Programme 13
Saltdean United vs Dulwich Hamlet
Sunday 30th April - 2pm KO | League Game
Good afternoon and welcome back to a sunny Hill Park!
With only one home game remaining after today’s fixture, it would be great to see as many of you as possible supporting the Tigers as we look to end the season strongly.
The first team are currently 8 games unbeaten and have really shown their strength in the league. Today will be a tough test against Dulwich but an opportunity to put points on the board as we look to climb the table with our games in hand.
It is a similar story with the DS as they travel to Bognor this afternoon looking to make it 8 games unbeaten! With a cup final to cup on the 14th May, it really is an exciitng time to be a Tiger.
With the season slowly coming to end, we start thinking about next season! If anyone is interested in sponsoring us, we would love to hear from you. We have a number of different packages availavble to suit all budgets.
A big thank you to all of our current sponsors who have supported us throughout the season. From our main kit sponsors, all the way through to our player sponsors. Without you, we wouldn’t be able to offer the professional set up to the girls!
We will also be announcing our trial dates surely, so if you are a player looking for a new challenge, then please let us know.
Enjoy the game!

Good afternoon and welcome to Hill park for what is another testing but exciting game.
We welcome Dulwich this week .
We go into the game with a lot of confidence after a really stong performance away to Fulham. Unfortunately, we did not take the chances we created, however the performance was extremely high in discipline and the girls understood our game plan. Having now played Fulham both home and away and both times not been fully satisfied with the result , it really does show the trajectory this group of players are on.
Todays game again gives us a great opportunity to compete against a side in and around us in the table. The possibility of a positive result could see us really put a marker down to where and how we will finish the season.
Finally , I would like to say a little bit to show my full support to our goalkeeper Blair, who unfortunately was on the receiving end of what is unacceptable behaviour over that last few weeks. As I mentioned before, I fully support the next steps we as a club have taken, and fully expect the right actions to be taken by the FA..
I hope everyone enjoys the game in the sunshine!
As I’m writing my captain notes, I’m sat at the Brighton Vs Wolves game with Molly. She’s spoilt myself, Sophie (my girlfriend) and Tibbs (Worthing player - boooo) to hospitality. This is the element to football
I love - meeting people of all walks of life, sharing that same passion for a ball and a pitch.
Football is a game of acceptance, is a game of enjoyment and is a game that brings people together. 3 key values that runs through the veins of Saltdean and the reason I love the club so much.
Today we are playing Dulwich, as we know, they are a team with a wealth of experience in this league. After their defeat to Dartford last week I’m sure they are going to come out to get 3 points, but we’re ready to continue making Hill park a fortress and make it 9 games unbeaten in the league.
Molly has just told me she skips to the section of the program that asks players who has the worst banter, so I guess I shouldn’t write here that she never makes me laugh. It isn’t a shock to see that every player has picked her!
I’m so excited for the direction this club is heading in, we’ve had a couple of seasons to integrate into this competitive league, and now it’s time to try and kick on and really start continuing to establish ourselves.
Enjoy the game, thank you again for your continued support!

Sienna, your first season being a Tiger, how have you found it?
Enjoyable for sure! I was honestly unsure what to expect, but the girls have welcomed me with open arms and are a great bunch of girls (hope they don’t read this)! Love the competitive standard of the team and league and each game being challenging and testing. Overall, a great first season personally, and amazing to be part of a squad that’s improved so much, with a coaching team so dedicated.
Your previous clubs include Lewes and Selsey in the National League, how does the standard compare?
Naturally as you would expect there are differences, predominantly the National league having a number of professional clubs. Meaning they train often, making high tempo, strong technical ability and tactically demanding with a wider range style of play. However, I cannot deny that the intensity in this league is incredible and so much more competitive with each team in this league capable of competing each game. Love how close the points are, far more exciting!
Togetherness within the squad seems to be a key part of our success, what is it like in the dressing room?
Definitely! I cannot deny that this squad has been one of, if not the best squad I’ve played with for their togetherness and fun friendly atmosphere. I think it’s a huge part of success, as being close off the pitch goes naturally onto the pitch too, and think results come from seeing eachother as teammates and not competition. Tonight’s social will also bring us further together I’m sure ;)
We are in a very good run of form at the moment, unbeaten in the last 8 games. How do you see the season finishing?
100% focus and no doubt it will finish with a very respected position in the league! We have had a great run of success and the last game gets ever closer but we have to just keep playing and focusing like we have been to keep that run going until the end of the season. This season can finish with amazing sights set for next season too.
What are your personal aims for the remainder of the season?
For me it’s always consistency. As a defender my game standard has to be consistent for the team. For the remainder of the season it’s again focus, working hard to do my job for the team. I can never forgive myself if I finish a season with bad performances!
Ah I hate that question! I think there’s two, first one is some of the runs in the FA Cup I’ve been on, playing teams like Chelsea, West Ham, Man United at premier league stadiums against international level players! (Never forget my saving slide tackle on Fran Kirby! But the biggest for me which isn’t so much an achievement, but two seasons ago when my family sponsored me just after my Nan past away. Meaning I had my name and hers on the back of my shirt. Every game walking into the changing room seeing my shirt hung up was a different feeling!!
Who has the worst banter in the dressing room?
Hmmm, the lot of them to be honest, the banter everywhere is terrible! But that’s why it just works I think haha, but if I had to pick it’s a joint win between, Molly, Hannah and Greena!
