Cheshire Property Staging Hello! I hope you’re all doing well, it feels like it’s been a while! We’re just about coming up for air after our busiest spring yet, the housing market is getting livelier by the day and we’re officially open to the public at our new studio. We’ve just taken on a fabulous new project and I look forward to sharing that with you. Did someone also say it’s wedding season? It feels like so much love is in the air! Susie

Design and relationships formed If you’ve been a client of ours, I’m sure you’d agree that we become more than just ‘designers’ to you, we truly become friends and that’s absolute key to us creating the most personal and appropriate designs for your home and family. If we don’t understand you and really get to know you well, then that will reflect in the work created. If you’re thinking of making changes to your home, before you choose any trade or designer, you need to really get a feel to see if they align with you, your family and your end goals. If something doesn’t feel right from the start, it often sticks and when someone is spending so much time in your home, it’s crucial you feel comfortable.

sideboard that won’t allow for a lamp etc. Consider the scale of all the elements in the room and how they relate to each other. 2. Poorly positioned curtain rails. It’s a common mistake to hang curtains very close to the window, but if ceiling height allows, install the rail half a foot above the window, this way everything looks larger and the room is opened up. Television appearance I don’t suppose any of you caught us on The Great House Giveaway, did you? It’s been aired on BBC Wales and now channel 4 and it shows us helping a house achieve a whopping £25,000 over what was expected due to the overall presentation. The presenter, for the first time, did a special feature on the benefits of staging a property prior to selling. This was wonderful to see, as our mission is to help more people achieve higher asking prices and quicker sales. Home staging really does work!

Design advice from me to you… New studio You may have seen over on Instagram that we have moved! We’re in a great spot just by Wilmslow Garden Centre and the Ferrari and Porsche dealerships. We are now officially open, so feel free to pop in and say hello, chat about any projects you have or have a coffee or a glass of Champagne! The sign is up, so keep an eye out for us!

There are certain elements and items in a room that we really must put some thought into prior to installing or purchasing. These are just a few things that I’d like you to consider: 1. Furniture that just doesn’t fit in the space or with existing pieces. Pay attention to the height of what you currently have and what you are buying. It’s often overlooked and you could end up with a coffee table higher than your sofa or a

3. Too many accessories! I’m sure you know we love it when a project reaches the final styling stage and one of my top tips is to AVOID clutter. You know what I mean – when you can’t choose what to sacrifice or items from the children growing up, are there still baby photos in frames filling every shelf or sideboard? My way of styling is by grouping things into THREE – something tall, medium and small. That could be a sculpture or plant, then a framed photo, then a small candle – this can be done on both ends of a shelf. Maybe the one above has two photo frames but nothing else etc. If you can part with the vase that you were given as a wedding present from an aunt and put it in another room or take out the framed photos and put in a large multi-photo frame for the wall, then great!
