PULSE
is the result of years of inner searching, and of a poetics that has always rooted itself in a burning desire for essentiality. For a while I have been trying to perfect my ability to express myself “minimally”, leaving room for allusion and vague evocation: these pieces are the definite transposition of my emotional universe into the real world – somehow a natural, objective correlative. Of course Beauty is my final goal: but in all “mystic” voyages, the journey is more important than the destination. If the body bears the signs of the external stimuli and tensions that tend to subvert one’s inner equilibrium, in the shell I create a void, a silence; but in this void and in this silence, there is always a lot to be seen or heard. There is the fruitful force of Nature that gives life its fullness. There is humanity’s deep yearning for truth; how arduous it is to know ourselves and understand what gives us joy. There is the symbolic contact between inside and outside, heaven and earth, female and male, physical and conceptual, infinity and small things. The gesture accompanies the opening of the shell, to show the fruit of research, the attainment of a truth that was hidden. Sabine Pagliarulo

è indubbiamente il frutto maturo di una grande ricerca interiore e della mia poetica, che da sempre affonda le sue radici in un bisogno di essenzialità. Affinata la capacità di esprimermi con il “minimo”, lasciando spazio all’allusione e alla suggestione, questi pezzi sono la decisa trasposizione del mio mondo emozionale nel mondo reale, in un certo qual modo una forma di corrispettivo naturale, oggettivo. Sicuramente la Bellezza è la mia meta ma, come in ogni percorso “mistico”, ciò che più conta della meta è il viaggio. Se sul corpo visibili sono i segni degli stimoli e delle tensioni esterne che tendono a sovvertire l’equilibrio interiore, nel guscio creo il vuoto, il silenzio; un vuoto e un silenzio dove, però, c’è sempre da vedere o da sentire. C’è la forza feconda della Natura che dà pienezza alla vita. C’è l’anelito profondo dell’essere umano alla verità; e faticoso è conoscere sé stessi e capire cosa ci dà gioia. C’è il contatto simbolico tra interno ed esterno, tra cielo e terra, tra femminile e maschile, tra materiale e concettuale, tra infinito e piccole cose. Il gesto accompagna l’apertura del guscio per comunicare il frutto della ricerca, il raggiungimento di una verità prima nascosta. Sabine Pagliarulo
Sabine Pagliarulo, artista francoitaliana, nata a Roma nel 1967, ha sempre avuto una passione per le arti figurative e per tutte le sue applicazioni. Dopo la laurea in legge, matura la scelta di occuparsi esclusivamente di ceramica e più precisamente di scultura.“Mi nutro di natura. Ne riprendo purezza, sobrietà e semplicità che, combinate con le mie origini francesi e il mio interesse per l’arte orientale e la sua filosofia, mi hanno ispirato un métissage estetico che risveglia lo spirito, spingendolo a trovare armonia ed equilibrio nelle piccole cose. Ho ripreso del concetto giapponese di Wabi un universo poetico dove l’imperfezione anima il pezzo ceramico di un’intensità che è segno del percorso emozionale di cui è il frutto, coniugando la materia in tutti le sue diversità fittili alla ricerca di una estetica essenziale”. Di recente ha promosso e realizzato progetti espositivi di arte contemporanea in Roma presso i musei Pietro Canonica - Villa Borghese, Casina delle Civette Musei di Villa Torlonia, Museo delle Mura Aureliane e presso il Museo Orto Botanico. Le sue opere sono state esposte, oltre che in Italia, in Francia, Finlandia, Svizzera e si trovano attualmente presso Pragmata Gallery, Tokyo, Giappone e presso la galleria Honos Art, Roma.
Sabine Pagliarulo (Rome,1967), a French-Italian artist, has always cherished artistic creation in all possible forms. After a Bachelor Degree in Law, she has started following her own artistic path, through sculpture and particularly ceramic sculpture. Her art is nurtured by nature. She echoes its purity and simplicity. In the artist's own words, “My French roots, mixed with a deep interest for Oriental art and philosophy, have inspired an aesthetic métissage which awakens the soul and helps it find harmony in small things. I took over from Japanese Wabi the idea of a poetical universe where imperfection gives a special intensity to each single clay work, thus testifying the accomplishment of an emotional route and expressing all the fictile possibilities of the matter." Recently, she has developed several contemporary art projects, in different spaces and museums in Rome, such as the Pietro Canonica Museum in Villa Borghese, the “Casina delle Civette” in Villa Torlonia, the Mura Aureliane Museum and the museum of the Botanical Garden. Her works have been exposed in Italy, France, Finland, Switzerland and are presently on show at Pragmata Gallery, Tokyo and Honos Art, Rome.
