Programme 10
Saltdean United vs Aylesford
Sunday 19th March - 2pm KO | League Game
Good afternoon and welcome back to a new look Hill Park as the work has begun on clearing all of the shurb for our new stadium. An awful lot of hard work is going on behind the scenes and we want to thank everyone involved.
It has been a good week for the women’s section. The first team travelled away to Enfield and returned with three points, making it five games unbeaten for them in the league. Our DS run of form also continues as they reached the league cup final after beating Pagham 3-2 on Sunday. This is the first time the DS have reached a final which will be played this coming Thursday at Peacehaven FC. Shoreham are our opponents and it is a 7:30pm KO - we would love to see you there.
We are reallly pleased with the development of both squads and how the first team have progressed throughout the season. A lot of credit must go to Zak and Tom for all of their hard work both on and off the pitch to ensure the girls are ready for each game.
We would like to thank Lewes FC for allowing three of their players to dual sign with us, giving them first team experience but also allowing us to add further quality to our squad. Chloe Nye, Katie Steer and Caitlin Sullivan have all joined and will be with us until the end of the season.
And finally a big welcome to Lucy Jellett and Amy Green who signed a few weeks back and have already shown what they can offer the team. This squad really is shaping up nicely to finish the seasons strongly.
Wrap up warm and enioy the game today!

Good afternoon and welcome back to Hill Park!
Today we face Aylesford in what will be our first home game for quite a while.
After great success last weekend against Enfield we are looking forward to keeping this momentum going as we head towards the final games of the season.
Today will be the first chance for our home support to see Amy Green & Lucy Jellet who have been a great addition to the team since they signed.
The Aylesford team we play today will be hard working, very competitive and a tough opponent to face just like they were when we last played them at their home ground.
As you can see the groundwork’s for the new development has started which further shows the progression that is being shown both on and off of the pitch which will only continue to enhance the possibilities for our club and players for the future.
Finally i quick mention to all the mothers that are either here today or at home that continue to support all our players , staff and club volunteers.
Happy Mothers Day.
Hello and welcome back to Hill Park,
We haven’t played at home in what seems like forever, the girls and I are delighted to be back and to also welcome two new signings Amy Green and Lucy Jellet to the Tigers Den. They both bring a wealth of experience and quality to the team, and they have both adapted well. I can’t wait to see them flourish under the Saltdean badge!
It’s been quite a fragmented second half to the season with gaps inbetween games, but we’ve stuck at it and been consistent with our performances, now making it 5 games in a row unbeaten in the league. I’m so impressed with the development of this squad, not just in terms of technical ability, but also the mentality. This was highlighted when we played Dulwich and went 2-0 after 9 minutes but pulled it back and drew 2-2. We were actually unlucky not to get the win!
I’m really excited with the direction the club is heading in, not just on the pitch but also off the pitch. You might notice that the construction for the new stadium has begun, which is a huge turning point for the club and the Saltdean community.
Today, we welcome Aylesford to Hill Park. Every point is valuable as the middle of the league is extremely tight, we aim to continue our unbeaten run and keep building on the foundations that are being set.
Finally, a massive congratulations to our DS who reached the league cup final. We wish them the best of luck on Thursday! Enjoy the game.

Lucy, firstly a big welcome to the Tigers! Joining from Millwall in the last couple of weeks, how have you found the switch?
I have found the switch of clubs refreshing and very enjoyable. I love to challenge myself with new opportunities that benefit myself as a player.
How have you settled in witin the squad? Have the girls been good to you?
Luckily I knew a few girls from previous clubs that I have either played with or against so I felt welcomed from the get go. Also the girls I haven’t met before have been great.
We are in a good run of form at the moment, today we could make it six unbeaten in the league. How do you see the rest of the season going?
Can’t wait to make it six, seven, eight unbeaten in the league. We’re a hard working team and I have no doubt we can finish in a good position.
What are your personal aims for the remainder of the season?
My personal aims are to score as many goals as I can and reach my full potential as an individual and as part of this team to get the best results possible.
You have scored goals everywhere you have been, have you always been a striker?
Football has always been my go to sport from the age of 4. I started as a defender and worked my way up the field to feel the glory of scoring goals.
I wish that was a hard question but I’m going to have to say Molly Hill with her Fish Flops. If you don’t know what they are, I’m sure she’ll be modelling them today.
Lucy is available to sponsor for the remainder of the season. Please get in touch if you are intersted
