The Inuit Life



Food DIET They eat fish.They eat this food because they didn't have any other food to eat.


Inuits like to eat Beluga whale,seal,fish, Crab,walrus,carib ou,moose,duck, quail,and geese.



Food


They made a fire and cooked it. They stored their food in a cooler.


Arts and Crafts


Arts and Crafts The inuit indians like to made dolls of symbols of love ones. They make all the pieces by hand. Most of the dolls are very very valuable. They made dolls at every tribe meetings for good luck. They made at least 600 dolls a year. In the 16th century they started making trade with the europeans for their art. The european traded half of their goods for art that they ‘ ed sale. They made bow and arrows were a big part of trade.


The inuit’s made bones,clay,dirt,& water into art. They add extra into art to make it look better. When they did want the art to look better they would use deer,polar bear,seal,whale,& fish skin for extra.

They move with sleds and KAYAKS. The snow helped them move from place to place. They did need snow and sleds. Because of global warming. The dogs are trained. They have to travel across snow and tce. Some of the inuits still use dog sleds but not as much as they used to do.




Shelter inuit lived in igloos in the winter months.and they also lived in tents and cabins made with drift wood during summer.and some inuits lived along the the hudson bay and still lived in such tents built their houses very small.There summer homes are shaped like a tippi.Their winter home are shaped like its round on top .Their winter homes are made out of snow and held together with ice.There summer homes are made of animal skin and held together with rocks . they used ice and water to make stay together when it was winter time.In the summertime they will use rocks to make it stay up.and they will use animal skin to make it stay warm.

Their coats have hoods. There clothing was 2 layerd because it was really cold. The childrens clothing had more deisghs and 3 built in layers. The women clothing only have 1 layer because they were aways in the house cooking for others.

Every season they would change there clothes because of the weather. Since it was the ice age they dind’t really have much summer clothes because it was mostly cold. The inuit indians had diffrent animals that supported them with clothing.
