Fancy something sweet for brunch? Sweet over savoury is becoming an increasingly popular brunch choice. So, head off on a luxury dessert spree at Haute Dolci at The Trafford Centre. The French Toast Collection offers toppings such as beautiful berry, sticky toffee banana, super sweet chocolate sinner and strawberry velvet, and for nut fans there’s Nutterly Delicious American waffles; fluffy waffles with warm Nutella and hazelnut gelato, or High on Hazelnuts cookie dough. The Choux Bun Collection is a must for French patisserie lovers. The collection features the vanilla and chocolate Belgian Pâte à Choux and the pecan-flavoured Toffee Renoir and ‘Perfect Presentation’ - whipped cream encased in choux pastry, generously smothered with Belgian white chocolate sauce and topped with white chocolate curls, complete with tangy fresh raspberries. If you’re a Lotus lover, Haute Dolci’s indulgent Lotus Biscoff Collection won’t disappoint. The range includes Lotus cheesecake and Lots of Dough – Lotus-infused white chocolate cookie dough with a scoop of vanilla gelato and a sprinkle of Biscoff biscuit crumbs –all topped with warm Lotus sauce. The Manchester site is one of the first Haute Dolci restaurants to offer the exclusive selection of new desserts before they roll out nationally later this year.

Ducie Street Warehouse Manchester

The warehouse chic surroundings of Ducie Street make it the perfect place to spend a weekend bottomless brunching and Head Chef Andrew Green’s newly launched brunch menu doesn’t disappoint. The savoury menu includes: tofu scramble on sourdough; shakshuka (a signature tower stack, complete with grandad’s sausages, crisp dry-cured bacon, Burford Brown egg, melted American cheese and potato cake); halloumi and potato cake stack; steak ‘n’ eggs; and a special rainbow bagel. There is also a variety of eggs Benedict dishes and on-toast options available too, which range from mushrooms, avocado, feta and chilli through to Burford Brown poached eggs with crushed avocado and sumac.

If you have a sweet tooth, why not try signature gochujang fried chicken waffles with maple sauce, peanuts and sesame (we can vouch personally for this one) or opt for one of the following: a thick pancake stack with maple syrup, blueberries, crushed pecans and lemon zest; brioche French toast; or special Knickerbocker Glory with Northern Bloc ice cream, gooey cookie pieces, poached plums, whipped cream, cherries and wafers. Saturdays are disco-brunch time at Ducie Street Warehouse and on the last Saturday of the month, the warehouse presents an elevated disco experience with a themed party paying homage to disco culture around the world. What are you waiting for?
