. To be truly productive at work, we need to ensure we’re in the right mindset. Shockingly, the construction industry’s suicide rate is four times greater than the American average — and the risk to these men and women is six times higher than dying from a job site injury. This highlights the importance of prioritizing our mental health and well-being, both on and off the job site. Stress, fatigue, and burnout don’t just impact performance; they put lives at risk. It’s essential to take care of yourself by managing stress, getting enough rest, staying connected with loved ones, and reaching out for support when needed. By maintaining a healthy balance, we can protect ourselves and each other, ensuring we deliver quality work while staying strong as individuals.
If you or a loved one is struggling with depression or thoughts of suicide, please reach out to the National Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
Si usted o un ser querido está luchando contra la depresión o tiene pensamientos de suicidio, comuníquese con la Línea Nacional de Ayuda para el Suicidio y la Crisis.

from the BUL | Matt McCormack
After winning a significant amount of work in the first half of 2024, we have focused a significant amount of attention on finding the right people to build these projects. We currently have 208 people in Water Resources. We anticipate this will have to increase by 10-20% over the next year to maintain this increase in workload.
Everyone should know about the company’s referral program. If you forgot, here it is again.
To date we have paid out over $250,000 in referral bonuses to our employees this year. I enjoy approving those bonuses because it means that we are not paying a third party recruiter and are usually getting a better employee.
The people reading the BULs Eye today are the best recruiters we have. Whether it is a Pipelayer, Laborer, Field Engineer, Intern, or Senior Project Manager, you know someone who could contribute here, and they are probably not working at a company as terrific as Reeves Young.
Topic of Interest
I frequently tell people that one of the things that I enjoy about water/ wastewater projects is that every project is different and that I am constantly learning new things. It looks like sludge dryers are about to be that new thing. In my 30+ years in the market, I have been involved in the installation of zero dryers.
In the next 12 months, Reeves Young will begin installing three of them. These will be at:
Canton WPCP
Murfeesboro WPCP
F Wayne Hill Water Resource Center
Landfills are filling up. As this happens, landfills are either not accepting sludge at their plants or charging tipping fees that are significantly higher than they have been in the past.
Transportation costs continue to increase. As fuel goes up and municipalities are having to haul further to landfills that accept sludge, the cost of transportation is becoming exorbitant.
By evaporating water, the olfactory nuisance can be reduced (it won’t stink so bad), and it can be prepared to be recycled for use as fertilizer in agriculture.
As you talk to your current clients, find out how they are handling the increasing costs of sludge treatment. It could be our next project.
PURRYSBURG WTP
Signature Project
This project will increase the capacity of existing treatment plant from 15 MGD to 30 MGD. The work includes 5 new dual media filters, new PAC contactor, new Flocculation and sedimentation basin, upgrades of existing chemical feed facility and installation of new pumps in several pump stations throughout the plant. Project is scheduled for completion in Fall 2025.

EMAIL PHISHING
Cybersecurity is an ever-evolving art of protecting networks, devices, and data of organizations and individuals from unauthorized access. In addition to malware, ransomware, and password attacks, one of the most common cybersecurity attacks is email phishing. Email phishing is the malicious attempt to trick users into divulging private information. The most common email phishing scam seen in our organization is a claim from a subcontractor, vendor, or owner with new banking information. Please call and confirm with a known person at that organization to ensure that the new banking information is legitimate. In the next few weeks, RY will be rolling out a new Cybersecurity Awareness Training Platform to provide information and training to users to identify and avoid cybersecurity threats.
See something in your email a little phishy? Don't open any links or attachments, and forward to IT@reevesyoung.com for verification.
