Fancy a physical and mental workout while having fun, why not give bell ringing a try?

You'll get a great sense of achievement, make fantastic friends and have a great social life. It's the perfect challenge for an individual, family or bunch of friends.

You may be surprised that bell ringers come from different faiths and backgrounds, and young people (9+) and adults ring together as equals.

Ringing lessons are usually free or inexpensive, and modern tech can help you train.

If you start soon you could ring for the coronation. Have a taster session at a tower in the Chesterfield area near you: visit derbyda.org.uk/learn-to-ring or message via FB: BellRingingDerbyshire

The Brampton Sessions

New Musical Adventures on Chatsworth Road

Eight-piece band Jig For a Kiss will be your hosts as we launch our monthly sessions of songs, tunes and fun.

The Brampton Sessions will be on the first Wednesday of each month. "We will be serving up a new musical feast for Chesterfield," said Peter Gray, Jig For a Kiss sax man. "We want to stir up the scene, throw everything into the pot and cook up something unique and special. We’ll revelling in rich and vibrant musical traditions."

Sharon Stone, clarinettist with Jig For a Kiss said, "We’re delighted that our first guest artists at the Brampton Sessions will be local heroes Ar Faoued. They’ve been entertaining people in Chesterfield and beyond for a number of years. They’ll be delivering a lively set of their own inimitable sounds." www.facebook.com/arfaoued/

"We’ve also invited other local talented musicians to perform a few of their tunes as part of the entertainment. To finish off the evening, everyone is invited to join in the music making as we play through some well-known folk tunes."

"The evening will be warm, welcoming and inclusive. There will be foot-tapping tunes, soulful songs, conviviality, and Brampton Brewery ale. Our aim is to support both well-known and up-andcoming, local performers and provide a fantastic opportunity for them to bring their music to a wider audience. Come along and be part of this exciting new venture."
