The 50,000 sq ft of warehousing and 7,000 sq ft of office space at Nene Park has proved to be the perfect location for Salonserve. The company required much larger premises after quadrupling in size and a two year search finally identified Nene Park as the ideal location. Salonserve required a location that was capable of handling
regular deliveries of containers as well as modern office accommodation. Nene Park affords all that as well as providing amazing views of the Northamptonshire countryside across the River Nene and nature reserve. Salonserve manufactures and imports products from all over the world under its own name as well as the Zahra brand. Well known in the professional market for its quality, reasonable prices and excellent friendly service. Since moving to Nene Park, the company has opened a trade counter which enables local
salons to call in and collect goods on the day they need them. The move to Nene Park has improved the working conditions for the entire Salonserve staff, and the company has plans in hand for further expansion with a new range of bespoke hairdressing equipment soon to be launched. They are ISO9001 and ISO14001 registered. For more information on the vast Salonserve product range visit the website www.salonserve.com or call Freephone 0800 0181 171.

youth groups, hospitals, etc, they welcome anyone interested in the Centre to visit. So please call, pop in and have a look around.
Phoenix Resource Centre is an Environmental Charity (self funded by the Trustees) and has been operating since September 2009.
They received the following letter from a member which explains how they help.
Their purpose is the practice and promotion of recycling, re-use and reduction, with a difference. They collect clean usable waste (including off-cuts of material, wood, card), books, surplus stocks, end of lines and unwanted goods/returns from industry and local businesses. Nearly 100% of the resources are brand new and unused. Anything that can be re-used then gets put onto the shelves for the members (schools, etc) to take and re-use, everything else that can be, gets recycled. They also have a members discount area where educational aids and children's furniture can be purchased at very advantageous prices. Ideal for schools, nurseries, childminders, scouts, guides, preschools, playgroups, church groups, care homes, charities,
“On behalf of Friends of Olney Middle School, I would like to thank everyone who works so hard at the resource centre in order to ensure that quality resources are available to charitable organisations. We joined earlier this year and have made excellent use of our membership which easily paid for itself after the first visit due to the excellent fundraising pack. The school has benefitted directly from project books, card, art materials and stickers. In June, we held a big 'Fun on the Field' event where there was a giant tombola boasting many items from the resource centre such as place mats, cake tins, toys, books, dvds, trays, mixing bowls, perfume, earrings and much much more! We had a lucky dip which children of all ages seemed to enjoy and again nearly all of the prizes were from the centre. We also had a massive and very popular craft tent at the event where children (and adults)
came and made the most amazing and imaginative things. There was a long table for glass painting where the children used glass pens (our only expenditure!) to draw on large and small glass discs and made coasters. In the centre of the tent were 7 or 8 big boxes with tubes, fabric, foam, paper chains, plastic trays, boxes and a huge range of card and paper. The children couldn't believe their luck and just let their imaginations run wild! The only complaints were from parents who had to carry these creations home! The event raised over £1000 which will directly benefit the children… Thank you so much for providing this service.” Kind Regards, Friends of Olney Middle School. Paul says… “They are an amazing charity doing good local works, we are lucky to have them on site.As Nene Park is rapidly becoming the premier media location in Northants. any help given to this worthwhile and local charity will be immensely rewarding. The Phoenix web site could do with a little attention. Anyone interested? Call Andy on 01933 626000”. Web: www.phoenix-resourcecentre.org.uk.

Nene Business…Have you heard?
Drains, Gutters and Lights It’s been six months since the new owners have taken the site over. Paul says “due to the difficult issues that have historically afflicted the site, basic maintenance has taken a back seat! On arrival we found the foul drains blocked (yes that was the smell in reception), gutters leaking, broken lights etc, etc, etc.” Under the guidance of Nene Business the drains are now sparkling. (Oh, the glamour!) The lights have been brought up to standard, the grass cut, the trees pruned, etc, etc. If you see anything that needs doing please let us know. info@nenebusiness.com
Under Pressure Did you know the site does not have any water mains pressure? In fact, we need a special equipment to “make” our own water pressure. These water pumps are called “pump sets” because they are typically made of two or more pumps. So if one pump fails or needs a service the others can carry on the good work of filling our kettles and loos! The old set had two pumps and looked like it had not been maintained and was just reliant on a single pump. (its brother long ago given up). The new set (of three) has been delivered (see pic) and will be installed at a time to give the site minimum disruption.

Meet Billy Do you love pets? We do! Meet Billy... he’s a retired racehorse. His racing days are long gone, however, in his prime he won all of his first six races. In his seventh race he snapped a tendon and was to be put down immediately. By some fluke, his owner (not us) could not be contacted, so for legal reasons he could not be shot. After recovering, he came to us at home about 6 years ago, full of life and very cheeky. He spends his days in open fields and open stables with his best mate Colonel never far away. Paul & Claire
