Queen Elizabeth Queen Elizabeth National Park is undoubtedly the most popular destinations in Uganda. This is mainly so because of the park’s diverse ecosystems that include wide open savannah grasslands that contrast sharply to the humid forests in the park. Such diverse ecosystems have made the park attract and retain some big game and at least about 600 bird species. The park also plays host to about ten primate species. The park sits in a sprawling location with a magnificent backdrop of the jagged mountain ranges of the Rwenzori Mountains. The biggest attraction to the Queen Elizabeth National Park is without a doubt its tree-climbing lions. The tree-climbing lions are mostly to be found in the southern sections of the park near the Ishasha area that is dotted with fig trees. The lions climb the fig trees and while away their time here.

The park is bisected by the Victoria Nile, that flows from the Lake Victoria that plunges from a height of about 45 metres through a rocky opening on the surface of the Rift Valley. The huge water volume creates a magnificent waterfall known as the Murchison Falls. These falls form the centerpiece of the park’s attraction sites. Also within the park is the Kaniyo Pabidi Forest, a forest ecosystem that hosts the black-and-white colobus and blue monkeys, olive baboons, and a habituated chimp group which can be tracked. Hippos are also found in abundance at the Paraa Hippo Point.

Rafting on the Nile The River Nile is the longest river in the world. With its headwaters emanting from the wider East African region, the Nile offers and adrenaline-pumping white water rafting. The rapids on the Nile are not only powerful, but have a higher water volume. However, there are a series of interludes that break the rapids and offer calm waters. No previous rafting experience is required to take on this exciting experience on the Nile. Bungee jumping is also available downstream. It is the only bungee jumping experience that can be hard on the Nile.
