ADULT CONTINUING EDUCATION WINTER and SPRING 2021
NEW
ONLINE CLASSES
INVESTIGATE NEW IDEAS. EXCEED BOUNDARIES. The School of the Art Institute of Chicago invites you to be part of our diverse community of artists, designers, and scholars by enrolling in an Adult Continuing Education (ACE) noncredit course (or two), or one of our exciting certificate programs. As a member of our community, one defined by practice and inquiry, you will cultivate creative confidence, learning with and from your instructors and peers as you produce work based on your personal research and interests. This winter and spring, all Adult Continuing Education courses will be held online.
Distance learning doesn’t mean that you need to put your art practice on hold. Enjoy the flexibility and convenience of learning and making from wherever you are. Students from around the world and right here in Chicago are joining us for online courses taught by our acclaimed faculty.
WHAT DOES ONLINE LEARNING LOOK LIKE?
The majority of our classes are synchronous which means you’ll interact in real time with your instructors and peers during scheduled Zoom meeting sessions as well as work independently. A few classes meet in the asynchronous mode in which you can access course content and correspond with your instructor and peers at any time of day. You’ll have access to an array of resources and engaging content through SAIC’s online learning platform.

“I was concerned that I wouldn’t learn as much in the remote learning setting compared to in-person, however I was pleasantly surprised and feel that what I was able to accomplish via remote learning was very valuable. I think part of the success of remote learning was [the instructor’s] high level of organization and communication, from weekly emails to thoughtful stepby-step instructional videos. I hope that SAIC continues to offer remote Continuing Ed courses in the future.” — Spring 2020 Student
