JUNE 2015

@SLFS

“It’s all the things I like, art and music and

SYDNIE HENDERSON

science-y stuff!”

How long have you worked here? Almost two years. I started as a volunteer and got hired in Oct 2013.

to watch and I got hooked. High school is where I really started to watch everything film, and everything cult.

What drew you to start working for SLFS? My film teacher in high school got me interested in the Broadway, but I’ve always loved the Tower. When I was 11 it was my dream to work there. When I got the offer to be an intern I just ran with it, and now I get to do art and get paid for it.

What is your dream use of your skills? I mean, I made this calendar! Kind of. I’d love to do more posters. They’re definitely the most fun, and I usually have the most creative control with them as well. In the long run I just want to paint and draw for myself and maybe even have my own business doing it.

Have you always loved film? Not always. But I sure did love Tim Burton, and thinking and talking about film and art (and Tim Burton) with people, they recommended me other weird things

What are some of your hobbies outside of work? Mostly art and music. I love painting and drawing and playing guitar. I also go to the planetarium all the time, so add science-y space stuff to that list. Also... video games. Also I have four goats and seventeen chickens and three dogs and three birds.

Poldark

On Masterpiece

The dashing Captain Poldark rides again in a swashbuckling new 8-part adaptation of the hit 1970s Masterpiece series. Aidan Turner stars as a redcoat who returns to Cornwall after the American Revolution, winning the hearts of women wherever he goes.

Begins Sun. June 21, 8PM

T O W E R SAVE THE CLOCK

What is your favorite aspect of working here? I really think the people are awesome. It’s really interesting to be in a non-profit and see how everything works and how things function. What are your hopes for the future of SLFS? I’d love to see the Tower being involved with more things, and reaching out to a younger demographic. I think we have a lot to offer and so many places we can expand to, and a younger demographic would definitely be an awesome part of that growth. Last question, what is your favorite movie and why? 2001: A Space Odyssey. It’s all the things I like, art and music and science-y space stuff! I’ve never seen a film I was more inspired and entranced by, and I never knew the answer to the question ‘what’s your favorite movie’ until I saw it. I have no doubt now.
