Welcome to our spring presentations at Saffron Hall
New concerts added this spring include a return visit from sold-out group Penguin Cafe, a debut visit from rising jazz star Alfredo Rodriguez and his trio, and a new concert from Saffron Hall favourites, The Sixteen. This spring we continue to push at the boundaries of our extremely flexible hall with the addition of dance to our programme. And not just any dance, but the award-winning Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui in collaboration with Dance Consortium and Sadler’s Wells. Get ready for a passionate evening of Tango with an incredibly talented cast of dancers and Argentinean musicians. In their first concerts as our Resident Orchestra, Britten Sinfonia, showed their outstanding versatility as they performed James MacMillan’s new Stabat Mater and a Steve Reich premiere. Concerts with harpsichordist Mahan Esfahani and Thomas Adès follow as the orchestra’s outstanding musicianship continues to attract some of the world’s finest musicians. For the budding young enthusiast Britten Sinfonia also presents a new picture book concert with Ed Vere.

During the autumn, over 4,000 people have taken part in our Learning & Participation programme. Participation is a very important part of the Saffron Hall story and this spring we are introducing some special days for families. Our new family percussion and singing workshops are designed to get everyone up off the sofa, away from the dreaded screens and making music together. Whether you want to bang a drum or sing your heart out, come along and bring the whole family! Saffron Hall has been incredibly fortunate to have generous funding from the Yellow Car Charitable Trust. In addition to building the hall, the Trust has supported the hall’s artistic output since we opened our doors in November 2013. However, Yellow Car’s funding will only continue at the current level until the end of this season, and now we need your help. Ticket sales cover just 25% of Saffron Hall’s costs. If you love what we offer, then please help us to secure the future of Saffron Hall by becoming a member, or by speaking to our Development team about other ways to show your support. We really can’t do it without you.
