ABOUT ME SAGE NORVILLE

I am a young aspiring Architect/Designer, definitely seeking to pursue my goals and dreams in the field. I first personally experienced architecture as a young teenager when I started travelling and visited places and experienced an aura that was very captivating, which never left me. From the beginning of my journey in the field of Architecture/design I have learnt so much about life that if I simply did not choose this field, my entire perspective of life would be different.

HAND RENDERING CHRYSLER BUILDING

This is a render I did of the “The Crown of the well-known, Chrysler Building, a masterpiece of Art Deco architecture. This sketch shows a spire is placed above a stainless-steel cladding which is ribbed and riveted in a radiating sunburst pattern with many triangular vaulted windows, transitioning into smaller segments of the seven narrow setbacks of the facade of the terraced crown.

HAND RENDERING PLANET NIEMEYER

This is a hand render of a building that I just saw, liked and decided to sketch, it just spoke dimensions to me. This structure suitably named “Planet Niemeyer” was designed by the Famous Brazilian Architect Oscar Niemeyer.

HAND RENDERING LIL WAYNE

This is a sketch I did to show my skill applying for a graphics course. I chose this picture because I felt the body language of this artiste and that was all it took to inspired me to sketch it.

HAND RENDERING MY HAND & AN OBJECT

This is another sketch I did for a Visual Arts course the task was to make a drawing of my hand holding an object that has special meaning to me. The phone helps me to carry about my day-to-day business and helps me to connect with love ones.

CUBIC CUBE CHAIR HUMAN SCALE MODEL

The Cubic Cube Chair’s design was based from the Rubik’s Cube (a 3-D mechanical puzzle game), mainly for children, to act as an educational tool. It comprises of four separate items: the chair, two poofs and a table leg. Its made from plywood sheets, cushion, leatherette and concealed hinges. The chair’s main feature is the “Flip Feature”, option 1 is exhibited in picture 1 - Provides a seat for a parent so that they can share a novel with their child/children, while on the other hand, option 2 is shown in picture 2 - Provides a table which provides seats for two children. The third picture shows one of the many compartments the chair possesses. Page 7

CUBIC CUBE CHAIR PRESENTATION BOARD

The Presentation Board was designed to resemble a side of the Rubik’s Cube, then the challenge was to organize all the information on nine slides and that was a bit of a challenge at the time.

CUBIC CUBE CHAIR DEVELOPMENTAL SKETCHES

These are just a few of the many sketches I did, along the way to reach the final design of the Cubic Cube Chair. The picture above clearly shows the use of basic shapes, which was the initial concept. While the picture to the left, gives an idea where the inspiration for the final design came from. Page 10

LOGO DESIGN NEXT GEN GAMES LOGO

This logo was designed for a registered gaming store on the island and the goals behind the design was to produce a logo that was modern, cool and yet simple. The text for the Next Gen Games was to bring over the feeling of fun, the grey background was to give the effect of the compact N.G.G (in 3D) breaking through to the next generation as the slogan goes “Gaming For The Next Generation.

HAND-MADE MODEL MODEL OF BRIDGE The purpose of this project was to design a bridge that spans over three feet ensuring it supports three pounds without failing. The model was made with the use of 10mm dia. dowels, glue , nylon and nails.

GREEN THINKERS ENVIRONMENTAL CLUB 3-D RENDER (BIRD’S EYE VIEW)

This was my final exam project that I did at Barbados Community College of a Green Thinkers Environmental Club, the concept of the project was based on the leaf. The multi-purpose facility is a place for all to come learn and have an enjoyable time. The structure was designed to act as a leaf in a very efficient manner as everyone that enter and exits acts as nutrients to a leaf. Page 13

GREEN THINKERS ENVIRONMENTAL CLUB PRESENTATION BOARD

This is a Presentation Board for my concept the leaf, which generally highlights some of the features I incorporated into my design.

GREEN THINKERS ENVIRONMENTAL CLUB CONCEPT MODEL

This model was designed for the Green Thinkers Environmental Club, to highlight the importance of nature, in this case vegetation, showing the leaf (the concept) as a small tree. The model further depicts photosynthesis as the sun’s rays shed on the earth and the presence of vegetation in the three areas which cover the earth’s surface: sand, sea/lakes and land.

QUEEN’S PARK PRESENTATION BOARD This is a picture of a presentation board high-lighting the main features of a site analysis taken of Queen’s Park. The Park is a national landmark, located in Bridgetown – Barbados, having a lot of historical value. The board provides various types of mediums to display Queen’s Park e.g. sketches, paintings, photos and prints. Page 20

NEW DIMENSION MINISTRIES 3-D RENDER & PHOTO OF N.D.M PLATFORM

This project shows the 3-D render (the above picture) of a church platform, it was one of the very first renders I did and the beauty about this project I got the chance to take a photo of it (the picture below), in one of its construction stages. The only minor problem is similar materials were not used.
