The design seeks to be sustainable and thereby creating a space which all wil tend to love and enjoy, through its communal spaces. The scheme overall embodies togetherness with each residence embodying great spaces while connecting with the original nature of the site.

574/*(9 o'p &UUQNHFYNTS PROJECT Design a dwelling at a domestic scale which is centered on the needs of an integrational family unit, which special focus on the Elderly. CONCEPT STATEMENT In this design for Project B, the site is very a very long and slender site located in West Kingston in the areas of Southside and Tel Aviv. This development is intended to be wrapped and pierced by a collection of everyday materials transforming it into a unique and experimental home. The home wil be compatible for the elderly with the end product being a inexpensive but well designed Jamaican home. Hence my design objective is to create a structure which is: simple, vernacular and oozes modernity. OCCUPANTS The house wi l cater to 6 persons: Grandmother (wheel chair bound) & an able bodied Grandfather Mother & Father Two boys under the age of 10 years. DESIGN FACTS Space allocated for outdoor activities. = 77.66 sq. m. Floor Area of Tel Aviv Residence = 195.09 sq. m. *1,500 gal. Water Tank stored beneath Patio. SPATIAL BUBBLE DIAGRAM

KEY Noise North West Night Breezes South East Day Breezes Zero Lot Lines p 'ZNQINSL 8JYGFHP
The most noise would come from traffic along the road. The front of the site has a 10p Building setback. The other boundaries of the site are zero lot lines. STARTER CORE KEY Movement Of Wall Wall Main Circulation
In this design, the starter core is slightly offcentered which made previous efforts to layout the site and relevant spaces quite difficult. Hence my decision was to move the walls as close to the site edges and stil have the opportunity to make uses of windows for ventilation and natural light. 8&+*9> +*&9:7*8 :8*) .3 9-.8 574/*(9 o'p )*8.,3 Handrails Daylighting Ramps and Landings

REVISION The major problem with this project came from the home being too close to the lot line, which would affect the ventilation and light if the next door neighbour was to build on the lot line, as well. Hence, my revision seek to give a space of 3 ft. on one side of the structure so that in the event of a fire one can escape through the back and get to the main road.

PROJECT BRIEF
COURSE: Design Studio 7 To design a model facility for an Ageing Community which may be NAME: Sage Norvil e implemented island wide. The facility wil support independent living assisted care, covalence and hospice residential aged communities within its STUDENT I.D#: 1005124 immediate context and residential district.
SITE DIRECTORY
The inspiration behind this multi-generational facility came from the branches of a tree due to the simple fact that the project requires the allocation of a variety of space for different functions. This movement was captured in the same essence as the tree in which the tree trunk, distributes nutrients to the leaf through its branches, so the preliminary design took the form of a tree. The scheme which encompasses 1.3 acres of relatively flat land sought to create modern and simple facility with communal spaces that wil strengthen and bring to life the quiet community of the Rollington town district and wider community. The residents have their communal space which is clearly separate from its more public counterpart on Eastern side of the site. Other spaces such as the q-JFQNSL ,FWIJSr and the q-^IWT-therapy UTTQr are spaces of privacy within a public entity. A major generator for my design was the existing street that runs through the centre of the site. This feature of the site also had to cater to Bus Drop-off and turn around, so space had to be allocated to facilitate the turning around to exit the site. This turning radius created an interesting curve which manifested its way into the design. This is the first main welcoming feature of the site, drawing people into the more public side of the site. The site connects and blends into the context in a subtle manner as a pavilion at the southern end of the site looks onto the other zones where the community currently utilizes as a playing field for running, football and cricket. Furthermore, in the case of future development of the other zones Zone 1 wil definitely be a stepping stone in building the community.
