____Binding Methods
The print process diagrams that I created was simplified to help the user take in the relevant information without confusion.
Similiar digrams for binding methods from a front view angle. This again helps create a consistant set which is clear and easy to understand.
They have been drawn at an angle to remain consistant and easier to understand.
The other diagrams have been kept similar to keep a consitant style.

____Typefaces Used
Consistant layouts throughout the range, differing in colour for each book. I used a mixture of full colour images with monotone and black and white halftones images because this fit well with my ‘overlayed’ style as well as relating to various elements of the content.
Simple layout which is also contemporary. I tried to keep the information from becoming boring so this is where the placment of type and image become key in my layout. Each layout fit well with it’s chosen scheme. I used this ‘sliced’ type that I generated to help the page headers stand out but remain contemporary. I used ‘Raisonne’ for the headers and Helvetica for the easy reading bodycopy.

___Final Mock Ups
I spent quite a lot of time developing the result of my embossing for the package and the front covers. I played around with different stocks, pressure of emboss, wetness of stock and time left under the press before settling on my final result of off-white watercolour paper which gives the feel of the packet a lot more texture. I initially lasercut peices of wood to create the makeshift embossing templates.
I mocked up both the packaging box and the booklets in black and white. This gave me a final look at what my info pack will look like. On the final mock-ups, I highlighted any last minute changes to the books which made it much easier before sending to print.

The packaging is all white with a clear embossed logo on ‘Print’ on the front. This allows the colour of the booklets to do the talking a provides a clean backdrop for this.
My books are colour co-ordinated from Red to Blue, using the colour spectrum. It also determines the order of the books. There is no print on the covers, but its embossed with the same design printed on the inside of the cover.
I created one book in the way which i would of printed them all if money hadn’t had been an issue. This has a thicker glossy cover which was easier to get a cleaner emboss in the front (see image above). It is also perfectly bound with much better satin stock for the inside leaves.
I used different coloued thread with a thick needle to create this form of hand-stitched binding for each booklet. This way, it didn’t deter away from the coloured spines when in the packaging.
