Programme 12
Saltdean United vs Dartford
Sunday 15th April - 2pm KO | League Game
Good afternoon and welcome back to Hill Park which seems an age since we have been here. A gap in both the first team and DS fixtures have seen us away from our home for a good few weeks.
Today we face a Dartford side who will be looking to climb up the table. The Tigers could make it 7 games unbeaten in the league which would be a club record at this level, credit to all of the girls who are working very hard every week,
A lot of work is still going on behind the scenes for our new stadium. In the very near future we should see some visible changes at the club. It is going to be a fantastic facility for everyone to use and we are very excited with the way the club is moving forward.
Due to a number of games being rearranged and postponed, the league campaign will continue until the end of May. Keep up to date on our social media pages to hear about the games.
With the season slowly coming to end, we start thinking about next season! If anyone is interested in sponsoring us, we would love to hear from you. We have a number of different packages availavble to suit all budgets.
Enjoy the game!

Good afternoon and welcome to Hill Park for what is the first game in what has felt like a long long time!
Today we welcome Dartford to our ground and with them sitting just below us in the leauge, it will allow us to get a real understanding as to where we are at with our development as a group this season.
We are currently on a really good run of performances and results. The whole squad are now at a consistent level in all aspects of what we try to do , which intern is allowing to push further every training session.
This week we welcome a few new faces to the squad, Chloe Nye and Katie Sterer have joined us on loan from Lewes. They are young exciting players with bags of potential. We would like to thank Lewes for their efforts in making this happen.
As always with new faces, it gives the whole group a little refresh and push. This is brilliant as we head into the last leg of the league campaign, knowing that we only play teams within the top 7 of the league .
Thanks for coming down to watch the game and we hope to put another good performance on.
After 3 weeks of no matches due to no fixtures and cancelled games, we are finally back at Hill Park.
Before the 3 week gap, we played Aylesford. We knew a professional performance was required, a ‘get the job done’ performance which was what we succeeded with.
Today will be a slightly different kind of test where we will play a well organised Dartford team. For both sides, the game is a 6 pointer and crucial to the league standings, so I have no doubt it is going to be a fiery, competitive game which myself and the girls are bang up for.
Despite the fixture gap, we’ve been working hard behind the scenes so we are ready for today’s game and the next run of fixtures. The team morale in this squad is one of the best I have ever played in and I think that is proving on the pitch.
We are really understanding how each player plays, and the new girls have slotted in perfectly. I feel genuine pride wearing this badge and captaining such a great bunch of humans.
I want to give a big welcome to Katie, Caitlin and Chloe who have all duel signed from Lewes DS. They are three young, talented players and are fantastic additions to our squad bringing even more depth and competition. I touched on it last week, but it’s a really exciting time here at Saltdean and I think the quality of the past 5 signings shows exactly that. Kudos to Zak,Tom and Joe for making things happen.
The girls and I are excited for the game, so get behind us and cheer us on loudly!
“The team morale in this squad is one of the best I have ever playeed in ”
Amy, firstly a big welcome to the Tigers! Joining from Dartford in the last couple of weeks, how have you found the switch?
I can already tell from the short time I have been here than I’m going to really enjoy it. I’ve been part of a few games now and I am starting to feel more settled in the way that we play and I am really excited to see how we progress this season and next.
How have you settled in within the squad? Have the girls been good to you?
It can be a bit daunting starting in a new team, but the girls could not have made me feel more welcome and they are great. There is such a good vibe on match days and the girls just create a really good environment, which is perfect in getting you really up for the game and training also.
We are in a good run of form at the moment, today we could make it seven unbeaten in the league. How do you see the rest of the season going?
The best thing about this league is how competitive it is. There isn’t many points separating a range of teams and to finish in the top half of the league would be amazing. We are on a good run of form and to keep the momentum up is the aim and to keep progressing as a team. We have some hard fixtures remaining and the momentum will hopefully assist us in picking up some decent points.
To keep helping the team in any way I can and personally to continue on getting sharper as I took a while out of playing. I’m hoping to get a few goals so G and Molly might finally get me into their celebration.
You have played at some very good clubs, give us a bit of background of where you have been...
I was at Brighton from academy level until the first team and spent a long part of my footballing life there. Unfortunately as a lot of people do, I had a serious knee injury, which kept me out the game for a couple of years. Coming back from this I had a couple of seasons at Crystal Palace before joining Crawley Wasps and then Dartford.
It’s not the most glamorous, but I would say coming back from my knee injury is one of my biggest footballing achievements. I wasn’t sure if playing again would be possible, so now being nearly 7 years post injury I am really proud that I am still playing and enjoying it as much as I am.
I am going to have to say Molly mainly because she turns up to games with fish shoes (fish flops). However, they are currently a good omen for us. I have also not met anyone who carries round a portable karaoke machine so it’s quite impressive from her.
