The South

Saturday 25 February Jayne attended The Buxton Opera House to see The South, winner of our ticket giveaway courtesy of Maria at MP Promotions. She sent the text and pictures from her night.

"Thanks for the opportunity to see The South last Saturday. Thanks to S40 for choosing my text to win two tickets to see The South.

"Beautiful may no longer be in the name of the band but Buxton Opera House as a venue made up for that - beautiful in all its decorative splendour.

"I thought the audience generally seemed somewhat older than I recalled but then I remembered that in 2002, the last time I saw Beautiful South, I was 20 years younger too!!

"The band played two sets of around 50 minutes, starting with some new songs and slower well known ones and working into a much rockier second half. They played the hits: Rotterdam, Old Red Eyes, Prettiest Eyes, A Little Time and lots more.

"A great gig but Paul Heaton and Jackie Abbott are still missed.

"Thanks for the chance to see them again. "Best Wishes Jayne."

A Little Puzzling

Last edition's cover artists Daria and Olya received a rather interesting gift from an S40 Local reader, impressed by their artwork.

Andrew from JHG Puzzles is originally from Ukraine loved the artwork so much he decided to add Daria and Olya to the list of names he's done puzzles for that include Donny Osmond and the National Trust. Andrew's fabulous puzzles are pictured, and I'll look, forward to pictures of the completed puzzles one day!
