The Lakota depended on rabbit, elk and most importantly buffalo. Buffalo was used in every way even including using the bladder. The buffalo was their most essential animal. Since the buffalo is most important, they travel to where the buffalo goes.
They also had trade crops like corn, beans etc.. Yet they gathered seeds, berries, greens, fruits, and roots
Lakota art The Lakota have made a few different things. But the art will usually tell a story. There is a piece of art telling the story of a girl and a land of horses. The horses were loyal, helpful, and friendly. This was no ordinary story to the Lakota. It was the story of their tribe.

From buffalo skin they made moccasins.
Lakota Location The Lakota live in the Great Plains. They have dry grassland and hunt off buffalo. There location can change a lot because they follow the buffalo. They have villages with tee pee’s. They have hot mild weather in the summer and freezing cold weather in the winter.

They walked and used dogs to carry their small items. They had horses and hunted with them. They made saddles out of raw hide. The best horses are reserved for warriors. They normally walked and followed buffalo.

The Lakota tribe lived in a tee pee. which is a house made out of 12 poles and buffalo hides which they skinned with a sharp objects.

And they used tee pee’s to store food, and they lived in the teepees.
The 10th pole of the teepee was pointing towards the morning star and was pointing towards the entrance.

When the Lakota tribe had food that moved a lot they would take down the teepee’s and follow the prey.

The Lakota tribe used buffalo skin to make their cloths. They had wonderful decorations on their cloths, like beads, and paintings.

The buffalo skin kept the men and woman warm every time it was cold outside.

And the Lakota tribe also hunted deer, buffalo, rabbits, and turkeys for their skin, and for the turkeys feathers.
