n a market-driven economy like Malaysia, the private sectors play a very important and crucial role in steering the industrial and economic sector as whole”, expressed by YB Datuk Seri Panglima Raymond Tan in the addressed speech for Sabah Industry Exellence Award (SIEA). The ceremony highlighted the continuous efforts of Industry players especially the ones residing in the private sector for their valueadded contributions in their respective fields. In its efforts to recognize the leading achievers, awards were passed down as presented in the photo collages. At the awards ceremony, beverage
company Life Water Industries Sdn Bhd was awarded the fourth category, for annual sales between RM25 million and RM100 million, while food and textile company Kumpulan BTC Bhd won the third category for the achievement of RM10 million to RM25 million annual sales. Twinine Sdn Bhd, reigned the second category with annual sales less than RM10 million while local chocolate maker, Simply Chocolate Sdn Bhd, received the first category for annual sales less than RM5 million. Kina Roof Industries (S) Sdn Bhd won the special award with the cash RM3,000. For the four companies listed, each company received RM5,000 in cash, a certificate and a trophy.

.K.I.P. Sdn. Bhd. held its year end Staff Dinner on 14 November 2015 at Kinabalu Room, Shangrila Tanjung Aru Resort, Kota Kinabalu. The theme “Let’s Do The Denim” was well received in which some of the staff and guests went to great length to don their best and fanciest denim outfits. The event started with an opening remark from the Chief Executive Officer, Ir Melvin Disimond and followed by a speech from the Guest of Honor, Datuk Raymond Tan Shu Kiah, Deputy Chief Minister/ Minister of Industrial Development and also Chairman of K.K.I.P. Sdn. Bhd. The highlight of the evening was the singing performances from a trio group who called themselves the “Hinava”. They belted out strings of popular numbers accompanied by guitarists and a cellist . Some of the staff and guests also took the opportunity to contribute their talents through karaoke singing much to the delight of the other
guests. Some danced along with the songs and music at the dance floor. As the norm, a special tribute was also given to long serving staff who had reached the milestones of 10, 15 and 20 years of service. In addition, the Best Staff as well as the Excellent Staff Awards were also given during the event in which they were presented with awards and certificates. The lucky draw segment was received with much enthusiasm accompanied by squeals of delight interspersed with groans of disappointment when prizes such as mobile phones, electrical appliances, dining vouchers, nights stay at leading hotels and many more were snapped up. The evening ended at 11.00 pm. As a whole, the event achieved its goal which was to provide an avenue for the staff to gather socially and strengthen their ties there by ending the year on a happy note filled with happy memories.

BIMP-EAGA has shown tremendous strides within two decades in its corridor’s profiles of stimulating growth in focus areas through trade, investments and tourism. The Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Aman, extended his appraisals in the welcoming speech delivered by Datuk Raymond Tan on the State’s dinner in conjunction to 19th BIMP-EAGA Ministerial meeting on the 9th of December 2015. He reasoned that, the platform created by BIMP-EAGA
has opened an area to invest in available sectors in Sabah particularly, the Sabah Economy Development Corridor. Musa is confident that the foreign inflows of trade and investment will deliver positive impacts for the nation’s economy. He then, addressed for all respected parties of both, the government and private sectors, to champion its efforts in BIMP-EAGA in its noble vision for a developed regional economy.
